In cwm recovery, go to advanced then to Partition SD-Card. There you'll have to select your partition size (Recommending 1024 MB). After that select 0 MB in Swap Size.

[Q] ROM partitions

Do I need to partition sd-card before flashing ROMs
some have written but some have not...
By the way, what does partitioning sd-card do?
Example:
Nessy's ROM need partition?
You have to go according to rom specification, if it says you need partition than you have to partition it. Else no.

U mean the internal memory? U won't need to format it m8, just delete what's on it and just flash over whats left.
No need for a format, there probably is a section in there to format it though.

In some versions of CWM, the internal sdcard and external SD (emmc) are flip-flopped. In order to format the internal SD of my galaxy s2 using CWM, I had to choose the option to format emmc. If I chose sdcard (which should represent internal SD), it would have formatted my external micro USB. If you have an external SD, just remove it before trying this procedure so you don't wipe the wrong thing (I have made that mistake).

[HELP] Partiton SD in CWM Recovery V6

Hello!
As I can partition the microsd with CWM Recovery, if I get in paragraph advance, to partition the sd.
I want to increase the memory for the app using the microsd.
I have the V6 version of CWM Recovery v1.25 with KernelPanic
Thank you!
For Swap Use 0mb nd For SD-EXT Use 512mb (I Guess This Is More Than Enough For A Normal User)
After That Install S2E or Link2SD App From Play Store!
Move Ur Apps To SD-EXT Using One Of This App!
COPY ALL OF UR SD CARD DATA BEFORE MAKING A PARTITION! OR YUH WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA ON UR SD CARD!

Thanks, but do not let me partition the CWM Recovery V6. There goes that option and earlier, if there was in the ADVANCE menu -> Partition SD.
Now those options do not work out. Since then I can make the partitions?

Hello
I have no sd-ext partition because I could not make it from the CWM Recovery version 6. Since I do not get the option to partition the sd.
What I know is because at the CWM Recovery, it leaves the option to partition your sd and other Recovery as version 5, if it comes.
Download a software named "MiniTool Partition & do it via computer. You can add ext2/3/4 partiton with it.

I downloaded the program and I partitioned the sd with ext4 and fat32
But I think the program did not recognize me Link2sd While ext4 partition because I see that now in the applications menu, the phone recognizes the ext4 as internal memory.
Since in the applications menu, I keep saying that the phone only has 350MB capacity.
What did u want then?u said u want to increase the partition for using apps.there should b 2 partition now.one is ptimary fat/fat32( below 4gb fat, over 4gb fat32) for external memory & other is primary ext partition for internal storage

Are you sure that in you SD card, the 1st partition is FAT32 and is set to primary & 2nd partition is EXT4 and also set to primary?
In applications menu, if the internal memory is recognized as EXT4, you may have formatted the 1st partition of your SD card as EXT4.
Try this tutorial : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
In the tutorial, the 2nd partition is formatted as EXT2, try EXT4.

how the capacity for ext and swap.?
Making partitions on SD card will delete everything from SD card,so make a backup of SD on your PC,then delete everything from SD card and make partition. I did like this

EXT size doesn't matter, put the space necessary to fit your needs. If you doesn't wish to use SWAP (or if you doesn't know what's that), set the SWAP size to 0.
Pay attention to this, also:

My advice to you would be to use minitool wizard to partition your sdcard.
But however or whatever way you choose to partition your sdcard remember to make a copy of your sdcard contents in a folder on your PC.

[Q] Cant Backup by Ext memory

I am using Link2Sd to Increase my internal memory. But when i tried to backup My ROM using CWM It says NO SD-EXT found. Pls Help
Link2SD only shifts your apps to the sdcard via /mnt/asec. SD-ext can only be made with a second partition.
Link2SD does not automatically make that 2nd partition for you. You have to partition your SD card via your PC or CWM.
Anyway, what's the point if you are using Link2SD only to shift apps? There isn't much to worry about.
2nd Partion

Fat32 doesn't work. Try creating an ext partition as the second partition. Do post the result. Hope I Helped
