Hey everyone. This is my first time posting since I've always managed to find a solution in the forums but this time around, after installing Paranoid Android 3.94 on my rooted Evo with S-Off. Everything is working perfectly with the exception of the camera? Anyone else having this issue or is it just me?
If you had read through the thread you'd see that the ROM is in Beta and that the camera not working is a known issue at this time...
Give it time and it will get resolved

Hi,
I have tried the official roms, villainrom 12 (excellent!) and cronos 2.1.3 (also excellent!). All have the horrible bluetooth problem of skips in the music, then a speed up/slow down that results in pitch changes.
I saw that Darchdroid got it fixed in the CDMA version and wondered if there are any roms for the GSM version that have it fixed too? Just in case I missed it!
Thanks
nobody in this forum seems to know how to fix it. I've asked but nobody knows, i believe the only sense rom that i never had the skipping was behnaam's legend port.
I am not experiencing this with VillainROM 12. Didn't have it with CyanogenMOD by Elemag either...
none of the Aosp based roms have this problem it seems to be only sense related. I've had this problem with villain, cronos, chocolateeclair, etc and nobody had any idea when i asked the same question. I actually am going to try to move the bluetooth firmware and files from the legend rom i mentioned above into another newer sense rom I just have to read up on resigning the zip, I'm a super noob to all that is linux.
Moved to Q&A as not development. Temporary redirect put in place.

Thanks, although I have also tried Cronos 2.2 (Froyo) that doesn't have sense and it still did the pitch/speed change.

Can I ask what car head unit or bluetooth headset you were using? It definitely does it with my Sony BT2600 car unit and both Cronos & Villainrom.

Could you let me know an AOSP rom to try that you know it works in please? - although I really like sense, I hate this issue and could live without it to get it fixed.
I'm pretty much a noob at this too but I'll help as much as I can!
like kosmiq mentioned Elemag's CMH rom doesn't seem to have this issue (I've used this rom alot and I have a 2010 Mazda3 and the bluetooth in the mazda is wonky at best and this rom works perfectly with it). As far as cronos froyo I haven't tried the bluetooth in that yet in my car but that is still an alpha development so if you need something more stable and complete then stay away from it, It is a great rom and the one I am running now but I am probably going to flash over to Maxisma's newest legend+WWE combo rom.
Good to see Maxisma back.
I searched for discussions on this and couldn't find any. Sorry if I'm posting something that has already been discussed.
I have followed the saga of GPS on Gingerbread, and I tried out a couple of GB ROMs over the last couple of days and was thrilled to see GPS working!
Unfortunately, the compass, an important component when navigating, it seems is broken on all Gingerbread ROMs for the Vibrant, from what I hear.
What is preventing this from working? Is it another component that is completely blocked until we get a leak?
Thanks!
Bump.
No one knows?
Try turning on the GPS sensor.

As I mentioned, from what I understand, this is an issue with GB ROMs on our phones, similar to the GPS issue that was only just recently somewhat solved. I got that info from the dev of Revolution ROM.
Could someone please test it on the newsets GB ROMs/Kernels? I'm also wondering is it working correctly with CM/MIUI?
I'm almost 100% sure this isn't working in the latest nightlies of CM7. Viewed as a low priority in comparison to the 911 issue and other things.
Hi everybody. I have been reading many of the posts here over the past 6 months and trying to learn as much as I can about different ROMs and issues related to my particular phone which is the Samsung Epic 4G Touch.
Thanks Exit_Only for your helpful work in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975379. In that thread Sydius 08 asked "How are the Stable 1 tweaks running for you guys? Running CM10 11/18 nightly" I would like to focus on one aspect of that.
First I am currently running cm-10-20121117-UNOFFICIAL-d710 with gapps-jb-20121011-signed. I had installed JellyBeanMod_Stable-One_EO in hopes that it would resolve my long-standing GPS issue. I have read so many threads and I do appreciate all of the comments and attempted fixes by this community. I also use GPS Status and GPS Essentials where I see zero satellites but saw eight or nine instantly with #3 below. Here are the three times when my GPS has worked:
1) When I first got it just over a year ago. It was running Gingerbread 2.3.x (don't remember the last number but think it was 1). It worked perfectly but stopped after about 2 months and worked on and off after that.
2) After the GPS completely stopped working I started learning all I could about using a custom ROM. I tried CyanogenMod 9 but it did not resolve the issue. There's more to the story and more ROMs and tips provided here that I tried but all failed. However, whenever I Odin back to StockCWM-EL26.tar it works perfectly. I followed the tip about getting a fix prior to putting an ICS or JB ROM on.
3) I installed this on 11/15 http://sbrissen.chris41g.org/sbrissen-ALPHA6.zip and my GPS worked perfectly. However, lots of other apps failed miserably and it kept freezing up.
So here I am with nowhere else to turn. This latest CM 10 works perfectly EXCEPT the GPS. I would appreciate any thoughts on this.
i'm sure someone will mention this, but have you attempted to acquire a GPS lock on a stock ROM, for example, and revert to one of your desired ROMs?

Thank you. I had actually tried that one and ran into a problem with flashing it but I think that's because I didn't go back to StockCWM-EL26.tar first. I might give it a try again. I do love CM 10 and it would be perfect if the GPS worked.
For those who may not know this guy, QBKing77, is one of the best at teaching how to do this. Here is one for the SGIII and the Blazer ROM which he considers one of his favorites. I had to remove the link because I'm such a newbie. Here is the YouTube description: Blazer Rom on the Samsung Galaxy S III [REVIEW]

yep. this is the same method i used to fix my friend's GPS issue on a jelly bean ROM. after seeing to it that i was getting a GPS lock on the stock ROM, i went back into recovery, and flashed the ROM she wanted (paranoid android i think it was)... since then, she's been a happy camper locking into 7-9 satellites indoors
Great news! I was able to resolve this issue by following Qbking's YouTube tutorial: "How to Temporary Boot Stock EL29 on the Samsung Epic 4G Touch." I was able to lock on to 9 satellites and get a fix on my exact location. It was literally showing me in front of the building where I was standing.
I hope this helps someone else who might be going through the same problem with their GPS on an E4GT. If someone could post this information and possibly the link to the thread I referenced earlier I would appreciate it.
Thank you everyone for your comments.
Hey I was wondering if someone could help me with this;
I recently rooted my HTC One S (Vodafone UK) to install a custom, 4.2 based ROM on it.
I trawled through a few custom ROM's to find one that was stable and didn't have too many bugs. I eventually decided on the Dark Jelly S edition ROM as it said the camera "is working" and that was a feature I was interested in. However, when I launched the camera app, it would only recognise the front facing camera. I'm wondering if this is because of the dedicated imaging chip, if it might not be supported or something like that? Or whether it's just a bug?
Does anyone have this working, or a solution to this problem? Or will I just have to wait till an update that fixes this comes out?
Thanks for any help!
Hey guys, I was gonna post this in the forum for the specific ROM I am using, but XDA doesn't think I am experienced enough, due to not making 10 posts, so I am asking here. Has anyone had problems with/resolved the issue with GPS not working properly in CM13 yet? I am running the ResurrectionRemix Marshmallow ROM, which is CM13-based and my GPS now will not lock properly and I can't get any following with my GPS apps. Any help would be appreciated, but I also know that CM13 is still very new. Thanks!
I haven't had chance to try this yet, but I saw this post yesterday.
