Mine was fine. Updated through my smartphone. Using CM10.2, and the sony 'Smart Connect' app.

This problem could be linked with the batch number of this I saw online somewhere..
Hope Sony come out with a fix or new update ASAP!

After I ran the updater, got it to replace the software on the SBH52, the XZU was able to successfully download and do it's thing. So no more pop-up every time they connected.
Still very flaky with 2 devices connected.

Usually smart connect app will notify you when there is an update for your bluetooth headset. To check the version open up smart connect app. Select your bluetooth headset. Then tap edit settings. Then tap the "i " icon on the upper right corner.

can some one hack or root this thing so we can change the ringtone, remap buttons to launch apps and make the display to display more info like time and date

ho. and be able to play the FM radio on the device speaker

What exactly we profit from the firmware update?
Is it good to doing it or not?
Is there any firmware changelog history?

Has anyone bought this product recently? Is it good now with latest updates? I'm planning to buy it, so need your suggestions please...

I also read in a review that no app is required to connect it to the phone now.

[Q] How to upgrade to 6.1.A.2.45?

Hi Guys,
I am very annoyed with data connection loss and heard that this latest rom fixes this. I am currently running 6.1.A.0.453 but PCC still think I have the latest version, even Sony website said the latest version is 6.1.A.2.45.
Any idea when the rom will be available on my phone because if I have to put up with this for another week I will smash it to the wall.
Thanks

Find the ftf file with the newest version and install via flashtool
Unless you have cwm recovery... Then just install the flashable zip from development forum

Flashtool.
Does it requires the phone to be rooted? I really don't want to root it because my Mobile Banking app will not work if the phone is rooted :crying:

I flashed the 6.1.A.2.45 and all good. Battery seems ok but for some reason Android System is right at the top with 40% and screen at 15%, I would of thought this should be the other way around. Checked the graph for details and I noticed that the phone was AWAKE all night even though I switched it to airplane mode.
I am now thinking about doing a wipe but I'm not sure which option to use 'Factory data reset' or 'Settings reset'. Does the factory data reset delete all my data like photos, musics & docs?

[Q] Bell Z Ultra 4.3 updating

Ok, so after waiting a couple of weeks for an update from Bell since Sony released the firmware, I've decided to take the updating process into my own hands. Coming from a Nexus 4, waiting for updates is something that kind of frustrates me, so here is my questions:
I understand that the model bell has is the c6806. Now, will I run into problems trying to flash the stock Sony firmware from Bell's bloatwared up edition? Also, do I need a custom recovery, or can I keep stock? I really don't want to unlock my bootloader because it's taken me ages to download all the software and files I wanted... unless I do a backup, I suppose.

I also have a Z ultra from Bell and I updated manually following these instructions without issue. Just download the FTF from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921. Pick model C6806 GENERIC US.
Then follow these instructions to flash using "Flashtools" http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2428319
You don't need to download the XZU device folder because it's already incliuded in the new installation.
You don't need to unlock bootloader since it's from Sony but you won't be able to root your device and you will lost all your data. Except if you uncheck "Wipe Data" in Flashtools software, be it may decrease stability.
Hope this help.

OMG WAIT DON'T UPGRADE YET. I need your FTF files, because I want to downgrade to 4.2.2, I need root for everything, like my PS3 Controller for touch emulation, to get rid of the navigation bar etc etc.
So please can you extract your FTF files from your Bell Device and send it to me !!!! PLEASE !!!!!

Did you tried to keep root with supersu survival mode? And if so, did it work?
After hearing fo all the problems the .290 update brings (seemingly,) I think I will wait for kitkat. 4.3 jellybean isn't enough of an upgrade to justify the issues it will bring, or to lose root. KitKat definitely will be, though.

Meh, I tried but OTA failed installing each time. It fails at the begin of the install, phone reboots and tells me that it could not install the update. Probably because I have Dual Recovery and I debloated the rom ...... Oh well ... loll I'll probably try a factory reset and try the OTA again. I mean I have a nand backup anyway
I'll keep you posted

Ok I tried a factory reset and it didn't work either, the progress bar reach near middle than it reboots. I bought the app for OTA survival but can't test it cauz I can't OTA ..... still trying to figure it out.

