Search is down at the moment and I'm getting nowhere with Google so apologies if this has been asked already. I've managed to set up custom notifications and ringtones ok but for some reason the alarm application isn't picking up my media, it is showing a single custom file (a Google hangouts file) although there doesn't seem to be any reason why it's seeing that one and not any others. I have restarted the device but that's made no difference.
Thanks,
John
As on all my android devices I put them in /sdcard/alarms/
Anywhere. Just use sound picker (build in application) or a file explorer for choice the song you want.

Thanks for the prompt responses. When I open sound picker I only get a list of items and I don't get the choice to browse the file system that I can see. I went into the apps and removed sound picker as the default, I now get the choice of media storage as well as sound picker but it doesn't give an option to browse the file system either.

On sound picker you need to click on the top right corner, you have the music sign. There you'll find the music.

I did try that but it didn't show the track I was looking for possibly because it was in ogg format. Creating the alarms folder as recommended and putting the file in there has worked fine, showed up straight away through sound picker so I have it set up as I want now.
Thanks for the replies,
John

Ok, if you said it was ogg from the beginning it would have been easier.

I'm having a couple of problems with my music collection and I have not been able to find a fix for on google, here or precentral.
The first problem is that album art is not displaying correctly anywhere. The art shows up in my pictures and looks fine. In the native media player 1/2 the albums are black and 1/2 display a question mark. In AudiophileHD a few display the right art, 1/2 of them display a picture that appear to be corrupted, some display question marks and some show a picture of a record. I attached an example at the bottom.
The second problem is that when I add music to audiophile by selecting "play all" it plays the songs in alphabetical order. They show up in the correct order on the album, but unless I add each song individually they play in alphabetical order.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audiophile. I've also deleted and reloaded my music without any change. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks a bunch!

Anyone?
Sorry, I don't check XDA regularly (you just got lucky today). I am updating the metadata parser in Audiophile to better detect embedded image art. Hopefully by next week if should be in the developer build. New version will also have lag free scrolling and a bunch of other features. Thanks for the patience, and please post over at PreCentral in the future if you want a response.
Hello all,
So I hate repetitiveness in the UI so I have swapped the dedicated VM button with an "goto/initiate SMS" button. We already have a voicemail button by pressing or dialing one why do we need two?

Glad to see you around here
very cool.
Any chance you can make the dialer numbers scalable as well? (for alternate DPI?)
Forcing the log button to stick on what you want logged would be great too. Right now, if you hit log or the press the green phone button, you get a log of all calls and SMS messages. You can switch it in the menu but it reverts right back to log all. I loved how my cappy would show you logs of just the phone calls made/recieved.
Nice + 1 setimg up now

Is it possible to have the Google Voice sms instead? Thanks ChanceM!
Works great even with Google voice messaging. Thanks bro

Hate to ask but how do i install this? I tried uninstalling contacts in titanium backup and restarting first, but when I tried to install the apk it just said "not installed", I do have unknown sources allowed in settings.

Place it in system/app (to replace the existing one) via root explorer (and fix the permissions to match everything else in the folder, rw-r-r).
Is this for stock?

This does not work on a stock/rooted phone. Maybe on a custom rom but pushed it on a stock phone and the SMS button takes me to voicemail.

[Q] ►►► RingTone , notification, whatsapp tones auto changing to DEFAULT tone in ICS
Hi ,
I have Micromax A100 which has ICS OS. Problem is that when i set my customize tones for Ringtone, SMS, Notification, Whatsapp etc. After sometime it changes to boring stock tones. I dont understand how it changes back to default tone. I tried all d way to change but it works for 2-3 hours and suddenly changes to Micromax inbuilt ringtone.
Somebody said its because of Ram booster APP, i uninstalled that, but no use. I tried ZEDGE app to set tones but it changes auto to default after 2-3 hours. And also at the same time my MUSIC player stops recognizing MUSIC files also and it shows zero files.
somebody help me plz.
I'm attaching screenshots here.

I have it also at my Alcatel OT-997D. It is an Android bug that some companies solved it and some not. Also the Nexus phones have it, multiple HTC's, Motorola Droid etc

The Google Play Sound Search widget can help you recognize music and songs playing around you.
Google Ears or Google Play Sound Search widget is a new widget and service which works like shazzam,TrackID etc.
Thanks and credits to asdfzz for all his trouble making this work.
Thanks also to koradiavatsal for testing.
Since Google play Music and all that is not available in my country (that's Greece)
widget will not keep history or take you to market to buy songs if your country not supported
BUT the sound recognition works and of course you can find...What's this song Enjoy.
THE WIDGET IS TRANSPARENT SO IT CAN ADJUST TO ANY PHONE THEME
Tested and working on ICS .587
INSTALLATION & DOWNLOADS
The Widget and the library is needed to work.
Move both files to SD card
With Root Explorer or similar move the lib to system/lib (if it is already there replace the file) and fix permissions to rw-r-r and
move the apk to system/apps and fix permissions to rw-r-r.
Reboot phone, put widget on desktop and you are ready :good:
Get the lib from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/b2oyyhjsh91wyii/libvorbisencoder.so
Get the apk from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/riipsgt0ljv2kso/GoogleEars_tranp.apk
Rom Devs if you are going to include that in any Rom pls pm me and give proper credits.
Please if download it and works good or not for you share a comment with the rom you are using etc so we can help each other if there is a problem and do not forget...
Press the THANKS button and Enjoy
