Hey all I got a question about OpenPDroid.
I've been messing with custom ROMs for awhile and recently started to test out OpenPDroid.
I started to use OpenPDroid on my Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9305) using CM10.1. Once CM10.1.3 came out I tried to use the Windows Autopatcher (ApG.2.6.0.2) to patch it but this failed. It threw out an error saying (error: failed android/provider/Settings$Secure.smali' in framework.jar cannot be remedied).
From there on I decided to try out the CM10.2 nightlies as the AutoPatcher now supports CM10.2 (Android 4.3 builds). Patching all went fine and it worked so I flashed the ZIP to my phone using CWM and all went fine. From that point I download Pdroid Manager from Google Play and started it. It recognized that it was flashed and I could set permissions using the app.
However (this is where it gets interesting) I got this app called "Facebook Messenger" installed and I deny its "Record Audio" privileges. Then I start up the app and try to see if I can send a voice message using Facebook Messenger. And guess what, it works.. it did indeed record the audio.
I also tried this on my Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G (T679) and I had the exact same issue.
So right now I'm wondering am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with OpenPDroid?

I just installed CM7 on my Vibrant, everything seems to be working well with the exception of a couple issues which don't seem to be addressed in the thread:
-When I reboot I have to sign in to my google account again, and the widgets say "problem loading widget"
-I don't seem to be recieving text messages(though I confirmed I can send)
-I can't install non-market apps(only tried nfs shift), nor can I install some market apps(Quadrant won't download at all)
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. TIA
Reflash.

Might be something wrong with the market.
Reflashed and it still at least makes me sign in after a reboot, will find out about texts soon enough, apps are less important.
Just in case, these are the steps I took to reflash, since I'm kind of a noob, maybe I missed something
-Reflashed cm7-vibrant-initial-kernel.tar with Odin
-Installed cm7-vibrant-initial-XXXXXXXX.zip
-Installed cm7-vibrant-update-XXXXXXXX.zip
-Installed gapps-gb-XXXXXXXX.zip
EDIT: Reflashed a few more times and got it working. Problem was I was installing CWM with the Rom Manager app instead of installing a kernal with it included, put speedmod on and now it seems to be working fine. NFS still doesn't work but it installs, and based on the reviews it's probably the game and not the phone.
OK guys,
I got a 10.1 3G 64GB & definitely love it. Installed AOKP build 38 and pershoot June 3rd, 2012 kernel.
I tried to install and play King of Fighters. Of course, that's is f*king crazy to get the game run. After installing latest version KOF 12.04.06, "Your device is incompatible" message appeared and FC.
I tried to patch with Lucky Patcher & it let me downloaded about 400MB of game data, followed with some nonsense register thingies.
After all the bull****, game run and another error code appeared 0X00... something; and another FC.
Anyone accidentally know how to get this bad ass run on AOKP, please guide me.
I finally had my Samsung Galaxy sIII Rooted and I wanted to try a mod . So I used goo.manager and downloaded baked_d2att_blackbean-7 .
I made one back up before I updated to Clockwork Mod Touch, than I made a second backup before I installed the Baked Rom. I even downloaded the google apps that would be used as well.
I started with using Rom Manager and found the file I wanted and Installed it through the Rom Manager process. Now I have no Playstore and when I look through my external sd card I can not find anything. I would prefer not to have done any of this so I looked for the restore but the 2 back ups I orginally created are gone. Now I am lost and I think I could get everything fixed if I could just download the playstore. Any advice? I am having a hard time and I dont want to have to bother any of my other friends because this may be a good laugh at what I did. I am new and have been working my @$$ off at getting these custom roms. It would help if I could just get this playstore working. I got my HTC Evo 4g working on cm7 and have it mirrored to use it as an internet on my tv. But I can not figure what I did wrong on my Galaxy S III!
If you have Phil's touch recovery, go into philz settings and fire up the aroma file manager, from there you should be able to move your gapps from sd/0 to sd and then go back to recovery and flash them

