a) OTA update doesn't work with CWM. That's the reason you get stuck at first place.
b) What do you mean by "flash another rom also and reboot again back to CWM". Did you offline flash KDZ file, factory reset and it still go back to CWM? That is impossible as offline flash KDZ will definitely destroy CWM.
c) Be patient. People come here to help, but it take time.

Flashing other rom means i have few roms on ext sd. slimbean and cm . after flashing when i reboot it comes back to CWM .
I am not able to do offline KDZ flash as it is not able to detect phone.
Trying with LG mobile support tool now.
Had the same thing. Look up LG Mobile support tool. It will update your phone to the latest software version. Of course you will lose all data & root.
Finally got it working via lg mobile support tool.
Just out of curiosity what might have happened that system was not going beyond CWM.
Also what if i had the latest version of JB, still lg mobile support tool would have worked ??

twrp by Lelus for your model number.
You can use nandroid manger to install it or use that zip I made to flash it with cwm. If you use my zip rename twrp.img to 3-recovery.img

try reinstall a stock rom, check if everythings is fine then reinstall CM9
Thnx for the quick response
I think the problem isn't cm9, when I was trying to install the from I couldn't boot to the cwm recovery because I forgot to root my device. Then I rooted my s3 with cf something root kit and then my signals were gone. I have the international version so my phone should be factory unlocked so I thought I should install cm anyway cuz that might solve the problem. But it didn't. I really like cyanogenmod and don't want to revert back to crappy touchwizz . The problem was there before installing cm9 but after rooting my phone.
Please any help. I really need to use my phone.
Thnx

You should reinstall everything from the scratch mate, so revert your device at stock (using odin), then flash the correct [email protected] kernel and finally if everything is working flash cm9.
Edit: if your device is locked i think you can unlock it easily, search in the forum you can find out everything you need for this.

i am a complete noob, i dont know how to revert to stock rom, stock recovery and unroot my device
Download original firmware for your phone from sammobiles and flash it using odin. If is good then root it again and flash cm9.

Okay,
I have downloaded my firmware file but i noticed that i need three tar files for the flashing precess through ODIN but i downloaded only 1 file *.tar.md5
no clue now what to do
Update: I tried to extract the file using splitfus but it didnt work.
Update 2: Okay now I have Installed my stock firmware and it seems to be working now.. But should I risk installing the CM9 again ?

- launch Odin
- load that ONE FILE on PDA section
- put your phone in download mode (volume down+home+power)
- connect the phone to computer, wait for drivers to be installed and ODIN to find your phone (you will see a message in Odin)
- click start
- don't touch the phone until it's done. It will boot alone
Also, it might be a good idea to wipe data / reset to factory before and after flash.
You could find all this info with google ....
On the topic, I have a similar issue. My phone was factory unlocked , and got locked after flashing latest stock firmware. Downgrading didn't solved anything. I am searching the forums right now, but it seems like all fixes are dated.
If anyone could point me in the right direction, it will be appreciated.
Thx
Hey rsndetre,
Thnx for the post, but sorry I already did that and it worked ..
Here are the method I used to get back my device back to normal and got my sim card working and again reinstalled cm9
1- Downloaded Toolkit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1703488
2- Flashed Stock Boot Image
3- Flashed Stock Recovery Mode
4- Downloaded stock firmware from http://fus.nanzen.se/
5- Flashed stock firmware using Odin (your method above)
6- Rooted the device again (using odin and CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4)
7- Downloaded and placed cm9 and google apps package in SDCARD
8- Installed Rom Manager from Play Store.
9- Downloaded and Installed ClockWorkMod from rom manager and booted to recovery mode using RomManager
10- Then factory resetted, formatted the cache and installed the CM9 and GAPPS V11
Then my phone was good to go.
My phone is up and running, thanks rsndetre, Arsaw and TecQuality for your replies. I appreciate your time
Thanks

The easiest way is to use the update.zip boot into stock recovery and keep hitting reinstall packages I normally have to do it three or four times. Make sure you have a new ROM to flash so that when it goes into clockwork finally you can flash it and keep root. If you don't flash a new ROM it will automatically take you to stock recovery every time you try to reeboot recovery

Question is which ROM are you using
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
how do I check this ? I have downloaded the zip from the link which I have added in previous post its based on 4.1.
Go to settings>about phone.

