I'm not convinced on the QX100 and I have a once in a lifetime trip coming up that I want the best point and shoot device I can get afford, which now means an RX100 M2 now.
I know that the RX100 M2 has NFC and wifi and is controllable by the XZU using Play Memories. I've also found the Geo Tagging app gps4cam on the Playstore.
I'm wondering what other tips people could give with using these two devices together?

If it was me I would be using the RX100 M2 as the camera rather than trying to control it via Play Memories. The reason is I would want to be able to capture the RAW files and I am not sure that you can't get through the Play Memories.

Primarily, I would be using the RX100 M2 as a camera yes and that's the reason I am skipping the QX100, the M2 will just be easier to handle.
What I am wondering is, if there are any interesting things that can be done with it using Play Memories and a Z Ultra?

Only remote control being able to take picture you wouldn't be able to with only the RX100. Like put the phone on the table and take yourself or having the camera high in one hand and be able to aim and take a shot you certainly couldn't do without the phone. If not, for now there is not much other things you can do.

I have both these. You can easily use playmemories to share photos from the camera to the phone which you can then publish to the internet via many options. This may be useful while traveling. It's a brilliant camera.
Btw, I'm colvill off Whirlpool.

Hi guys,
Just wondered whether anyone actually use's their tablets outside the house, on the bus, at work or out for a walk?
Rarely see anyone on any tablet of any kind!
Thanks.
I use it in school sometimes but rarely, more so on the train to watch shows and movies since it will outlast my laptop.
I use my Tablet S for work almost every day. I use it to annotate pdf site plans and fill out construction completion docs. I love my tab. I just wish I could root it again, but my usb port has stopped working.

Thanks to everybody for responding.
I'd like to use my tablet outside, but everyone always takes an interest! lol
I use mine to fap in bed, And as remote.
AW: How'd you use your tablet?
I rarely use it on the bus since its a bit big for those situations, although i use it on the train to play games etc. Also does a good work at the uni, where i can look at the lectures in pdf or even read something on the net. Much more comfortable than my xperia arc s. I love my xts, even with its flaws

Mostly for studying. I have a Nexus 7 that I use for on the go, but it's 7" form factor is kind of small for certain texts. I'm studying for the CCNP and it's nice to be able to see diagrams AND read the description at the same time without scrolling a lot.
I take notes in class with it and have used it in a presentation for class using the hdmi adapter. I don't use it outside though its really useful to look st pdfs right when it's brought up.

I would like to have a tablet with an e-Ink screen so I could use it outdoors in full sunshine. Looked low and high but can't find anything. Is there something in the pipeline? I think it is possible to root some e-reader but I want support for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, what is my best choice right now? Should I be patient and wait for something to come on the market?

A kindle? It has Wifi, but bluetooth, I don't know? Or Barnes and Noble, their tablets are optimized for reading and you can use a full cm build from your sd card (it will cost you about 20$ for the image file).

Sony readers (PRS-T1 and PRS-T2) can be rooted so you can access the Android settings. They run 2.2.1 however and e-ink has a very sloooow refresh rate compared to LCD and isn't much good for using apps or games. I root mine in order to install Moon Reader pro and have it sync with my tablet and phone. The T1 and T2 both have wifi but no bluetooth.
What you (and I) really want is something like pixelqi:

I almost modded my MSI wind to have a pixelqi screen but the cost was waaay too much for me.
There have been a few tablets produced but are hard to find, buggy and severely outdated. There are apparently supposed to be a few in the pipeline (coming soon!). http://pixelqi.com/devices

Yeah, that looks interesting. I don't need an e-Ink Android device to support video or games, I have devices for that, I want something to read and write on even when I'm sitting in blazing sunshine. Back in the day I had an HP Ominpro that used a monochrome LCD screen. There are no devices for outdoor usage today.

I did try cm10.1 for a bit but it was too clunky so I went back to stock.

I use my everyday for Netflix, youtube, streaming radio, stored music, Google Music, web browsing on my TV.
If only Cm10.1 didn't break the amp so I could still power my sub

Not great on quality, but you can certainly stream from the Nexus Q to a bluetooth receiver and into an AUX port on your stereo system. Otherwise going via HDMI into a receiver allows you to get the full surround effect.
I've collected a few Q's and I'm trying to find ways to still use the stock amp via a bluetooth stream TO the Nexus Q (CM9 Nexus Quantum Singularity?) or disabling the Nexus Q app forced NFC push and enabling stock Android Beam to push songs to the Q. This works great on CM10.1 RC5 for Youtube.
Spare Nexus Q?
If anyone has forgotten about their Q and wants to forget about it on a more permanent basis, let me know as I may just be interested in helping you out with that one
They were never on sale here in the UK and I really want one for a project and for generally geeking around but have yet to be able to get hold of one for a half reasonable price.

