[Q] Need help with editing PIT file for Samsung Galaxy I9100G - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i've a Samsung Galaxy I9100G with a 1.97GB Internal storage and 11.00GB USB storage.
So i saw this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353551 and tried it with the pit files in there but those for i9100 and my phone got soft bricked and i set it back to my default pit file and now the phone is fixed but i have no idea how to edit my PIT file so i can install my apps and keep my files in there. This could be different i don't need much space for files in my phone i have 8GB and 16GB external sd cards so i just need app space in my phone.
I checked the post but it says to increase block size
but when i increase it shouldn't i be decreasing something else?
and if i increase the block size should i increase block count too ?
my DATAFS is 2.449.408KB but my UMS is 6.643.712KB where is the 11GB?
my hidden partition is 29.720.508KB how is that possible if i have a 16GB phone without my sd card inserted?
So in short i need my internal space to go up to at least 10GB so i can install what i want.
I attached my default pit to the post so if you can edit it or explain it to me how do i go about doing this i'll be greatful. :fingers-crossed:

internal Storage

QUESTION
the size of my internal storage is 11.4GB (which is 12GB from 16GB, so the phone uses the 4GB as system)
BUT when i format it, it says only 10GB (9.9GB to be exact) is available.
WHY? and what is using the 1.5GB rest of the storage?
Can it be cleaned up?
Another Question
So, as you can see i did a full format of internal storage to START OVER CLEAN
and i copied every thing to "A folder" in my external memory
BUT after i formated the internal memory i went to the External memory to find that my folder turned into a NON recognizable sort of file with 0kb of size.
the memory size shows that my files are in there but WHERE?
my little girl's birthday videos and pictures are in there so i really really need them back.
WHAT SHOULD I DO?

No idea what you are doing but to recover files you can try RECUVA .
Looks like you formatted external sd card .
jje
Take the card out and plug it into your computer.
(Or use my Usb mass-storage mode scripts around here somewhere if you're rooted, it makes no difference)
This is a known issue with the phone and exFAT, Fat32 seems to work fine.
Should the file really be damaged (and not only non-readable by the phone) you can use Recuva as suggested by the parent.
Thank you Guys for the help, and I GOT the whole thing back.
when i removed external memory and put it in my windows laptop (because i did it with mac the first time) i found the folder there.
i renamed it and put it back in the phone and it was OKEY.
QUESTION THOUGH:
as my first post i did this format to have a clean Empty 12GB of internal memory BUT i end up having less than 10GB even after format.
What is this and why can't i empty the rest?
You can't just format the internal memory as it is using a shared file system with the system. Can you tell us what you did to format it?
Sent from my GT-I9300
i connected it to the computer and did a format.
it was totally fine but it shows the Total size is 11.9GB and after format it still uses about 2GB and says 9.9GB available (2GB used)
the total size of the internal memory is 16GB and 4GB is used by the System but why 2 more is taken from the 12GB too
Probably installed apps. They share the available space with the folder you see as /sdcard/. Check your storage in the settings.

[Q] Internal Memory become 4.1 giga

hey guyz i made a big mistake i use mass storage format so the interal become 4.1 so any solutionto make it bk to 11.5 ?
Mobile: i9100 S2
Find an 16 GB pit file, flash via Odin, format internal sdcard and NEVER EVER play with pit files!

[Q] About reduced memory and formatting

Hi everyone,
I have a question, maybe the same question with some others. But it's very complicated to handle kernel, rom, pit etc... So please can you help me simply?
When i format the sd flash its memory reduced to 4GB from 11GB. I read the related tags but i can't understand perfectly.
please can someone tell how i can fix this? There is a program named ODIN, and .pit files and other things. What should i do respectively? And when i do that, is it going to affect my applications or complately format the phone? Because i saved my applications to internal memory (2GB). Now i don't use the memory of 4GB.
Thanks.
What?

[Q] How to know my ACTUAL storage space??

Hey devs
So basically my friend has got a used phone and a while later the phone started to screw up "lag and stuff"
Phone says storage is full meanwhile there wasn't so many data in the internal SD card, so I had a look at it and decided to flash a PIT file
THE QUESTION IS:
Storage says the internal SD is 4GB but my friend says it was a lot bigger than that but he doesn't know by how..
IS THERE ANY workaround that allows me to know the actual storage space??

[Q] No Internal SD card after re-partitioning PIT file

So, I found this thread and used the S959G Pit file to increase my app storage space but at the risk of losing my internal SD card or /emmc
Modded Pit file for SGH-S959G http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=3829
Modded Pit file for SGH-I777 http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...de-partition-i777-phone-data-storage-t2839161
TWRP says "E:Unable to mount '/emmc'
Cyanogenmod 12.1 sees the Internal SD card but formatting does nothing, it tries to, it shows the levels of what is using the space after formatting but quickly disappears two seconds later
Storage Partitions apps don't see the Internal SD card at all
and finally CyanogenMod Files shows '/storage/sdcard0/storage/secure' but I think that's a ghost.
Did I damage the Internal SD card?
My odin flashes where:
1.Flashed the Modded S959G pit for more storage, I freaked out and went to flash the I777 Pit and TWRP v2.7.1.0
2.Then flashed the i777_4GB data - 45mb preload - 1GB system pit file and CM 12.1 never booted
3.Flashed the Modded S959G pit and CM1 2.1 booted.
I hope I can still use the Internal SD card again
Any help or hope is needed at this point. :crying:
Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having the same issue that you are having right now