Hi guys,
First of all, thanks for the great community, good to be here
I've just got my mediapad at a bargain as 2nd hand and installed 'CleanICE 1.5 Rom (ICS 4.0.3). It has a really great response and installed with such little effort on my part so cheers h25p. I considered a couple other ROMS too, particularly the one posted by 'after_silence', http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856571 CM10 but it is said to have issues with HDMI out (which is an important feature to me) so I haven't tried that one yet.
What I'm trying to do now is boot in to Recovery (so I can install GoogleNow as per this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843457) but can't seem to figure it out for this ROM.
Has anyone had success doing so with ICS? Or better yet, anyone with experience of the 'glitchy HDMI' on the CM10 Jellybean ROM (is it really bad or is it workable most of the time)?
Cheers guys!
[edit]
used auto recovery installer and got CWM on the device now (after_silence provides link to it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1856571)
i thought installing that would wipe everything else so to other newbies, don't be concerned. it's just installing the recovery manager and nothing else is affected
after that i went and installed the 'GoogleNowforICSInstaller_v1.1.zip' (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1843457) from sd card in CWM but sadly when it boots up there is still no google now. any ideas on where to proceed from here?
Maybe our recoveries doesn't support aroma installer. Try to flash twrp instead of cwm or put manually lib and apk/apks from zip to your system folder (same as it is located in zip), set perrmisions to apk and reboot.

thank you for your suggestion, it has got me one step closer (well I suppose anyway). perhaps from here it is just something to do with the gnow port just not being compatible with my rom? after I install it manually and recheck all the permissions via my file manager, whenever i go to google search it simply says "unfortunately, google search has stopped."
Try to find another moded version. I tried it on stock fw (ICS) few mounths ago and it worked.

Thanks, also posted a logcat dump for one of the Gnow developers and they said there was a lot of location / graphics card errors and also suggested to try another ROM. Ended up flashing JB 4.1.1 AOKP for mediapad 30.1 Final (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876676) and enjoying GoogleNow which comes built in with it.
So far I'm really surprised at how much better it is - initially thought my battery was failing ( purchased my device 2nd hand) but the drain is really low now with this ROM. Seems a bit faster over all too. Didn't test out the HDMI function yet but hope that's not as bad as it sounds. Keeping my eyes open on the development of the 4.2.2 nightlys thread and will probably head over to that once HDMI and bluetooth is working a bit better there
Hello,
I'm trying to install CM 10.1 on my HTC One on T-Mobile. Im using CWM Touch v6.0.3.3. I've tried flashing both the 7/28 and the 7/27 daily builds of CM 10.1 as found on the cyanogenmod website. I selected the T-Mobile version of the software "m7tmo.zip" and tried uploading it, but got the error "status 7". It says "assert device: getprop" and then says a bunch of code about the product names "m7" and "m7tmo". So somehow I think there's a problem with the device and the software matching, even though I'm pretty sure I'm getting it from the official place. Currently I'm using the stock Sense 5 firmware, but I don't have Google Play access because I mistakenly installed the gapps. package (for Android 4.2). Does any one know of CM builds that work right now? And in the short term (and for my own edification), is it possible to download an older version of the gapps package that works with Android 4.1 that I can use?
Thanks for all your help!
Gapps: http://wiki.rootzwiki.com/Google_Apps
Lists Gapps packages by Android build. You should be good to go there.
CM10:
Use TWRP instead of CWM: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/164
CM10: http://get.cm
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I'm downloading the older version of GApps now. A little while ago I tried installing the older GApps package straight through ROM Manager but I don't think it worked. I'm still having trouble, except now I can't get into the play store and Drive won't sync, but other google services (gmail, etc) are working. Somehow, trying to install the GApps package via ROM Manager seems to have broken ROM Manager itself - I get an error message when I try to run it... and of course I can't just uninstall because I don't have Google Play access .
As for using TWRM, I tried already, but for some reason I don't see any files come up when I try installing a .zip package. I'm pretty sure I'm in the right spot and yet TWRM only ever shows directories with no files in any of them.
I think it's also worth mentioning that I have S-ON still, and the only methods I've seen to get S-OFF involve downloading apps from the play store which I don't have (ie. some terminal emulator and a different ROM app). I know its possible to do it through a computer but I haven't been able to find good documentation on how to do it.
So I think my troubleshooting flow chart looks something like this:
Fix Play store error > use terminal emulator to turn S-OFF > flash a better recovery file > install ROM of choice (after some more research I think i'll go with SentinelMod, any one use that one?)
Thanks again for the help folks!