.532?
That OTA is for .257 then. That is 4.2 Not 4.3.
You could find it in BASKOU his CDMA thread. But really doesn't matter which CDMA you use. As long it is matching. The excellent guide from Lord can also help you further. You should defenitly have a look overthere.
Hum I'm positive that it's 4.3 take a look. I'm gonna take a look at his thread thanks

Yeah, that's 4.3 Surpises me that you can update straight from 4.1 to 4.3. But thinking it over, it makes sense.

Oddly enough, I have yet to get the ota for 4.3. Been checking multiple times a day. Hopefully I don't run into issues, since I did root/ Detroit.
I received the ota because my cda product Id was changed when I flashed the Us retail. 532 so that's why you didn't receive it the build.prop you send me wasn't the same as what I had.

OTA is live, I however failed to update mine. Guessing it has to do with me debloating :/ Anyone know of a workaround?
EDIT: PC companion worked! If you run into the same issue, just use your PC

If you downgraded to .532 then
Flash this .532 ftf to avoid IMEI loss
http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/?id=2476#downloads
I'm guessing that you've downgraded from 290 to 532? If so, update to 290 again. This problem won't go away by itself. It'a a baseband thing. It got updated with the ROM when you updated to 290, so it seems like it's not compatible with earlier builds, and that's why we're ending up with no IMEIs when we downgrade.
It'll work again once you update to 290 again.

It's almost 4 AM here now, so i'm going to bed. I have Tapatalk notifications enabled though, so i'll catch your new posts in bed if there are any
i will try it. i hope this can fix my problem thanks a bunch. let you know ( lord )
You do that. I'm going to bed now, so be sure to quote my posts from now on, so i get notifications from Tapatalk. Can't guarantee that i'm awake 5 minutes from now, but we'll see. NUT's 532 ROM should work fine though (the one i linked).

I don't know what would have happened to your ZU and the only thing I would suggest is to flash [NUT]'s rom that lordmanhatton linked to. This will wipe any userdata so back up stuff (should leave photos/music etc I think) but you will lose passwords/wifi keys/account settings/etc
I so want to quote lordmanhatton and wake him up...
got it. thanks
I want to give thanks to LORDMAN. and every body for your help. I've got my phone working again by flashing with flashtool. just like you toll me LORD Thanks again.

[Q] interesting update to Z2 17.1.1.A.0.402 R7A --> R8A

I bought Z2 today and it had 17.1.1.A.0.402 R7A firmware. the moment I connected to PC, it said I got an update and it was showing same build number. Took the risk of updating and the only change I found was Software ID change from R7A to R8A - rest all remain same.
any one can let me know if at all is a valid update (i beleive so as atleast software ID changed) and if so what are the changes? mine is 14W22
I remember it added Line app, and corrected h+ icon (previously it show LTE, which is wrong, I know my area don't have LTE yet). Other than that, I didn't notice any major different yet.
my software id is R10A, any significance to that? I only ask because I am not able to root this Z2 unlike my previous Z2s. towel root says it's not supported....still trying to figure out why.

So use easy root v9 and towelroot v3? I get the infamous M5 does not match error when I try that....maybe I'll try it on a different computer and see if that helps. I've disable my firewalls and uninstalled any antivirus programs but nothing helps this situation. I would think it would be easy to root. Very frustrating, once you root you cant go back :silly:
when you say add the towelroot app in folder, do you mean in the /files folder on the PC? Or in the easy root folder? Or install from phone?

returning to stock

can someone please direct me to returning my device back to stock and getting rid of root through the menu. I have the verizon version.
Flash latest firmware with Sony PC Companion.
That should do it.
Does that have the latest firmware on the website or do I have to locate my self?
PC Companion fetches the latest firmware for your region.
Oh, just saw that you have a Verizon model. Not sure if you can use PC Companion or if you need some other Verizon tool then... try and see if it recognizes your tablet.
As far as I know it doesn't. But oddly the old Sony updater tool does. U can find it at pediasoft or other download locations. Worked for mine.

The latest pc companion doesn't work for our Verizon devices. But the older and no longer used update service program does reset our devices for us. Just need to find the newest one, I think they stopped using it in April or February. I got mine from softpedia, but download it from where u can find it and trust. I just searched for it and that was the best looking one. Sony no longer supports this program, but it reset my tablet back to stock no problem.