Hi Everyone I am consider getting the Sony xperia z ultra as a gift for graduating with my Bachelors in Information Technology and Cyber Defense.
Before I get started I recently purchased a Huawei Ascend mate Last july and I really liked the battery life but the screen started to bleed I have a bad pixel and it doesnt have the processing power that I now need. I have just started to get into playing on my phone and I was considering getting the moga hero because I have never been to crazy about the touch screen or the tilt the screen gaming.
I have seen on the forums that some people have got it too fit with the moga pro but what about the hero?
Also how is the battery life on the Ultra? I know the Ascend Mate had an 4,050 mah battery Its gonna be weird going down to something smaller?
Does Google Wallet Tap & Pay work for the Ultra? I saw that the Xperia Z is accepted I dont know If it works for the family of Xperia Z
I was considering buying the phone from cells4u.com has anyone used these guys before?
Since this phone is expensive I was gonna get somekind of insurance I currently have squaretrade but its ok I dont like the deductible thing its pretty stupid I was looking at us.protectyourbubble.com. I like the Lost & Theft coverage and the can do $140 a year for full coverage. Has anyone ever used protectyourbubble?
how is the camera? I Heard its bad but Im not a photographer but I saw that the Qx10 is out and its a good option but it doesnt look like the clip on the back works? is the Ultra too big? I wont be taking pictures of too much I am graduating and going to Montreal canada for grad school (first in my family to leave and live outside the states) so I wanted the options of taking some pictures of the beautiful city.
How much onboard storage does it have? 16gb? or 8gb?
how is the sound and video quality? this is mostly what I will use it for.
I got mine from http:\\www.tiptopelectronics.co.uk or £309 with free delivery and 1 years warranty

First congratulations for your graduation second, you might read some reviews around here. There are already a lot of pros and cons for this device so just read around. But i can imagine that you would be slighly disappointed with the battery. But if you want to, you could always grab one of the fine and slim sony powerbank with you and keep some peace in mind.

From what I read, the hero's clip is smaller than the regular Pro, and this thing can barely fit in the Pro, so no, I don't think it'll fit in the hero.
I'm about to embark on a little adventure in getting the Gameklip to work with it as soon as all the parts come in, so that's another idea to look for if it works out.

Depending on how often you use it (Screen on time), the battery can either be fine or distressing. With my only using it when I'm in public transit or checking email it gets to about 40% at the end of the day.
Most of us solve this with a battery case; The Sony's a popular one for quality, and currently all of us who are interested in something else are looking at Brando's case for it; As far as I know we're all waiting to get it right now.

16 across all models. External uses the SDHC or whatever it's called, so if we ever see them you could theoretically add the 128GB SD card into it, but they only mention 64 on the specs.

Sound is pretty bad on the onboard speaker; It'll do fine in quiet areas but otherwise you should stick with headphones. This is because of the waterproofing on the thing; The speaker is naturally sealed. Headphones sound great on it, though.
Video is phenomenal. Best on a phone, IMO.

It does help that it's just a controller clip. That being said, it's not officially supported by gameklip; I'm going to basically jerry-rig the thing together using some cheap silicon cases and their universal version, since they don't have one for the Z Ultra.
If it works it'll be the best gameboy ever. If it doesn't I'll at least get a dual shock out of it I can use on my friends PS... Getting tired of borrowing his broken ones.

Thanks that post was excatly what I was looking for I saw Ericas review of the Ultra earlier and didnt know that she did the moga hero. Its good too see proof that it fits the hero!
Any news on it being supported with Tap and Pay? I have checked online and found that the Ultra does have the correct Security chip in it too do tap and pay but citi bank has this pay pass thing has anyone used it?
Does anyone know of a solution for playing music on a headunit with the Galaxy S4.
I don't want to stream it via Bluetooth, I want a USB only solution for the best audio quality. I haven't been able to find anything as of yet, unfortunately.
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Nevermind, I just found out that Pioneer supports MTP over USB with their new 2014 line up. If you're interested you can find it here: pioneerelectronics.(com)/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers.
Kudos.

With the Pioneer units you can use both. Pandora is the one that they specifically support in their older App Radio/App Mode units. As you might expect, their support for iPhones is much stronger.
You can hack the app radios to mirror your android screen, never looked into this, just wanted to mentiom that cool little tid bit.

Very good question my friend, when I order mine I'll report back. I'll be thoroughly pissed if I can't and I'll certainly be sending Pioneer an angry message for skimping on such an essential feature. Why does it need to be such a headache to get these basic features? /angry.

O I remember when I was once skeptical of audio quality over BT but once you switch to using BT audio in your car...you never go back!
Just an update on things, no dice on the Android head unit. I installed it today and couldn't get it to read my Galaxy S4. I don't have time to fiddle with this crap everytime I get into my car so I'm not wasting energy on this falsely advertised POS.
Look elsewhere if you want a true Android compatible headunit, I'll be on the look out. If anyone has found anything feel free to chime in, I'm frustrated beyond belief. The difficulties to implement one of the most basic features, mind boggling.

You have a double din opening? Why not toss a nexus 7 in there. Not sure what else goes on if you don't want to use bluetooth, but seems you should be able to get audio to an external amp. I'm not buying soon, but I've seen some pretty sweet nexus 7 installs on youtube.

I'm actually installing a Nexus 7 in the stock navigation location (I have a base model without the navigation but the option bezel is there). I'm going to fabricate my own mounts and install the Nexus 7 overhead for navigation and OBD II monitoring.
I want the single-din radio to handle all of my music. I have an iPhone for music that I kept after I bought my Galaxy S4. The audio quality between iPhone USB and auxiliary is night and day and I don't want to sacrifice audio quality.
