[Q] Can't get Odin to flash a recovery

Hey guys, just recently bought a Samsung Note SGH-i717R from Canada (unlocked) and I've been trying now for 2 days to find out why when I try to flash CWM and TWRP using ODIN it doesn't take. I only have the stock Android eRecovery that does nothing. Can anyone suggest an solutions????? Im desperate to flash some cool custom ROMs
After you flash the phone and Odin says success, disconnect from the PC and pull the battery out to stop the phone from rebooting.
Put the battery back in, then boot into recovery the normal way.
Canadian phones have a script they run at each boot that overwrites any custom recovery. Pulling the battery skips the script.

So does that mean I have to look for Canadian based ROMS then?
Not at all. Once you get the custom recovery to stick, you will be able to flash all the roms.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 - Won't boot

I rooted my SGS2 yesterday and today when I woke up I say the app "SuperSU" with a new icon.
I "clicked" on it and it said something about ... that it will boot into CWM and do something.
It restarted and since then my phone has been unable to boot.
The phone is using "Jeboo" kernel.
Any ideas about how to fix this? Flashing a new kernel?
I am able to get into download mode, but not CWM.
flash the stock firmware by sammy and you will be good to go

Exactly the same thing (word by word) just happen to me! have you found a solution?
Flash stock firmware with Odin. About all you can do as phone wont boot into cwm
boot recovery
After flash stock firmware with Odin everything go back to normal.
Installed SuperSu again but when it ask for update the binarys choose the NORMAL option not the CWM one
Are you looking for root? What firmware are you on now?

get original firmware for your region/phone from sammobile.com (you have to register but thats no biggy!) then flash through odin. Put the tar file in PDA - best do a quick search on hear and read the many tutorials :good:

[Q] Galaxy S2 (i9100) stuck at logo screen

I tried rooting my friend's galaxy s2 (i9100) using odin but after it said PASS (on odin) the phone rebooted itself quitting download mode and then got stuck at the logo screen. Is there any way i can fix the phone? I used this file to root : GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar
I hope someone can help me with as soon as possible, thanks.

on odin, did you click on repartition? if no i think you need to flash it again or try a other rom (or redownload) just to be sure its not the phone

I did NOT click on Re-partition. I did what you have said before (flashed again // tried another rom // redownloaded the file) and the phone is still not working. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm afraid I bricked my friend's phone i was just trying to root it

I don't think its bricked... uhmm try to go back to stock rom
go to sammymobile.com and there you can your pda and stuff... I hope everything is gonna be alright
But why is the recovery mode not accessible?
If you were in the process of rooting only then how have you tried out different roms?
Does flashing a recovery itself cause a bootloop?
dude sometimes mine also not boots into recovery. U can flash siyah kernel 6b5 tar version through odin. that will most likely boot into recovery

How To Remove Cwm Twrp Recovery And Restore Stock Recovery For Moto E

Hello Guys
I Installed Twrp Recovery in my moto E..But Now I Want To Go Back In My Stock Recovery..Means i Dont Want Any Of Those Cwm or Twrp..i Want to be in Stock Recovery...
Will Flashing Stock Rom/Firmware ..Resolve My Problem???
Or I Need To Flash Something Else??
++++
Will I Be Able To Upgrade To Official Updates From Moto E
1.If My Phone's Bootloader Is Unlocked
2.If I Install Twrp/Cwm Recovery
Or I Need To Be In Stock Recovery + Locked Bootloader To Get Official Updates In Future
Just flash the stock recovery only.No need to flash whole ROM.
You'll be fine.
You will receive updates on unlocked BL but you will need stock recovery and unmodified system to update successfully.

Extract your stock ROM, you will find a "recovery.img" file. Thats your stock recovery.
To flash it, you need to boot into fastboot and run the command,
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Yes, flashing your stock ROM will also flash the stock recovery back. You will lose all your data on the device though, so it is not recommended if you need recovery only.

By accepting the update, you have done a mistake. You can resolve it by flashing stock firmware or flashing a custom rom

Again a mistake. Revert to stock again. Also check this info:

Also, do you mean you are unable to access bootloader?

Yes exactly even bootloader is not turning on. I am pressing volume down and power button but it's not turning on. That's why I am helpless like what to do when bootloader is not working otherwise I would have done that.

That's a weird problem. Keep on checking again. If it still doesn't turn on, you have no other option other than taking it to service center
