[Q] Record locking, which can be? - Galaxy Ace S5830i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everybody this is my first post.
I have a problem with my Galaxy ace (Gt-s5830C), when I put it to record videos it keeps recording but the video locks up and then back. What can it be? Rom already switched several times put the rom's (Simplicity, Razodroid, Stock, Excalibur, CM7 ...).
I stopped the process DrmProvider.apk I saw errors caused by it, changed the speed of the sdcard to 2048, changed kernel several times and nothing worked.
Currently I use the Kernel Rafael.Baugis overclocked 936 MHz, and class 4 sandisk sdcard.
I appreciate your help.
Current system:
Model Number: GT-S5830C
Android version
2.3.6
Version baseband
S5830CVJBL1
Kernel version

You should ask questions in Q&A thread. Overclock by rafael.baugis is a placebo, meaning it doesn't work. Try odin again and then tell. If it doesn't work, it can be a hardware problem.

Thank you.
The Kernel of Rafael.Baugis is very good!
I'm believe this it's problem of hardware. I'm doing flashing of the rom several times and not fixing.
I appreciate a quick fix, thank's for help!

I believe this problem to be caused per fragmented files.
I ran the application "Disk Defragmenter" in the sdcard and i found increase of performance.

Samsung galaxy SII ROM / Kernel problem

Hello guys! (I am a noob by the way...)
Not a major issue but somewhat annoying; 2 days ago i changed Kernel from the stock orange version to gingerbread supercurious 2.3.3 using ODIN and the colors looked rather odd and pale and the performance was reduced ( on quadrant standard from 3200 to 2900) . I changed to Darky's Rom and therefore upgraded to android 2.3.4/5 but the colors and the camera still aren't right although i now score 3800 on quadrant standard benchmark!
Current version:
Model : GT - I9100
Android version : 2.3.4
Base band version: I9100XXKG1
Kernel Version: [email protected]#supercore_1.0_e
Version number: DarkyROM2 XXKG1 BASE
Please help!
I want my really nice Superamoled display back!
Dude u should have post this in the q&a section
But anyway try flashing a different kernel like siyah or ninphitamine or other popular kernels.
This should solve the problem

Sorry, i thought it was an appropriate section to post the question and for some reason, the website would not let me post it in the Q&A section.
Will the others roms enable me to keep my incredible performance ? ( because although the colours are not as good as before, it is so stable and fluid even with a lot of widget and background apps running!)
Thank you for answering.
Thread moved to appropriate section.

[Q] Can't use Tegrak Overclock(Free) in GSP5

Hey there fellows
My question is simple i have a international version of the SGP5 with the following especification :
Android Version: FROYO 2.2.2 (SDK 8)
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9
Firmware Version: VXKE1
I just recently rooted it using SuperOneClickv2.3.3 and the first thing i wanted to try was overclocking. I installed Tegrak Overclock (Free) from the Play shop and when i tap in "Load overclock module" i give a message box with the following text:
"Your device or kernel is not available. do you want to see available models?"
if tap yes it forward me to the tegrak blog if tap no the message box dissapear but nothing happens.
Reading thread related with overclocking everyone seems to not have this problem and they could just use it..so i'll really apreciate if anyone out there could help to overcome this and help me overclock my Galaxy player 5.0.
P.S: it'll will come in handy if you could recommend me another free application that could do the job in case tegrak don't work for me
I'd bet it's because you're still running froyo.. tegrak has worked fantastically on my gingerbread 5.0 all the way up to 1.5ghz (you have to buy ultimate, though).
OR you can flash a different kernel with OC capabilities and use cpuinfo or system tuner to overclock. Entropy's kernel works great for the 5.0, not sure about international though.
Check out the development subforum.
You'd better not use the lastest version of Tegrak Overclock. The version 0.6.0.4 will be ok
In addition, you should edit the file--biuld.prop,like:
ro.product.model=GT-I9000
It's enough?I just sure it works good on player 4.0
thanks for the suggestions i will try to use the 0.6.0.4 version of tegrak OC and will edit the file..i'm against changing froyo to gingerbread..since i did it in a 5.0 of a friend of mine and the sound quality drop noticiably..as the last method i will try flash it with another kernel.
so once again thanks for the replies

[Q] galaxy ace logo loads for a long time and stock versions.

