[MOD][STOCK][AT&T][ODEXED]Scrolling Wallpaper for TouchWiz-AT&T ONLY-update 3/27[CWM]
Based on DAGr8's edits for getting scrolling wallpaper working for TouchWiz, I've made some necessary modifications for the stock, odexed AT&T rom.
***These changes are for stock, odexed AT&T only.***
Basically, this means you haven't flashed a rom like DAGr8's or TPC's. You haven't deodexed the stock rom. You'll need root.
The flashable zip will copy the three framework files to system/framework:
framework-res.apk
framework.odex
framework.jar
It'll also copy the required gallery fix from the International Note to system/app. This means your gallery icon is going to change AND your Gallery3D.odex will be deleted.
This will also get you the CRT animation so you if you already have it, it'll still be there.
If you had any other changes to your framework, like from UOT Kitchen, you will lose them. This includes battery mods, etc...
New 3/27/12 - I added a version that shouldn't overwrite your UOT Kitchen changes to framework. (Make a backup first, of course) This version does not contain the framework-res.apk.
To install:
1. Reboot into recovery.
1a. Make a nandroid backup
2. Wipe Dalvik-Cache.
3. Flash zip.
4. Reboot.
Revert will copy the original stock, odexed AT&T framework and gallery files. It will keep CRT animation because that's the framework-res.apk file I chose to use in the revert file.
***As always, make a nandroid backup before making any changes to your phone.***
***Disclaimer - you're flashing at your own risk. I'm not responsible for you breaking your phone.***
UPDATE: In the interest of these boards and the users, after flashing this fix for the scrolling wallpaper, I encountered major performance issues with the browser. After flashing the revert file, they went away. I'd rather have a better performing phone than scrolling wallpaper, so I'm not using it anymore.
I did not try any of the build.prop tweaks or other scripts, so those may work to resolve the browser performance, I don't know. Just wanted to let you all know my experience with my own mod.
I seemingly resolved this by opening and closing QuickPanelSettings which the 14 toggle mod uses. Not sure why this does it, but it does.

new 3/27/12 This version should not overwrite your framework mods like battery percentage from UOT Kitchen.
Revert back to stock (Stock AT&T only, with CRT animation, but it won't bring any of your previous changes back - that's what nandroid backups are for)

Is yours really scrolling? Mine is let me pick the landscape mode but it still never scrolled. My pix are 1600*1200. Do i need higher res?

It did really scroll, yes. I tried with stock wallpaper, 1600x1200, and photos taken with the camera and they all scrolled fine.
BUT - about a day after flashing this, I noticed major performance issues with the stock browser. Titanium Backup started force closing on me about 10 seconds after opening it. I thought I might have had a conflict from some recently installed apps, so I uninstalled all of them, but the issues remained.
I ended up flashing the revert zip and the performance issues went completely away. Titanium Backup still force closes so that may be unrelated.
Anyway, I'd rather have a better performing browser and phone than have scrolling wallpaper, so I disabled it again. Maybe that's why it's disabled to start with.
Can you please add mirror? Can't download coz I don't have 4shared account

My bad, I didn't realize you had to sign up for 4shared to download. I'll change the links and will update the OP.
EDIT: Okay, the links are updated in the OP.
Thank you will be trying this shortly and will report back
IT WORKED !!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT STUFF
Ok. Wiped and flashed, but I only get the crt animation and not the scrolling wallpaper. It gives me the option to select landscape or portrait mode on pictures when I set a wallpaper. But the wallpaper doesn't scroll.

I assume you're using the stock TW launcher and you've set a wallpaper with the landscape frame.
Try flashing the one that doesn't overwrite the battery mods.
Yes. I am using TW launcher and using the landscape frame. No luck flashing either one

Have you cleared the Dalvik-cache? Not the app data, but the Dalvik-cache located in /data/dalvik-cache.
If you're manually doing this, you need to push the framework.jar and framework.odex files to system/framework, then change the permissions to match the rest of the files in the directory. Make sure you created copies of your original framework files and put them on your sd card or something.
Gallery3d.apk gets put into system/app, but you'll need to rename the gallery3d.odex to something like gallery3d.odex.bak.
Reboot after clearing the Dalvik-cache.
Cleared Dalvik then installed again over stock rom, no workie.
I did notice that scrolling works when applying livewallpaper however.
So the problem might be in the gallery app?
The scrolling issue is in the code change...the widescreen photo selection is in the gallery apk
Are you using a large enough photo to scroll?

Not sure 1600x1200 is large enough. Mine didn't scroll. Cleared both caches

There's only one cache you need to clear - the dalvik-cache.
You should not have to clear the caches for the apps.
I upgraded my Xperia S using flashtool to the most recent ICS and now I have a problem with all my contacts with attached pictures. Instead of high res pictures now I get only low res ones, no matter what I do - I tried deleting the picture, asigning it again, deleting the whole contact - nothing worked. How to fix this?

I'm using an xPERIA Mini ST15i running a deodexed Stock ICS 587 ROM,
MESA Hybrid 3.9 Kernel and swap2cache script enabled.
After wiping Dalvik, sometimes I seem to lose an installed app.
This doesn't affect one app in particular and its weird cos I get a generic apk icon
with the app's name in the drawer but when I click on it it says "App not installed".
This happens only with apps moved to SD card using the default Android function.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Maybe the deodexer caused this?

It happened again. Also the systemUI settings gets reset after a reboot sometimes after fixing permissions. It's driving me nuts cos its abnormal behaviour.
I've installed the NXT framework Mod if that's of any help.
Also another question.
What would happen if I deleted .androidsecure folder's content?

Your app aren't missing. Just take more time to load because they're stored on sdcard. Just wait until 5 or more minutes.
.androidsecure is where your app stored. Those which are installed on sdcard.
You can look what inside with going to /mnt/asec

LOL Never thought of waiting.
I was just checking apps right after rebooting.
Thanks so much!

Suddenly, my android phone have trouble with the issue that some of Applications close automatically right after launching, especially right after I reboot phone. What are the cause ?
After reboot, my phone still has about 200MB RAM free. however, after reboot about 1 or 2 minutes if I open Facebook,/xda,/viber ...it will automatically close immediately and back to home screen. BUT if I take the phone rest about 15mins, it becomes operating normally. No trouble with the issue that some of Applications close automatically right after launching anymore. So I don't know what's happen.
Please, give me some hints or advice.
Thanks all
Fix permissions via Clock Work Mod or any other recovery and if your Sd card is mounted to the PC you get force closes
Hit thanks if I helped

Memory "tweaks" is my guess.
Thats at screen off or screen on too?
Could be some software you have installed and not the rom.

It doesn't happen while phone is locked. I have checked for all software but none of us are killing these apps. Is there a problem with my build.prop?
