if the kernel is provided in .tar file,
you need to flash it via odin.
put the .tar file in pda section and flash it..
if kernel is provided in flashable zip, then you just have to flash the zip via cwm recovery..
and yes, as giupy 99 said, there was no need of makin this thread.. similar question have been asked before..just use the search fuction or ask any question in off topic thread in stickies..
or atleast ask in q & a section

Actually I think it's on RC1 for some time. I had this kernel for a week or so and it was very good.
I believe they have sorted most of the bugs.
If you want double boot, this is the way to go.
I have it and its pretty awesome.
Runs very good.
By the way I learned it installing by searching and reading

I found the easiest way was to use Mobile Odin. :good:
Stop answering the noob guy's gone.
Flash Siyah again. Use STweaks. Launch dual boot utilities. Format second ROM. Wipe caché and data. Wipe flash. Flash zip into second ROM. Wipe caché and data. Wipe dalvik. Fix permissions. Reboot..
Edit: Noob guy is gone..

[Q] Dual Boot

Hello,
Sorry if I am posting a thread that already exists as I searched but dint find anything. I have the Siyah kernel but how do i install 2nd rom on the phone. Do i have to clone the 1st rom to 2nd and then boot into 2nd and install? Could someone please direct to correct procedure installing 2 roms on my S3. Also If I wanted to convert the custom roms to ODIN flash-able using Windows is it possible through a software perhaps?
Thanks.

I just rooted my Galaxy S3 having frimware version Jellybean 4.1.1. using CF-ROOT and Odin. Now when i open CWM i get the following error
This version of CWM Manager should be used with CF-CWM v1.1 or newer,It appears you are running a different recovery.Various features have been disabled.

I want to know what it really means? I want to flash custom ROM, can I still do this?
Search for the error message and all will be revealed
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Go back to the CF root thread and read it or read the ten thousand posts asking the same question .

I successfully installed the custom ROM. The error was due to the incompatibility of Jelly Bean with CWM. BTW if you cant help don't reply

BTW if YOU cannot search and are to lazy to read the thread you are in the wrong forum this is XDA Developers not some fix my phone forum .
Those are the rules which you blatantly ignored .

I definitely searched first but nothing concrete was available... for a newbie rooting and installing custom ROM is risky at first... and i respect u for being a senior member but senior members should guide juniors and yes i know its xda developer forum i came here to learn, so far so good

You have already asked this question in the sudden death thread and got an in depth answer.
Here, I've copied and pasted it again for you

Reply:
CWM is a recovery. PhilZ is a recovery that's based on CWM. So it's capable of pretty much everything CWM is, and more. Hence your backups should be restored without any trouble, as long as the CWM version PhilZ is based on can do it. You have one /recovery partition. You either install CWM or PhilZ or TWRP or whatevertheeff else (this is in response to "Do I still need CWM?").
PS: Please clean up your posts, you're almost polluting the thread!
Why are you asking it again? And not only that but making a new thread for it!
Surely the best place to ask is actually in the PhilZ recovery thread.........once.
