[Q] Booting fails [black screen] - HTC Desire X

Hey,
today I thought I could flash a new rom on my desire x again. It wasn't a special thing to me because I did this very often and everything went perfectly. So I did a full wipe, flashed the flumix rom, rebooted to fastboot and flashed the flumix-boot.img. Everything worked and I wanted to boot the system. You can see the typical HTC logo with the red text under it. But after that the screen becomes black. Only black and nothing happens. I have tried to wipe everything again, flashed other roms, other boot.imgs, other recoverys but my phone just stopps booting and shows the black screen. I can boot to bootloader and to recovery, flashing boot.imgs or roms seem to work.. Can anybody help me?

I used the Install-boot-img.bat from fulmix / the "flash kernel" option from the Desire X All In One Toolkit.

Ok that's probably the reason fulmix doesn't work either.
When you are in fastboot and plugged into the computer go to the boot.img installer folder where the ''fastboot.exe'' is located
hold shift and right click anywhere in the folder and choose the ''open cmd'' option.
then type in ''fastboot devices'' and look if your device is showing up in the cmd.
If it is not, reisntall htc drivers or htc sync manager and try again

No, it's not broken but there goes something wrong when installing boot.img or with booting the rom.
Try another USB port on your computer.

Look at Development section, you will find SuperWipe script by me, use it and after that, flash ROM and boot.img.
It will erase also data partition so all your games, etc.

Fixed it!

I'm fairly embarrassed to even have put myself into this situation, mainly because I have no idea how I did it, and even less of one how to fix it.
My issue is this: I went ahead and unlocked the BL on the Rezound today, and then installed CWM Touch recovery (first). After that I went and installed CleanROM. Did the update in HBOOT like it told me to. No problem. After setting up the Rezound again, I loaded some music onto my memory card, and then noticed nothing showed up (media), so I decided to reset the phone. I used the power button to do so. So the phone rebooted.
Then it just sat on the HTC screen, which it now continues to do.
So what I have done is this:
Tried to reflash the ROM (no luck)
Tried using Amon Ra recovery instead (all I get is a black screen, but I know it is "working" because I hear my computer connect to it)
Tried flashing a different ROM (nothing)
Tried using the PH file from CleanROM to see if it would boot up (nope)
So now I'm stuck, and I have no idea what happened!
Can anyone help, or is this thing toast?
It's worth noting that the only recovery that seems to work is CWM (touch or not), Amon Ra won't display anything on the screen (both 3.14 and 3.13). Also that when it turns on the HTC comes up, then disappears and comes up again.
I have been searching and trying things for about two hours now, so at this point I'm ready to chuck it in the trash.
Edit, nevermind read that wrong, it isn't in a bootloop.
Try to flash the kernel from fastboot and see if that helps.

Yup, that's the only way I can get into recovery. It just tries to install it again and again if I don't.
My SD card has the CleanROM and the Stock Rooted Rom on it, nothing else.

The phone doesn't need to be booted fully to run the RUU? I was going to run the .exe one and it said it needed to be on.
I'll try that, nothing else has worked.
Sounds like you need to push the boot.img using fastboot. If you dont have fastboot and all that installed you can get it from CleanFLASH 1.0. You need to make sure you have the correct boot.img or it will continue to be stuck. Also flashing it through hboot sometimes just doesn't work. Thats why you need to push it via fastboot.
Clean flash HERE
Just put the attached boot.img into the cleanboot folder. Open a command prompt into that folder. Put the phone in hboot and fastboot USB run the following command in the command prompt: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Note you must have the HTC drivers installed for fastboot to work.

Hmmm, mine does not do that.
So maybe that is the problem. I'm gonna restart my computer, now that HTC Sync has installed. Are all HTC Drivers the same? I had Sync installed from when I had an Inspire 4G, but maybe the drivers for the Rezound are different.
This could be my problem.

Do you have the International or ATT One X+? If you didnt do a nandroid backup first then you need to re lock the bootloader and then run the RUU for your phone. The phone should be in fastboot mode with the bootloader locked and attached to computer via USB. Then you should be able to run the RUU which will restore your phone to stock settings. If you tell me which carrier you have i'll point you to the correct RUU.

Download a ROM and flash it. I'd recommend one of these: http://d-h.st/users/Captain_Throwback/?fld_id=10308#files (just get the odexed one)
To get the file onto the device, connect it to a computer with a USB cable, and then go to the mount menu and press the mount USB storage button. You can copy the file over to the phone once it's downloaded, and choose the install option in recovery to install it. That should get you back up and running.

Try this first. I recommend flashing MeanBean or one of the ROM's suggested above due to the ease of installation since you're S-on. You can download the ROM to your internal storage as instructed above. Once you do this, you need to do a wipe in recovery (although it sounds like it's already wiped). Afterwards, flash the ROM zip file. Follow the instructions in the MeanBean thread, or Captain's instructions so that you get the ROM properly flashed. Afterwards, once you are up and running, backup your setup using TWRP.
If you have problems with your internal storage, go ahead and format it then do the steps above.

Do you have the HTC USB drivers installed ? Check your laptop device manager - Android USB devices - do you have My HTC there ?
You keep saying "device not found" means there is no driver installed.
If there is no driver - download HTC Sync Manager - http://www.htc.com/www/software/htc-sync-manager/
Also to flash fulmix boot.img, just use the fulmix.ROM_boot.img-Installer.zip; you don't need other thing.

You CAN'T flash fulmix boot.img on hboot 1.24.

So save the hassle, search any ICS ROM and its boot.img. Flash that.
