Looks like they are releasing this in 2 days!! http://pctabletcases.com/2012/01/18...-eee-transformer-prime-tf201-tablet-and-dock/
Best case hands down the brown is pretty classy!
*sigh*
More fricken leather....
Its a decent looking case but why can't we get a modern looking case using modern materials. I don't hate leather, but lets keep in in shoes and belts and off our our cutting-edge gadgets.
I rather prefer the "leather" or faux leather casings for tablets.
I feel like they tend to offer more style and can give the look of an actual accessory, which is pretty cool, IMO.
I sort of want this brown colorway. It's more "authentic" looking, compared to the black one.
Sent from one impressive piece of technology.
To each their own, of course. However there are currently a dozen or two options for people who want a "leather" style case, and practically none for people who don't like leather. Since the customers who want a leather style product are pretty covered it would just be nice if manufacturers would cater to everyone else for a while.
Thanks for the info, but i prefer the Black one...
Thanks for posting this, I really want a case that can accommodate the keyboard and dock that allows me to remove it and use it as a tablet with minimal fuss this maybe what I am looking for can't wait until it releases!
If there are any other cases like this please let me know.
Just ordered mine now... did overnight shipping after it is released officially, tomorrow.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using Xparent Cyan Tapatalk
Looks like it is release now. They have two different colors black and brown. The blog in link does a pretty good job in breaking down the pros and cons of all Asus Transformer Prime case.. Hey I just noticed that they said this case fits the TF700T are they same size???

i agree, plus all the leather cases have the same cheap look (online at least)
if someone could make a case out of canvas with contrasting colors and attractive stitching, i'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I hate how cheap they look......
Well read the specs, they are NOT leather.
Straight from minisuits spec....
"Made with premium poly-urethane leather"
What we used to call naugahyde or pleather. Some are upset that they cant find anything that isnt leather.....well here ya go! Its not. Me, IM paitiently waiting for one that IS REAL LEATHER!
Just received mine in the mail this afternoon, and I must say... the packaging is first class, and exquisite.
Secondly, the case is a perfect fit, very snug and durable.
Materials used... exceptional. Not to mention, it looks legitimately like leather.
I highly, highly recommend purchasing one of these cases from Amazon.

I find the smart cover case of my iPad 2 is ideal for typing in "landscape keyboard" mode. I haven't found any cases on eBay etc that do this except some really bulky/fugly ones. Has anyone found anything elegant/thin along the lines of the iPad 2 smart cover yet? I realize the GT7.7 doesn't have the logic to turn off when the cover is closed, I can live without that!
The original Samsung OEM case/cover looks very nice but doesn't seem to stand on its own in landscape keyboard mode

As long as the surface is not overly smooth, the Samsung Original Book Cover case does stand in landscape (thanks to rubber strips that adds friction). See pics. May not *look* especially stable, but it does seem to hold out nicely.
Ironically, I would like to see a case that allows my tab to stand in portrait mode, since I'm more likely to read that way. Never seen one before.
I have a case similar to the official iPad1 case. Very slim and snug fit. Doesn't add much to the size of the device, keeping the original slimness. Its faux leather on the outside and suede cloth inside. It has the same standing mechanism as the iPad1 case too. Comes in a few colours, I got the brown one.
I've been looking for exactly this type of case and was amazed they are made. I believe I can post images now and so I'll put some up later.

A similar one popped up on eBay last night for $25. Seller is in HK of course. What site did you find this on?
Tmall.com taobao.com
chinese webiste
that one cost RMB120
I found it at http://www.minihotsale.com/rock-sam...blet-light-cool-folio-leather-case_p1435.html
$35 shipped, not terrible. I like that it doesn't intrude on the bezel the way some of the other folios do.
Thanks cyuet for pointing me in the right direction! Will advise once received.

Thats the one. I personally prefer cases that give all round protection and this case does that. I find cases that only grip the corners can come loose over time, and badly made ones have terrible tolerances and may not even adequetly hold the device.
Thanks

I also think that a case like the smart cover for the ipad2 is ideal for the tab 7.7. I have seen those for the 10.1 and 8.9 on ebay, and I am pretty sure they will pop up for the 7.7 soon.

UK based case for £8.99
I just received this case i bought from ebay for the bargain price of £8.99 in the UK and delivered from the UK too.
Very pleased with it! I've tried the official case but this is much better. It even has magnets on the flap to stop it flapping open when carrying.

