hi i have the same problem with the lapdock, is a problem of jellybean!
(( The only work around I can tell you, is to go into your sound options and change it from HDMI to phone speaker. Honestly, the phone's speakers sound better anyway, it's just a pain to have to change audio settings every time you mount your phone to the lapdock.))
Got it in a forum. There's no fix till now. I was planning to buy one and read about this earlier.

A very awesome and cheap branded headset in a market SONY SBH20 i recently purchased this headset from ebay worth ₹2400 INR
the main perpous of buying a bluetooth headset like this is ,this phone is big in size to wile keeping it inside your pocket plugin ur wired headset is not comfortable like the supper side is always out or else u cant fold your legs bec the jack on the top gets damaged or the phone inside jack or wire could be break and the wire of course its nt easy to handle
so here is a headset without wire where u can take a feel of wired headset sound awesome sound quality battery life
the features of this devices are...
Audio Songs Streaming
Phone cells receive button
hangup button next previous pause play button
Redial button**
led notification
Charging time is very less
battery runs longer
click image "shutter button" using play pause button wirelessly **
Star Marked ** Features or keys only works after some small tweak reroute keys Go To My Blog
This tweak can work with any Bluetooth headset having playpause next previous button..

Sound in traffic is too pale and has no PUNCH in it
Flash the sound mod. Search around. It increases the stock volume levels.

Same. Is it normal that music is soft through earpiece? Unrooted by the way.

I managed to increase it a bit from the the Sound Menu in Settings.
I used the Sound Enhancement and changed the equaliser sliders.
I also later install Player Pro and Poweramp. Both gave better and louder sound.
The equaliser had a preamp slider to increase
Fixed Xperia Z2 headphone volume -NO ROOT-
You can increase your headphone volume on xperia z2 dramatically, before i used this method my volume was constantly on 100% because it was too low,and now it's on 60% because it is too high and the best of all is that quality is untouched. This method is very easy...First of all download app called volume booster. Now your walkman settings should look like on the pics i uploaded before you start using the app (I hope they did im new on this site and im on my phone lol) ok so go to walkman/settings/ and do the SAME settings as i have on pics. When you'r done with that take your headphones plug them in play some song,go to volume booster and and move volume button in app from maximum to minimum and without releasing the button move it to the maximum(your button should barely touch the minimum sound so do it fast ---> From max to minimum without releasing than to the maximum and release button, you will hear sound like you do when you press volume up for call volume) if volume after that sound doesnt increase do it more times until the volume isn't VEEERY loud.I do it every time when listening to song it's not hard as it sound you will get used to it,it will pay off trust me Love my xperia z2 now ^^ (settings are in croatian but that isnt importnant just uncheck clear audio go to equaliser and max out evertything and turn on DSEEHX( CRUCIAL STEP)
Even simpler solution... Use viper4Android from here:good:
My Moto g4 plus has very low volume over headphones/ earphones. I can not even hear the voices in movies having volume raised to maximum.

Don't know whether this will work on your Android OS version:
Tap Settings > Sound & notification, then tap Audio Effects at the very top of the screen. (Yes, that's actually a button, not a heading.)
Make sure the Audio Effects switch is on, then go ahead and touch those five levels, or tap the Equalizer drop-down to pick a preset.
If your device is hooked up to wired stereo speakers, tap the Wired Stereo tab to choose an Effects Profile (such as "3D stereo," "home theater," "live stage," and so on) or a Surround setting (Live, Wide, or Ambient).
Audio effects option is not available in sound and notifications menu.
@gul610
If you're on Android 4.4+ then try Equalizer FX, is has a loudness enhancer.
Other equalizer apps that come with a loudness enhancer exist, too. GIYF ...
