Anybody know how to delete or get rid of the Sony bookmark folder, to which it seems to open by default whenever chrome is started.
And while at it, do you know how to change settings so that a specific bookmark folder opens by default when opening a new page/tab?
Try this: Go into settings then apps find and Disable com.android.providers.partnerbookmarks

Please tell me a list of apps that are safe to remove from XperiA X10 (2.1).
Also, I use Moxier to access my office emails. Is there a way to install the updated version from market? I tried it, and it did not let me install it even after rooting.
Lastly I have an icon on the application drawer which reads "org.microemu.android.Micro..." What is this? And How can I get rid of it?
theres a thread already made with a full list of safe to remove apps, look around for it

It can't be updated because it's protected. Use Titanium Backup to uninstall Moxier. Then you should be able to get the latest version (which I believe you would have to buy).

It's org.microemu.android.MicroEmulator, which is a part of Opera Mini. It can also be used to run other JavaME apps on Android, but I can't find any list of apps that uses it. Did you delete Opera manually or something? Maybe it left some files behind. You could try installing and uninstalling Opera Mini.

thanks for the file man but I'm having trouble installing it, I put it at sdcard then into /system folder, then changed permission and move to system/app/ then reboot. still not showing in home switcher. I even click on it and pressed 'install' but showing 'application not installed'. any other way to do it?

Rather then moving and setting permissions, why not just try to install like a normal app?
Tried just now and still no luck, I guess i'll have to stick w/ launcher pro then.

If both doesn't work, then you have final choice is to flash using SEUS. Make sure you backup your stuff before proceeding.

Are you shure that permissions were set right? Also, maybe SE home was "installed" but just not showing in home switcher (as I understood it is a third paty aplication?).
Maybe try to delete the default settings for launcher pro and then press home button. The dialog to chose home screen should appear.
the original app is called home.apk perhaps it needs to be called that?

Sorry to hijack this thread. But could a nice person please upload the talk.apk? I REALLY need it very fast.

I enabled fast dormancy then rebooted and got this message. I cleared contact data and cache now my phone tells me the contacts app does not exist. How can I reinstall contacts to make this message go away?

You should be able to download right to your phone, make sure allow unknown sources is checked in security settings. Then go to download folder and install, or copy and paste with a root explorer.
Using a root explorer I saw that both of those files were still installed on my phone, I couldn't uninstall them to try and reinstall them. I get the message " uninstall not successful"

Just did this on my phone to test. Using root explorer go to system apps ,make sure it is mounted r/w long click on contacts and select delete. Go to download folder find contact apk, long click and select copy. Go back to system apps and select copy. Long press on contacts apk in system, select permissions and set to rw-rw-rw- , then reboot.

Thanks for the suggestion, I did exactly that and it still have the problem. Not sure if this is related but when I go to settings-apps-downloaded or All nothing appears in the folders, the apps appear in my app drawer and run fine. Were you able to uninstall both the files?

The apps not showing up is fixed in 7.3 , would you try updating. Then clear app data from manage apps for both contacts and storage. By the way how did you clear it the first time ?

Checked my contacts app, it isn't running nor can I enable it. I noticed after restarting my phone the message would come back and I have to clear contacts storage each time. This is a real pain..

Other than restoring to stock and rerooting and unlocking, I am out of ideas. All of your data would be saved so it isn't that big of a pain.
Edit...do you have both these lg contact apps in system apps? And are the permissions set as shown ?
So I noticed an app called Joyn in my Applications Manager which I have not downloaded. This app doesn't appear in my app drawer. I had a quick search around and found that Joyn is an app that enhances voice quality and allows wifi calls and chats. My S3 is not the 4G version however which leaves me a little confused. What is this app used?
It's a rubbish Samsung app
Found it on my S3 too after trying to hunt down what was causing my phone to hang. But no way to remove it.

An app to look at files and delete. File explorer, root explorer, solid explorer, etc. Browse to system/apps find the apk and delete. An alternative is to use adb and commands.

They are putting to much rubbish on the phone that no one is using, there
must be a section somewhere so you can download the applications
if you want.

I forgot to mention the rom cleaner, you can use it with recovery. I think it is in the original android dev section, you would have to search. Anyway, the cleaner has a list of apps to remove, plus you can customize it too remove other apps or not remove apps it pre-selects.
If you ever find you have deleted an app you need just extract it from the firmware you flashed.
Ok so i don't know how to say this but.
-I had rooted my phone.
-Then i wanted to get Facebook Home
-So i deleted the file for facebook(because usually you aren't supposed to be able to delete facebook just un-install the updates.)
-And then time passed and i unrooted it, next day it got stuck in a bootloop and i fixed it. But now i can delete facebook.
-Does anyone know the file to put it so i can't delete it just un-install to stock lg l9 facebook. And where to put that file so it won't fully delete and so it'll just say uninstall updates?
I would really appreciate it if you can help!!
The attached image is what I mean, I need it to say uninstall updates.

Copy the facebook.apk from your data/app folder to your system/app folder. Reboot the device and it will be a sudden app again; however, i recommend leaving facebook as a user app... that way it is overwritten when it updates
