No unless you specifically backed up EFS by some method .
No EFS read the EFS guide in the stickys or take to a service centre .

If you've corrupted your efs folder, so serial is lost, then just restore your efs backup. There is no way to get your serial number back otherwise.

Dear boomboomer,
I know how to take an efs back up.i was asking him so that i could help him because i have a little know how of EFS PRO and have restored my lost imei by that.
ok everybody, thank u for droping by. i have instaled other rom but without ariza patch i would be lost. i hope there is another solution to install that patch with recovery and not by app it self. efs pro was used to backup nfs. imei is there but serial is 0000000000000000000000000000000000000 !!!!!!!

And if you restore using galaxy toolbox make sure you reset custom bin count and reboot your phone.
If nothing works, flash stock rom and try.

i dont have a efs back up.
Assuming you didn't flash EMG4
1) restore backup. No backup?
2) try return to stock (complete unroot). Still broken?
3) send for repair

Do hard reset with buttons, then use KIES emergency recovery and hard reset again. When I messed with some custom ROM happened me the same. I think 2 or 3 times I had to use KIES when finally was ok.
Also use KIES and tick allow storage and then click Update unsuccesfull. You'll get a recovery code within KIES. Use that code for recovery. If still fail, you can send it in stating that update damaged your phone.
i send it to repair service and they restored the EFS Folder.
Everything is fine now.

Please don't blame others for a problem that is 99.99% your fault. Read before you flash. Unfortunately looks like its gonna need a service. And you don't have a warranty. So I recommend flashing stock and then heading to Samsung.
I fllash a stock ROM via Kies ; but phone still bricked.
Unfortunally my efs backup have been corrupted during installation.
Flashing a stock ROM would never help, unless you flashed the MG4 one. Thats the one you should flash because thats the one that contains the only baseband (Well one of two anyway) that can read the EFS after modified. If you're not on MG4 now, at least flash that before seding it for repair, just to rule out having the incorrect modem. If that doesn't work, not much will. Repair centres can repair this stuff pretty easily and cheaply though
EMG4 can't read my EFS, et Stoxk restoration via Kies don't work... :crying:
---------- Post added at 12:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:27 AM ----------
Ouch ; reinstall the UltimaROM with EMG4 et Boeffla Kernel, and network came back
phewwww
Now you must stay on mg2 or mg4 baseband.

I made the same mistake as you did, I did not backup the EFS on my international S3. Here's a solution that worked for me. I don't know if this was because my previous ROM was Samsung-based, or any other mysterious force, but after restoring my previous ROM from recovery mode, my phone is back to normal. I mean the IMEI is a match and the cell signal/3gsignal is back to normal.
So before you try anything with your phone, or send it to Sammy, try and recover your previous ROM from recovery. Then, during installation of the Shiva ROM, make the damn EFS backup when it asks you to.

I think its not for many, I mean it has a ton of features but the honest truth is i I don't think they are working for 'usable' recovery as it seems that putting the backups in /data was a rushed concept as it gets deleted at every new ROM install, unless someone knows how to configure it?

I am having the exact same problem..
The only way I can get any service to my I9300 is to downgrade to ICS, flash Ariza Patch 0.5 and then delete my efs folder contents and copy and paste from my backup. When I upgrade to JB 4.1.2 I get no service/emergency calls only. I have tried flashing many modems/basebands and still no service. I have tried restoring efs backups in a few different ways e.g copy and pasting using a root explorer, restoring via recovery, restoring via Ktool. Still the same issue. I have also tried using Ariza Patch but this removes my baseband and seems to make the issue worse. Please has anyone got any ideas?
And we don't care. This is I9100 Q&A.
Sorry I didn't realise.

After having S3 for some months, I decided to update it to 4.3.
So I searched online and saw some tutorials how to root and install costum ROMs.
I read few tutorials to be sure how to do that and after all went good and the ROM installed, One problem has rised: NO SIGNAL!
so I wiped all and installed a ROM STOCK.
After that the signal came back "half way". It's showing signal bars but I can't call to anyone, even after calling to my provider...
I just don't know what to do. Please help

That is your backup flash with odin
( When you flashed a custom rom it probably backed up your efs some roms backup by default)
I would just backup your efs you have at the moment just in case you have problems flashing. You will then be able to return to how your efs is now even though it is not fully working..
Or try this app >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.hellcat.droiddev.ktool <<
The phone has to bee rotted to use ktool?
I also understand from the link you did about the EFS that there are two types of base bands and if I have an efs backup that I did on V1 baseband so I can't restore it on a v2 baseband, so my conclusion is to get back to 4.1.2... correct me if I am wrong

good that you found efs backup
yes you need root. or you use the recovery philz touch to restore your efs (then you don't need root, but a custom recovery).
well samsung roms based on 4.3 need efs v2, so you have to go back to 4.1.2 to restore your efs v1 backup.
if everything is working again, I would suggest you to use oding to upgrade to 4.3, because then everything should be updated correctly (but keep your efs backup, and make another one, just to be sure)
then you can try out again custom roms based on sammy 4.3
So what is the best option to restore it?
Because before I tried (while 4.3 stock rom was installed) the flash it with Odin but Odin always crashed when I was uploading it to Odin.
With kTool I tried before but when I am clicking on the button it says that it restored but he didn't asked for directory, when do I need to put it?
The same story with phliz, I also tried with this and he don't asks for directory, only asking whan the ending if the file-tar to bin...

Hmm... try installing another EFSv2 modem, then do the /efs copying part again.
Suddenly after so restarts, the IMEI got back
But... The SN now is 0000000000
You'll need to correct the permissions of the files you've copied. Try searching for someone who already did this and duplicate what they did.

Ok,
I tried something new. I flashed a new modem, backed up a full backup and then installed a costum rom 4.3.
the IMEI GOT BACK! And even the SERIAL NUMBER!
But I think the serial number is not good because he has 16 or 17 (I don't remember) digits (numbers and letters).
But still i have signal bars but can't make or receive calls he says: "No registered on network"
For the finalle, I tried ARIZA patch but he Is stuck on 0%...
here I stopped, I really don't know what to do.
Don't use the Ariza patch once you've got your IMEI and SN back. Maybe try flashing a new stock version of Android with a EFSv2 baseband so as to not go through the copying fiasco.