The one I ordered also has better protection at the bottom
Case from eBay
I snagged this one as it closely resembles the one I really like for my GTab 7+. Will post up pictures when I get it.
What stylus do you recomend to sony s, i want to right notes from classes
Please if possible ebay link
none
All of the ones that I know of have a rubber piece at the end and are not suitable for hand writing.
What I don't know is if the new Samsung firm stylus would work.
Hi guy! I've the typical cheap stylus, but I don't recommend you to take notes (I'm in university and it isn't easy to keep pace with him hehe).
A very good pencil is the Adonit jot, I haven't tried it but I've readed that is very good! But is very expensive too...
Link to the typical stylus (very cheap):

Ebay link:

Later, to take notes I recommend you the FreeNotes apk....is very easy and, for me, the best apk for this!! hehe. Free in the PlayStore!
Sorry for my english, I'm Spanish...
The best stylus for handwriting on the Sony S tablet that I've found found is the just mobile Allupen. It does take some getting used to and there is a slight delay. It is the only rubber tipped stylus I've run into that you can write with. Also your mileage may very depending on what app you're using to take notes. My personal fave is Freenote.
The adonit Jot works well too, but I thinks it's more suitable for drawing than writing as it will constantly be clicking against your screen if you even write moderately fast. Good for cursive though.
Another good option is the fabric tipped gogo stylus it's exactly the same as the fabric tipped aponyo stylus, but it's a little cheaper.
With any of these you have to get used to writing with them. It's not like writing with a pen. Also all the palm rejection software I've run into has been less then thrilling. I just wear fingerless gloves to solve that problem.
Good luck!
works great

I just got the Adoint Jot and it works fairly well,
http://adonit.net/product/jot/
I'm surprised people have gotten any stylus to work with the Tablet S. I've tried two different iFaraday styluses, which are supposed to be the most sensitive stylus available, as well as a Boxwave rubber tipped stylus, and a dirt cheap generic Ebay rubber tipped stylus. All of these tips trigger a strange constant double tapping action just by touching the tip to the screen. Extremely annoying when in the browser as this causes the screen to constantly zoom in and out. I pretty much just assumed the Tablet S screen simply can't handle styluses.
works perfect

Would you buy the Tuff-Luv Saddleback leather folio style case for your TFP + Dock if it came in black leather?
This case, but in black:
http://tuff-luv.com/saddleback-leat...-for-transformer-prime-tf201tablet-brown.html
I'd buy it if it weren't $130 and if it would fit better than the $20 one I have from Poetic, but it won't.
It definatley has much nicer materials, but it looks like it will suffer the same issue most Tablet/Keyboard cases do, which is that it won't close smoothly without putting strain on the hinge.
I have the Leather version of the Tuff-Luv case and didn't notice any of the issues you mention. Mind you I haven't used the Keyboard very often. Will test again this weekend and report.

Quickly looking over the photos of the Poetic case from Amazon I have noticed a few design differences from the Tuff-Luff one.
Should have a option in poll
How Much ? ... You must be Joking I would not pay that for a case
Then that would be my vote
Leather cases for modern electronics make your modern electronics look like they came from 1994. I would not pay ~$150 in order to make my device look like it came from 1994.

Holy crap your'e right, I should stop using a leather padfollio at my executive board meetings and just slap some monster energy drink decals on my tablet.
Really nice looking case, would actually consider a black one if it weren't for that price point, I mean whoa!

Now you're talking!
But seriously a case made of more modern materials made to look like it is made out of modern materials can be just as refined and professional looking or more than a leather case. It doesn't have to be pink or green or anything, it just needs to be light weight, sturdy and thin.
And it would be nice if it cost less than a hundred bones as well.
I know people hate comparisons to the iPad, but there are many really sleek case options for the iPad that look and feel modern and fit very well into the boardroom and I see them all the time at my own corporate meetings.

