Hi all, my daughter has an old Sharp FX Plus rooted, but without a custom recovery or rom installed, that has become corrupted. I can get it into recovery mode but I don't have a stock rom that I can flash and it will not flash a custom rom because it only has the stock bootloader. Does anyone have the stock rom that I can flash or a way for me to install CWM so I can install a custom rom? I don't actually have the phone because my daughter has it at college, but I can walk her through doing anything that needs to be done.
Please Help!
Thanks,
Wade

I recently rooted the phone and wanted to install a custom rom. When I tried to back up the current stock rooted rom with rom manager, someone went wrong. So I was then stuck on a flashing black screen. But I can still access Odin/download mode. But whenever I try to flash something, it flashes, but the screen just reboots back to the flashing black screen. Help please I dont know what to do
What firmware base did you start from, and what method did you use to root the phone?
Rom Manager is not recommended for use on the I777 phone. You need a custom kernel which contains ClockworkMod Recovery to back up the phone. Did you try to install ClockworkMod Recovery from Rom Manager?
Need more information before we can help. So, answer the above, and provide as much detail in addition as you can.
I almost messed my phone up by not rooting or flashing a ROM the proper (safe) way and ended up using a return to stock / unroot guide to start fresh and just follow the guides for rooting and installing ROMs from there.
Hello, i was wandering if i am able to root my device without flashing the rom or with a custom recovery. I am new at this, i recently got a samsung galaxy s3 mini and i want to root it, can someone help me with it. Thanks
As far as I know there is not a way to root your S3 Mini without installing a custom recovery, but I fail to see why you wouldn't install a custom recovery anyway.
Since you haven't rooted anything before I can see why you're timid about installing a recovery, but it would help a ton.
First of all, some root apps could possibly brick your device, since they are root apps and have access to the whole system, so if you're not careful, it is possible to get a virus that wipes your phone's OS. And you can't recover from that with the stock recovery.
That's partly why people install custom recoveries in the first place: Backups. And if you do decide to get a custom ROM, the stock recovery can't do that either. So I would HIGHLY recommend you just install the custom recovery anyway.
Hey guys,
I have just recently purchased my Galaxy S6 Edge. It's a decent phone aside from a lot of bloatware, massive battery drainage etc.
What I would like to do is get the deodexed XtreStoLite rom on my device, have it rooted on 5.1.1 with SuperSu (I would like to keep the fingerprint scanner working if possible) and install recovery such as CWM or TWRP. I am not too bothered about Knox being tripped, I don't plan to ever use Samsung Pay so the efuse being blown doesn't bother me.
I just would like to know the order of how to flash/install these. Do I flash the rom first? Then use rooting software such as Ping Pong? Or CF Root? Do I install the recovery BEFORE root? Etc etc.
If you guys could help me with this that would be great!
Flash recovery via ODIN https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347765202
Flash custom kernel with auto root via TWRP https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347808102
Reboot to check root.
Flash ur new rom via TWRP
Flash custom kernel again.
Enjoy
Hey, is it the same procedure if I want to use CWM rather than TWRP?
Also, there does appear to be a UniKernel v8-0002 ODIN FLASHABLE. I assume process would then be flash with Odin, reboot to check root, flash new rom with Odin, then flash the kernel again with Odin.
If that is the case then no recovery would be required right?
Make sure drivers are installed first especially if using windows 10 I would use 8.1 or 7 I also had problems downloading original stock firmware this is required first just incase you brick your device

Thank you guys, I managed it quite easily, although guys, if you feel the need to wipe your caches from within TWRP, don't put a cross in the system option thinking it won't hurt anything, it wiped my android and had to reflash stock rom lmao.
All is well though now, got the UniKernel (rooted) with XtreStoLite deodexed on my S6 Edge with no issues, latest modem and bootloader files too. Fingerprint lock capable right out of the box. I'm a happy camper, now to get it loaded with Nova launcher and all the other goodies. Anyone recommend any of their favourite apps?
Also what frameworks you recommend? Xposed etc?
do u have fingerprint work after root and recovery and which files u use and the method ... thanx
hey guys I trying to flash a costume recover after unlock the bootloader
in flashed the recover and the phone stock like this and i can't go to the recover mod or fastboot mod and it's restart after every 5 second any one can help me please......
Re-flash device's Stock ROM to get rid off of all the modifications you applied so far.
hello, I wanted to install a custom rom on my phone and apparently I have all the tools I need except for a custom recovery image
i downloaded one from unofficial twrp but don't trust it tbh
What would happen if I accidentally flashes the wrong twrp? would I brick my phone or can I revert back?