Hi,
i have a problem, the logo screen of samsung galaxy ace s8.. waits for about 40 seconds/more and only afterwards goto boot animation which takes a while to.
i don't remember the phone acting that way usually the logo screen is only for a moment.
iv installed stock after Cyanogen and i understand thats not good but i used stock light 6 which should be supported and it does work except for this part.
what can cause this kind of behavior?
and second question.since i wanted to return to stock rom i checked it out and i have 2 questions about it
1) can i use kies and is it better or worse than odin?
2) what are the different between the same versions of android and what does fit me (for example S5830XWKS2 S5830XXKPO both are 2.3.5 and 2.3.6 have different one completely)
thanks in advance for any help
well i can answer your second question
2.3.xx versions are just minor updates ...sometimes they fix wifi and bluetooth problems and sometimes also improve battery life..they improve the stability and and performance if the phone and add some eye candys ( the 2.3.5 version adds overscroll glow effect)...
about your first question : did u wipe cache partition after flashing the rom??? see if it helps...
Proud to own an ANDROID
Prouder to be a part of XDA
i tried to clean cache and everything that is needed
no luck
about the question about firmware: both are 2.3.5: 2.3.5 S5830XWKS2 2.3.5 S5830XXKPO
the question is what it the difference between them.

[Q] updating I9100 kernel

OK so I have an GS2 running:
rom = 20120806 CM9
kernel version = [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Aug 5
Baseband = I9100XXKE7
Android = 4.0.4
Ok so I did the whole Odin thing for the first and only time around March/April updating from GB and haven't touched the kernel version of this phone again so it's quite old. I want to update to CM10 but I'm not sure if all my versions are correct and all the reading I do with kernels slightly confuses me because I'm not sure how it affects my current version as the CF-Root kernel I did ages ago isn't in my 'about phone', so I needed to ask on here because Whirlpool didn't respond.
Can I simply flash CM10 straight over the top? Or do/can I update the kernel version to do this? I would ideally love to have a kernel that optimizes battery life and gives me the ability to have the soft buttons flash for a notification.
I found these threads, are they applicable to my case?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287726
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311933&highlight=i9100xxke7
Or can someone point me in the right direction because I'm happy to read but I need help narrowing my search to my situation.
Cheers.
You are running CM9 and you want to flash CM10? If yes, then you don't need to flash any kernel to do that.
Just follow these steps:
1. Download latest CM10 nightly and Jellybean Gapps
2. Backup your contacts, messages, and apps
3. Boot to CWM recovery
- Backup your ROM (under Backup and restore (optional)
- wipe data / factory reset
- format /system (under mounts and storage)
- flash CM10
- flash Jellybean Gapps
- reboot phone
Done.
Thanks Jokesy. Much appreciated

Here is the CM 10 thread for nighty buildshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794758
I was on MIUI (ICS 4.0.4) and have jumped to Resurrection Remix 3.0.9 and now on Revolt JB 2.5 both of which are based on AOKP and CM10.
I flashed Siyah and then DreamKernel and finally landed on Dorimanx 5.85. So I think you should be okay flashing a new Kernel for your current settings. I would suggest trying out different kernels as there is no best kernel and it depends on your usage. Dormianx has a Battery and Great Battery profile which you can activate via Extweaks app or in recovery. I am not sure about the soft buttons flash though.

[Q] SiyahKernel S3-v1.5.3 what is this exactly ?

Hi guys I know that Siyah kernals allow overclocking of cpu and gpu on the SGS3 but what else does it do.
1)Does it improve battery life, sound of speakers and performance ? How?
2)Also can i install it on an original rom of ICS ?
3)Will i be able to update to Jelly bean through kies after installing this ?
4)After updating to jelly bean will i loose this kernal?
The sites i visited do not provide these information only that this kernal has these features and dual booting etc....
Thanks to everyone who replies or at least takes a look at it..
beware, i was using this kernel as a default
nearly the first thing ive flashed after installing a new rom
took me quite a while to learn that it prevented me from recording FullHD video, it was crashing the camera app everytime
i dropped it and switched to a stock kernel which works best for me right now.
There is a full thread dedicated to this kernel in original android development section!
With ics you can only install below 1.6 version if I'm correct (mentioned in the thread anyway). So no dual boot.
With STweaks app you can change every parameter and so save battery, overclock cpu and gpu, undervolt, enable some audio improvements and so on.
The best is to update to jb, and then install the latest version with dual boot.
If you lose the kernel after a Rom update you just flash again the kernel, 30 seconds work.
Hi,
All is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709686 (dev thread) and here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1709860 (general thread)...
You need good reading, testing, etc... For battery it depends of your use and settings (in the 6th post of the dev thread there are some settings for battery life or for performance for example).
Firt of all read the first 6 posts in the dev thread...