Also I wouldn't use ROM manager at all.

Okay so I managed to root my phone using this method ; http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...m.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116549
And root works. Now I want to get clockworkmod on my phone. I followed some steps on the internet and ended up getting my phone bricked. I managed to get it working again. Can someone please tell me what to do right? I used odin before and that was the cause of my bricking. So i'd rather not use that again.
I went to the clockworkmod/rommanger website and i found the s2 "Download Recovery" thing. If i flash this through the android recovery system will it work?
Help me out here.
Thanks in advance
What do you mean "I want to get cwm on my phone".
That file should root your phone and install cwm.
Are you getting confused because there no icon.
Dont use rommanager as that can have dire effects on a phone.
And next time put in ALL details about your phone;model, rom etc.

If you are having official stock 4.1.2 rom then go to settings/about phone and check your baseband and then Go to philz Thread you can search it on XDA . Choose the zip one flash it from recovery you will get CWM.

I mean , when I boot into recovery its the default android recovery. Not the cwm. Not sure how to explain it but even before i rooted my phone. I had to boot into recovery, and the default android recovery screen comes when you want to flash the zip. After that I re boot into recovery the android one comes, not the cwm. So yeah the icon or the blue-ish recovery screen doesnt appear

Ok,I know what you mean now. That used to happen with rachmats rooting method;a temp cwm was flashed, and when rebooted, the phone went back to stock recovery.
Several people in the know recommend using pc odin(think you said you didnt want to use it) because it is risky flashing stuff by other methods. If you use odin to do stuff, then that means it is ready to help you out if flashing by cwm or mobile odin goes wrong.

Hi, i'm new in these things so have a few questions.
Iwould like to flah thecyanogenmod but my galax 2s syas it is not a gt-I9100.
So i read some things about removing the assert line from a script and so on.
Do i need to flah an older rom before the cm11 nightly?
Do i need to flash the kernel first? or just use the latest cwm? (or rom manager/clockword?)
Can i reflash the S2 with an cyanogenmod kitkat version after i flashed it with an other kitkat rom for this device?
(still i did not succed to flash any rom to it)
thanks for any help !

First of all check if it g version or not.
To best of my understanding you can install it directly as far as you are rooted.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
You don't need to flash an older version before KK. You just need KK compatible recovery. Or you can flash a KK compatible kernel, reboot to recovery and flash your KK rom.
Hello, thank you both for your replies.
Finally some clear answers
The model says GT-I9100 and not with g behind it, thanks.
I found some things about the status 7 error and about removing some line in a script in the zip.
So i will try the kitkat recovery (in my understanding this is also the kernel?) and then flash it with kitkat rom.
I would like to flash the one from cyangenmod, but doe it really mather which custom kitkat rom i take? At least they are all without the providers code like Vodafone or others?
Thanks again. I will update the thread if it succeeds or not.
Hi,
so i could not install the latest Recovery_CWM_6.0.4.7_I9100.zip as it gave an error E: signature verification failed.
then i tried recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.1.5-galaxys2.zip and this works. But with this i can't install CM11. as i get the status 7 error.
So i will try some other versions kitkat compatible.
I also took a look at the kernels section but it is not clear wich one to use for CWM6 as i don't know what XXLSR or DDLS3 means, and which is correct for Netherlands.
Do you have any idea? (i am not allowed to post there yet)
Thanks for your help.
For choice of kernel -
1. Gustavo's - I don't remember the version. Check the op.
2. Dorimanx - you can try 10.43v100.
3. Apollo - 7.0b Cm
They will bring the KK compatible recovery you want on your phone. Then after rebooting to recovery you can flash any custom rom as they are not locked by any carriers.

