I've finally pin pointed the cause why my phone is heating up.
I'm using stock JB 4.2 Rom right now and whenever my phone is in WCDMA mode the upper part heats up and then restarts itself after a while.
So i switched to GSM only mode, and the phone stops heating up.
Anyone has an idea what can be done with this scenario?

So i've had this problem with my i9300T SIII for a while now what happens is ill get to about 1 or 2% battery basically right when the phone is about to die. The screen will flicker not on/off but the level of brightness in horizontal lines, and either eventually lock up or turn off. If i even attempt to reboot the phone after this has occurred 90% of the time i end up with a boot loop.
I would then have to hold the power button until the phone turns off but even after i charge it after this point a lot of the time it seems this has corrupted part of the memory on my phone where the only way i can successfully boot again is by factory resetting. This has started to become quite frustrating :\ i am now having to force myself to charge my phone before trying to turn it on again lol
So my main question is would this be hardware related? I am running Cyanogenmod 10.1 Nightlies.
If this is hardware related would i be able to send it into Samsung and get it fixed?
If its not hardware then what can i do about this?
HELP, am on V41 with boeffla V10 Omni, I woke up unplugged the phone after 10 min its a bit hot, then after using play music for another 10 min the song I was playing stopped suddenly then few mins later the phone shut down and I couldn't open it again, the phone was a bit hot, I left it to cool tried to switch back on but no use, plugged it to charger then I was able to open it and noticed a sudden huge battery drain from 80 to 19% I bought a new battery, but now my odd problem is that my wifi not working properly as yesterday before I slept, it has a very week signal that I have to be sitting beside the router to get connected, any ideas please???
P.S: I wiped everything, I installed stock 4.1.2 and 4.3 but nothing happened, I also turned wifi saving mode off but still the problem persists. Would also like to add that with emmc check I had yes, Insane
If you are back to stock then try another wifi source, otherwise you have a hardware fault.

But We All Know About SOD, Whenever SOD Arises And Network Goes to No Sim Card Found/Insert Sim Card Coz We have No IMEI or Bandwidth Problem...After Continuous Restart Sometimes More than 7 Times Still dsn't work... That The only Movement we think about switching our Phone Or Go Back to MIUI...

When Ever This Happen Simply Put Your Phone On Airplane Mode And Restart And The After Your Phone Starts Switch off Airplane Mode And Network Will Automatically Come....Witout Any Problem...
Setting>More>Switch Airplane Mode On
Hold Power Button And Restart, After Phone Gets Bootup Goto
Setting>More>Switch Airplane Mode Off
This Trick Works For Me Hope It Will Work For You Too...."All The Best"
This will definitely work.
I suggest before restarting your phone (Whatever reason for restart) just SWITCH ON AIRPLANE MODE and after restart TAKE IT OFF. That's all.

fixed my sim card not detected problem with bending one of the sim pins after opening phone, it was bent badly b4, xiaomi mi3
If the SIM card tray is damaged (for example, a piece of plastic is chipped off or a metal plate is deformed), this can be the cause of the problem when the Xiaomi smartphone does not see the SIM card.
I had such a situation on my Mi 3. In the service center they could not find the cause of the problem, I found it myself.
I hope this information will help to somebody.
Hi there
I upgraded my Galaxy Alpha to android 5.0.2 via OTA but it seems that it ruins my device completely. Let me explain what happened to my phone after I upgraded it.
The mobile network disappears frequently. My phone even when it has more than 50% battery powers itself off suddenly (like removing PC power cord from outlet). Sometime it happens just after the network bar disappears. And when I try to turn the device on, after about 20 minutes it turns on with the exact same battery charge (ie. 50%).
Sometimes when I open the camera the occurrence occurs (network bar disappear and phone blacks out)
The battery doesn't seem to be hot or the system works smoothly without any overheating and it seems that everything is fine. I flashed the device with new ROM to see if there is something wrong with the update but it was to no avail.
I attached my device info.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.
it been a month since that happen and now i put it on charge and at first, the charging cable icon was blinking and then it tried to boot and the go turned off again then, after a while the charging cable icon came back but now it's not blinking and I am stuck there, it won't hard or soft boot and I can't get it to boot into recovery mode nither can I get into download mode, I have the twrp and EvolutionXos for this I just need to get the phone into recovery mode, what do I do now??.
thanks,
please help me if you can.
It maybe that during the Rooting process the phone disabled it's soft limit to cap the hardware to a certain point so that it wouldn't overheat. Was your phone unbearably hot when you were using it? Because if it was then it may be a hardware issue them software.

no, it wasn't hot, I don't think it is a hardware issue as once after it got switched off I was able to boot it into download mode, for some reason now, I can't boot it into download mode.