I do agree with what you're saying (as well as what others have said about the price point) however, the fact that the transformer prime is just one of a multitude of non-iPad tablets means that there won't be many case makers with a large selection of options for it. That being said, I'd have to say that as far as tri-fold folio cases go Tuff-luv does make one of the nicer ones IMO.
There's also the case made by Noreve http://www.noreve.com/langue/en/product/Asus_Eee_Pad_Transformer_Prime_TF201_Tradition_B_leather_case.html which is nice, but again the price point is way up there (I suppose you're paying for a custom order on a limited production item as well as the brand) and it seems to me to be more of a unified cover for the tablet + dock as opposed to being dock detachable like the one provided by Tuff-luv.
After a long wait till the prices came down I have upgraded to a note pro from a 10.1 2012 edition. I love it so far. I have been using Taobao for a while to buy various accessories Using Yoybuy as a shipping agent. I got my genuine samsung keyboard £30 it is the real thing. The only difference is the box and instructions is in Chinese. I started to look at spens. I found wacom bamboo stylus feel Selling for $1.64 I do have one as I am a designer and I have ordered a couple. It is worth a look for cases etc. Google translate comes in handy.
$1.64 for the stylus sounds wrong. Maybe it's a knockoff?

yes it does seem like an amazing price. I bought a couple so will keep you posted. I can always turn them into spen holders! Though I did get a bargain atomgsm.Co.uk are selling off all the samsung moschino and kirkwood offical note pro flip covers for only £11.69 I do like the black kirkwood one.

The Wacom technology is patented, so it's no doubt a fake.
Still, if it works, it's probably still cheaper to just toss it in the bin when it breaks after a month or two and get a new one, you could do about 40 months for the price of the original.

There are a lot of fakes on the site mainly flip covers. But you can tell as the inner lining is always grey no matter what colour. A lot of generic spens definitely fake. Though there are originals as well.
The cheapest price I could get for an original samsung keyboard case here in the uk is $122. But got an original one from there for less than half the price Including shipping. I also got an original samsung bluetooth spen the one you can receive calls from For $24. It came out with the original note 10.1 2012. The price never really came down Works a treat with the note pro. Plus it comes with the full range of spen nibs from soft rubber to hard plastic. Which I got with my old note 10.1 2012 but sadly with my note pro just standard tips. If you are an artist or a designer the different nibs as well as calibration of the pen make a difference that's why I have a few pens.
But you are probably right about the wacom pen I am not holding my breath but it was worth the gamble.

Both, which is why I have 3 Bamboo Feels and 3 Spens for the same reason.
But I'm still miffed that my Intuos pen won't work on it. Different tech, I know; a girl can dream, right?
I've got a ton of stuff from china as well, some of it original, but for the serious accessories I prefer something with a warranty and quality certifications. The EU has a much, much higher legal quality demand than the US, let alone Asia. (You can notice the difference in the build quality of phones and tablets.)
Still, somtimes the low price is worth the shorter lifespan.

I thought intuos pen would work too but no joy either. Any other pens you could recommend? I have spen with eraser, bamboo feel, bt spen, note 3 pen 10.1 2011. Is it worth getting the spen holder or going for another bamboo feel? A girl can't have too many pens. The spen I got with my note pro the calibration was completely off the nibb sticks.......Hopefully a new nibb will sort it.
Any tips on drawing on the note or apps would be appreciated as there is always something new to discover.

What I did do was place the second rubber grip I got with the Intuos pen over the Bamboo feel. Bit of a tight fit, but now I've got a Bamboo pen with a very comfortable grip! (It doesn't look very pretty, but oh well.)
Haven't found a solution for the button yet, but it does make holding it whilst drawing much easier.
Haha, yea, I had to recalibrate all but one of the Bamboo pens. Nearly lost the button for the original Spen to the carpet in the process!
I've never tried the Spen holder, truth be told.
Here's a couple of apps to give a try :
Artflow: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bytestorm.artflow
Infinite Painter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brakefield.painter

For writing, lettering and sketching in one I love Papyrus. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.steadfastinnovation.android.projectpapyrus It has an option to write with the pen and erase with your finger for Spen devices.
INKredile is a Vector writing/sketching app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viettran.INKredible&hl=en I use this for creating handwriting fonts, exporting it as a transparent png, loading it in Illustrator, image trace > 254 threshold + Ignore Whites > Expand > tweak > Place in Fontlab
And then there's Snapseed. Not quite a 'specially made for the Spen' app, but the Spen makes it that much more accurate! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.niksoftware.snapseed&hl=en (Made by NIK Software, the company behind NIKefex, who were bought by Google).

Yea, it's good. Still doesn't reach the level of its parent ColorEFEX (Which requires a full version of PHotoshop CS4 or higher), but it's a good dressed-down version.