If you are able to go back to download mode
1. Flash a stock rom via odin
2. Flash a custom kernel via Odin. You might find some in the link you put there or you can search for hirox kernel. Remember, you have to download Odin flash able kernel and follow the op.
3. Once you have custom kernel, reboot to recovery. Flash any of the kernels in clockworkmod mentioned in my previous post.
4. Reboot to recovery. Flash your rom.
If you are unable to go to download mode try all the methods mentioned in the below link to bring it back to normal. It will need patience and perseverance. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/guide-t2345831
Thank you for your patience and your help Banjara.
This forum and it's people are 100 times better the on Gyanomed were totally no support is given...
I will try it and come back, at least the phone able to start in the download mode.
Probably the usb connector has some loose contacts as i can get no contact with pc.
I got this phone from my brother and he told me that it never worked, just loading the battery
So i tried an other cable from an cheap android pad, but also no luck
maybe tommorow, i have another cable from an android stick pc at my job, maybe it will work
else i have to open it to check the connector under a microscope and probably resolder(hotair) it with a lot of flux... what a pitty... :crying:
lucky i have some experience on it, i repaired a lot of qtek phone, some years ago, always that connector broken.
I'm originally an tv(crt, lcd, plasma) repair technician, but now on an other job
Pfew, i managed to rsolder the connector with help of the microscope on my job.
I could even connect to odin. so that's is good progression. i had a wrong kernel downloaded, so it failed.
now i have the correct one and will use Siyah-s2-v6.0b5.tar
But unfortunately the battery is really emptying quickly when it stays in the phone, i don't know why.
So i will have to charge it an then give it another try with this kernel.
The ROM should still be original as i did not flash it before, just the kernel.
The phone is now saying battery empty, can't download.
To be continued...
Jippieeee!
GREAT !!!!
It worked! flashed the kernel Siyah-s2-6.0b5 and it started ! :victory:
Now what is the best way to proceed, there are so many topics on this it is overwhelming.
Should i first flash a Kernel or first a rom?
Can i flash them right after each other? (kernel reboots) so ROM and directly Kernel in one go?
thanks for your help!
{SOLVED}
Ok this is solved, thank you guys and dolls !
i managed to flash the cwm 6++++ and then the OMNI kitkat (latest) and the gAPPs
and it is working ! i am verry happy !:laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:
:thumbup::beer::beer:
one more thing
i noticed there is also another kernel now in the phone.
How to get rid of the yellow exclamation mark?
i saw some footage on youtube how to do it with the correct kernel.
But can i also extract the kernel from the ROM.tar i used and flash it with Odin?
Or is there another way?
thanks for your help. ---> edit

Thanks Radelos, then i will try to unroot it again. And that will be it then.
Now using the OmniKK nightly of 8th of june, it runs very smooth, no issues till now, all is working well. :good:
btw idk what is the exact rom your willing to use but for no triangle would also do an clean install of stock rom, then root with framroot that you can find here on site and then flash KK compatible recovery and ofc kk rom with it. I'll do a quick a run down of what my phone has been through, so you have the info you need before asking.
1. Bought used i9305 with defect charger port
2. Soldered on a new port
3. Flashed CWM
4. Flashed ROM's for a while.
5. Reflashed to stock.
6. Tried to flash CWM again but soft-bricked my phone.
7. Reflashed to stock.
8. Flashed CWM and now i keep getting different errors when trying to flash Custom ROM's.
I first off started to have this problem: Status 7.
I did the updater-script fix, to no avail.
Then i got Status 4 error, and can't find anything about it on the webs.
So it won't let me flash any CR's.
I tried:
Updater-Script fix (Gave me Status 4 right after)
Different ROM's (CM , AOKP)
Different Recoveries (CWM Touch , CWM Non Touch , CM Recovery , TWRP (Didn't flash correctly so it didn't show)
Different Kernels (Stock and AGNi)
Also when i flashed recoveries on a stock kernel, and i booted into OS then it overwrites the recovery, so i had to pull out the battery and boot directly into the recovery and when i rebooted the custom recovery was gone. until i installed AGNi.
UPDATE:
I have a thing i will try later today, which is flashing another firmware file.

My device is rooted (AGNi kernel roots it)
And i know how to flash CR's, i have done it since 2012, but this error is very new to me.
UPDATE:
After flashing a old firmware (3.1.2 Jelly bean) it seems it has fixed this, but i'm still encountering problems.
The new problem is that somehow i don't have a recovery anymore, i fixed this by flashing a custom recovery.
I could install the zip file, but even after /system wipe and factory reset the phone would not boot.
I proceeded to unbrick the hardbrick with my RIFF.
i also checked that it was for my i9305, which is was.
UPDATE:
After i removed CF-AutoRoot files from my NAND it worked outta nowhere.
