Hey, I am using with CyanogenMod nightly and loving it, but this speakerphone issue is a big problem for me.
Has anybody determined a fix for it ?
From searching around it seems that not everybody is experiencing it and that the kernel being used may be the differentiating factor.
thank you.

I have recently installed the latest (at the time) nightly of cm7 for my Vibrant. Ever since I've been getting lots of complaints from the people I'm talking two that my voice keeps dropping off during the call. Has anybody else experienced something like this?
Any idea if there is another ROM I could try that would improve this?

What specific version are you running? Check in Settings > About phone.
Upgrade to the latest nightly. If you're not running 7-20120402 or higher then you still have the tunnel voice bug.
That might be the answer. I'm running 7-20120330.
I'll install that build as soon as I can. Thanks.
Hey guys.
Here's the problem I'm having. People can't hear me well on the other line. Some have said that they can barely hear me, others have said it sounds all muffled. In searching I didn't find much on XDA, but did find some stuff on google about it being a known issue with the Atrix on stock software.
I tried CM10 first (epinter's thread) and now I'm on Neutrino CM7. I'm having the same problems.
Any thoughts? Is this something that is hardware related, or can a tweak or optimization help it out?
Thanks!
I'm not aware of anyone else around here having this kind of problem, so I would guess it's likely hardware-related. Either that or it's some freakish and unique software glitch. You could take it to a service center and have them clean it up, wipe and realign the mic and earpiece contacts to the motherboard or something (or you can try yourself if you're comfortable with that). Can't think of anything else to suggest.
It is a known issue and I have the same problem. On the stock u can disable noise reduction to get rid of this issue, but it is not available in CM 10

[Q] Some guidance regarding grooveIP & 4.2.1 Rootbox would be greatly appreciated.
Hey there gang.
Wondering if anyone is having success using Google voice via GrooveIP on any AOSP based 4.2.1 roms. Been digging for a bit for a friend with no luck & hoping someone may have some ideas about it's status, or what we may be doing wrong.
I run Rootbox 4.2.1 myself on a US variant of the S3 and have never had any problems, however on his i9300, the party being called experiences an echo of their voice that's usually louder than his and really makes it unusable. Works fine for him on TW ROMS,... He had the same issue on 4.1.2 AOSP roms as well....
So wondering if this is a known issue, a solvable bug, or if we're just missing something obvious ! I suppose he'd be open to other VoIP methods if anyone has any suggestions.
Thanks in advance gang... And if this has been covered & I'm beating a dead horse, forgive me..... Couldn't seem to get any relevant search results... Seemed odd as I assume this is a regularly used feature for many. Have a good one!

Does anybody know if there's been any kind of development or solutions on how to actually FIX the audio distortion issue that comes along with cyanogenmod 11 based ROMs when volume is over 75%? I'm running PacRom for the HTC One M8 and I'm absolutely crazy about this ROM!!...before finding PacRom, I never liked anything based on AOSP/CM - now I don't want anything but it!
So the only issue I have with CM11 is this really frustrating audio distortion problem From what I hear, its been a known issue for some time now. I've been researching this for days and finally figured it wouldn't hurt to post this question. So PLEASE, if you have any knowledge of this issue...tips, workarounds or even a fix, please share! I'd itreally appreciate it! :good: Thanks!!
So, I searched Google for "HTC One M8 CM11 audio distortion" and lo and behold, the very first thing that pops up is addressing your issue.

Seems like the built in DSP Player is messing things up and replacing it with Viper4Android and adjusting that can help.
There has been similar but not exact posts to this. The issue is the serious lack of sensitivity change with the S3's mic. Recording a video for example, is a nightmare. The sound quality is garbage and always has been with all galaxy models. My first Samsung Galaxy S phone i had, had a firmware hack where VoodooSound could control the sensitivity of the microphone and it went from awful to perfect!! Is there anything similar i can do with my phone? The mic is just way too sensitive and just cracks the f*ck up in any situation louder than conversation volume.
Currently running CWM 6+/Cyanogen Mod. All up to date.
Any help and information would be greatly accepted.
Cheers guys!

Given you're running cyanogenmod, I would say that might be an issue given all the problems with that on the s3

It's really not. The microphone issue is exactly the same with or without the mod.
