Hey Guys,
I've heard that Verizon has their S4 carrier unlocked by default...is this true, google has been saying so, but I wondered if anyone here had experienced it first hand?
If not, is their a carrier unlock that someone could direct me to?
Thanks

This is a very frequently asked question, but Yes, the Verizon S4 is carrier unlocked.
I put a SIM from a UK provider in my phone and it came up GSM on AT&T. No unlock needed.

Seen a lot of offers for IMEI unlock code for jetstream around the net. Anyone tried that? fake?
Having mine shipped tomm to the middle east...already obtained the IMEI and had it unlocked by one of those sites you mentioned...will update next week when I receive it
I got mine sent to me by a friend in the states, it was bought without a plan and came locked to at&t, I called them and explained I live in Australia but they said they couldn't unlock it. I was able to get an unlock code and made a video about it here http://youtu.be/a8eN0roRxHQ
Now it is unlocked hope that helps
Thank you everybody for feedback!
Great News - will try unlocking my HTC JetStream which will use a Middle East carrier data SIM & will update - thanks for the hint !!!
Perfectly unlocked to used with any SIM, I paid 25$ to HTCIMEIUNLOCK, waited 15 minutes, got the unlocking code, entered it and ...WOW !!! SIM unlocked.
Working perfectly on ORANGE network in Israel. If anyone wants to see here it is:

Thank you for the feedback, everybody! Definitely going to find some one with US social security number now!
Buying from outside the USA
I saw these people will sell to international customers. I do not know anything about them, though.
I have ordered mine from AT&T through a friend.

Hm Interesting.
I got my hands on a HTC jetstream test machine for their engineers and it didn't come locked. Had AT&T Logos on it as well. Could just be because it was for the Taiwan Engineers so they didn't lock it. Quite interesting.
Can anyone verified if Jetstream gets 3G/3.5G speed on US T-Mobile sim card with AWS frequency? Or just edge? Someone from XDA posted the Youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcZlljP62Ew&feature=youtu.be) video saying it works on Orange network, but I realized the device was only getting "edge".

Hi,
Was wondering if the sim unlock will cause a change in the root or if the root could interfere with the sim unlock or if any future updates will revert the sim unlock to sim lock?
Wanted to be sure before unlocking the sim.

I unlocked my Jetstream a couple of months ago. I rooted the jetstream last week and didn't see any issues. Although now I am bricked because of an unrelated reason. But you won't see any problems with unlocking your SIM.

Rooted first but now cannot sim unlock
Hello Everyone,
I have a Jetstream ATT which I rooted with developer d00mlord's stuff. Recently I decided to unlock it from the ATT network. The unlock code says unlock successful, but after rebooting it comes back up with the same locked screen. This will happen over and over again. This is happening with an ATT sim card too, so that I cannot use the data features with anything but wifi. The company who provided the unlock code tells me it may be due to the tablet having been rooted, and that I will need to factory reset everything. So, I am hoping that someone might be able to tell me what I should do. I have noticed that this thread addresses the sim unlock first and then a root afterwards, but not the other way around. I cannot seem to find a thread that is more relevant. This is my first posting and I am brand n00b so thank you very much for even reading this over.
when you say locked screen..what exactly do you mean?
for other sims to work you need to add a proper APN (maybe even for at&t after the unlocking). try googling: "the name of your provider + APN settings"
and add it to the settings>wireless>mobile networks
Hey guys, I know that the Verizon S4 comes unlocked out of the box, but I am looking to unlock it for use on T-mobile. I know that I will get HSPA+ because I live in an area with those bands. Would someone please walk me through the process of entering the correct settings in order for a T-mobile SIM card to work on this phone? I know what the APN settings for T-mobile are, but I've heard that verizon has blocked the option to add any new ones. Also, would the phone having ME7 or the latest update affect its use on T-mobile? Thanks in advance.

Whoever told you that Verizon blocks adding new APNs is misinformed. When you have a VZ SIM installed, the "Add new access point" menu is disabled. Booting with a non-VZ sim will enable it.
Please use "APN" in the search box and read the resulting threads. All of your questions have already been answered.
Hey guys!
I got an unlocked verizon s4 and using it with an international sim. The problem i have is this annoying message "Non-Verizon SIM" which i have to "force stop" at each reboot. Anyone knows how to disable it?
Thanks!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but why not just get a Verizon SIM card? They are free and then you won't have that problem. Is the international SIM giving you something special? I know if you go on vacation, Verizon can give you a SIM that will work wherever you go so I assume you can still get the same benefits like using it on international networks? Sorry if I totally misunderstood the problem.

That's the reason - Verizon charges $20.48 per megabyte in Europe. Or, 100Mb of data for $2048. Those "Jeremy" T-Mobile ads aren't joking.
How did you remove the warning? I use a non-US SIM when I'm overseas so would like to remove the message.

