I got a new phone and activated it before I unrooted and relocked my rezound. Is there a way to relock the bootloader and unroot without it being activated? When I try to do the adb reboot bootloader command it tells me the device is offline. So maybe this means I have to re-activate and then send it back to stock?
Thanks.

Pretty sure you can just pop the SIM from the new phone in the old one and its active again... The SIM is what's activated, not the phone itself.

Hi I have a attic that has a data problem and am going to return it to warranty, I want to try out 2.3.4 but you need to unlocked the bootloader, but is there a way to relock it so I can still have it under warranty. Also I have been trying to flash the 1.26 SBF file from www.bandinnovations.com and everytime I try to unzip it says broken something or other. Is there another link to try? Thanks

Look for 1.26 in the dev section
They probably won't even check. I warranted mine yesterday because my fingerprint scanner was peeling. I was rooted with gingerblur, and couldn't even do a factory reset, so I had to go into Android Recovery and wipe data from there, but the rep didn't even ask what I was doing, or anything. DSCs (Device Support Centers) are usually franchise stores; in other words, they don't really care too much, just there for their $8/hr.

No way to relock after unlocking the bootloader. It's a hardware lock/unlock, not software.
It may be spotted at AT&T store or service center. If they turn the phone on the first thing they will see is "unlocked" in the upper left corner. Per what it says when you unlock your phone, this "MAY" void your warranty. Don't listen to advice saying they won't care at the service center. The one where I live does everything they can to get your phone back working before replacing it. Been there a couple of times.
You can remove the "unlocked" in the boot screen by flashing back to 4.1.26, 4.1.57, etc., but the phone is still unlocked, it just won't say unlocked anymore unless you reflash the unlock, after which it will be on the boot screen again.
I would say if you are returning it, don't unlock the bootloader.
I searched for this before but got nothing but unlock threads. I'm trying to search now but the search is down. I unlocked my phone using the app in the market and have to send it in for a warranty replacement. I was wondering how do I relock the phone?
Thanks.
Backup everything to your computer, then follow this guide and flash back to stock. Also backup, then wipe your sd card.

I already have it back to stock but from the reading I've done this still keeps the phone unlocked. Does this lock my phone or do I have to manually relock it?
Thanks.

Why are you trying to carrier lock your phone again? It's not like Samsung/T-Mobile is going to care.

No need to re lock. Tmo will give you unlock codes if you ask. Sim unlocking will not be an issue

ok thanks,i will give thanks all for reply my question.
The phone comes with the sim unlocked. You can use it with another carrier's sim card without any extra steps. (You may need to verify compatility of the radios/frequencies).
There is a second lock on the phone - the bootloader. You will see many threads regarding unlocking the bootloader, as well as "rooting" - getting superuser access. Unlocking the bootloader has nothing to do with the sim. Unlocking/locking the bootloader will not affect the sim card lock (or lack thereof).
It is, and always will be(unless Verizon tries to update it and lock it down), sim unlocked. So you can use any sim in it.
But it is not boot loader unlocked stock. You have to do that yourself.

thanks my fri.
i am getting ready to send my device back for a warranty exchange. in following the steps, like i have done twice before, i accidentally jumped ahead....
I did the Fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 BEFORE i flashed the lock bootloader zip. The phone still boots and functions normally, but i can't flash the lock bootloader zip, it fails, even though it says unlocked tampered.
Anyone have any suggestions?? I am at a loss, and not sure if there is a command i can run to revert this all back.
My wife was nagging me and i scrolled down and jumped ahead like a total noob. thanks for any help!
And yes everything is accessible still, cwm, adb, the phone itself, etc etc. it functions fine...
Run s-off. After that follow guide in order
Since you're unlocked still face palm should work. Just follow after the point you unlock.
If not any new method will work

Ehhh. It says may. Plus there is a way to get it back to an s-on **LOCKED** state. HTC's unlock tool doesn't log your device ID and IMEI and remote void your warranty like Asus' unlock util does.

Doesn't the phone have to be complete stock when you do the unlock code? Once you unlock the SIM and put your new SIM in then you unlock the bootloader and do your root. Not sure but it could be the reason.

Hmm. Im stock just rooted and bootloader unlocked. I dnt think that would affect the unlocking procedure. But then again, im unsuccessful so far. I will try to revert to complete stock. And try the code again. Also should i revert back to jellybean? Or kitkat fine?

I would think as long as it is stock the version would not matter.

ok. i downloaded an RUU file. legit and with matching MD5. when i run it it asks to update to 4.20.502.1 ....from my 4.18.502.7. should i stay away from upodating it to 4.20.502.1 ....or its ok?
update: i have reverted back to stock 4.4.2
i removed s-off and locked the bootloader. and RUUed the 4.4.2 update.
but i am still getting incorrect code.
so frustrating.
I'm in the same boat. All stock kit Kat. Unlocked boot and rooted. If I figure it out will post here & would do like wise.