HAHA... OK I got you, sorry. Just curious, if you are on another carrier network and someone else's SIM and the phone is unlocked, why would it have anything to do with Verizon and be checking for a Verizon SIM?

Because they're buttheads.
Really. There's no reason to do this except to make it annoying when you avoid throwing $$$$ at them.

Has anyone found a reliable way to sim unlock the sprint version of this phone yet? I been looking into the threads on XDA and google, doesn't seem like theres a way yet?
Also does anyone know if i'd be able to use this phone on gsm carriers in canada after unlocking?
Thanks for future replies!!
http://www.htcunlockingservice.com/htc-phone-unlock-network/CDMA-EVDO-REV-A--USA--htc-one-m9.htm.htm i found this site for cdma devices, has anyone tried this site b4?
So far none of the methods used for m7 and m8 work. Trying to gather info and see. Any old hand willing to lend some help?
I'm confused, I thought this was a global phone and thus I would be able to pop in a sim from another country and have it work automatically? Either that or be able to get an unlock code directly from sprint. Was I wrong by assuming this? : I'm going out of country in two weeks and more than likely am screwed if this is the case D:
Im not sure but I think this may work

Just tell me every details you get
Even if you did find a way to simunlock it it wouldn't do you much good as the Sprint M9 lacks the radio frequencies required to work on most other domestic carriers:
http://s4gru.com/index.php?/blog/1/...rock-out-with-their-flagships-for-the-season/
Second, the One M9 was not tested, thus is not authorized for domestic GSM/W-CDMA bands. Rabid phone unlockers under the new Sprint domestic unlocking policy, consider yourselves forewarned.

I bought an HTC One M9 that was supposed to be unbranded and unlocked and turned out to be a Sprint locked phone.
The guy who sold it to me was able to get the unlock codes.. but I am outside the US and trying to unlock the phone requests an update (i assume from the carrier).
But as I am outside of the US i have no link to the carrier..
Is there anyway to force the sim unlock so i can enter the code?
When I put in the sim, it says SIMLock enabled contact customer service.
Sim Unlock Sprint HTC One M9 outside the US?!
Trying to sim unlock the Sprint HTC One M9 variant. I've managed to unlock the bootloader and root the device but now I'm stuck with the next step. I live outside the US so Sprint cant help me and the phone hasn't been activated on Sprint. I was hoping i could sim unlock this the same way I did with my M7 but no luck? Help anyone?
Okay, I have a question. I have a Sprint HTC One M9, and I want to go to the T-Mobile store tomorrow and get a T-Mobile SIM for it. I'm not allowed to post a link to the page I'm referencing (under 10 posts), but according to Sprint's page "FAQs about Unlocking Your Sprint Device":
Under the second bold question, where it says "Will Sprint notify me when my device is eligible to be unlocked/has been unlocked?": It says all DSU-capable devices are automatically unlocked. This means that I should be able to go to T-Mobile tomorrow and get the SIM card and just put it in the phone for it to work, correct?
Sorry for the noob question. Definitely appreciate any help.

Nope it's still going to be locked. I bought my phone outright from HTC and spent hours trying to call Sprint (both regular and international support) and get it domestically unlocked, and all they give me is the run around and my MSL. They keep saying the new provider can use the MSL to reprogram the phone to make it work, which I believe is what happens when you flash to a prepaid CDMA carrier, not for GSM.
I kept arguing (with the call center manager) and went over the terms on the Sprint website to no avail. They'll unlock the SIM for international use no problem, but domestically, they will say it's impossible.
I've only heard of 1 other person from the Sprint forums getting the DSU unlock on the M9 and it was a pain for him as well. I pretty much gave up. Not worth the hassle. If you get yours domestically unlocked, please let me know and I may try again.
Please see this forSIM unlock http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-one-m9/general/sim-unlock-thanks-to-gcprokey-t3166761
Cphoneunlcoker.Com! got my phone unlocked for free. Glad I didn't have to pay moneyfor it.
what phone? or is this just spam?

as I know this is international unlock. so when you will arrive to your country you will need just local sim card and it will work well if the phone was unlocked correctly before
Hi,
Is there any way to unlock a prepaid Verizon LG V60 while abroad ?
The phone is not asking for a network unlock code
so inserting your overseas sim card, it doesn't say any thing? and when trying to make a call, it doesn't ask for unlock code?
maybe try factory reset and hope the tmobile verizon app appears again... i believe it's a software lock. and once there is a way to flash other roms, then that might help.

Usually only the AT&T version is the one that asks for a code. Other will have to be remotely unlocked.
ok cos i think my tmobile one asked for unlock code, but my friend did it for me, so not sure. if only we could flash new unlocked rom from another region.

May I know if the verizon unlocked your phone? (While abroad and not connected on verizon network), If yes, did it follow the 60days unlock policy? Thanks in advance for your answer.
