Seidio Surface Problems - Seidio Uncooperative - DO NOT BUY - Galaxy Note 3 Accessories

Well, I have a Surface case for my Note 3 (VZW).
I noticed that the magnet on the kickstand interferes with the S-pen. I have called Seidio multiple times, and each time, they claim to be "Testing the issue, and will call me back". I've yet to receive a call back, or any information on if they're seeing the same issues.
To describe the issue, when I'm writing or drawing on the screen directly above where the kickstand magnet is located, the cursor jumps around, and draws lines all over the place. If I flip the kickstand out, the issue disappears.
Seidio has done nothing but take my phone number and promise a call back after they've tested the problem.
I've had cases from them for years for various phones, the Droid Charge, the SGS3, etc., and this is the first issue I've ever had with them, but their customer service is quite dissatisfactory in this instance.
I'd request and RMA online, but this is the only decent case with a belt clip that I've found.

Good to know, thanks for the heads up.

I have the Seidio Surface case (black) /w kickstand as a secondary case, so I tested it after you posted this. While in Sketchbook or in Action Memo or any writing app, drawing or writing right above where the kickstand is, I don't have this issue. My cursor doesn't jump around or anything. So if there is an issue, it's not noticeable to me.

I have the platinum case from best buy and I have noticed this issue too. I don't think there is anything that can be done about it. It's really not a huge issue even with the kickstand closed, and opening it completely eliminates the problem so not a big deal

Just received my surface case today..screen didn't jump around at all..don't care for the case to be honest..not as good as I thought it would be..guess I'll be waiting for otterbox

I was planning on the the seidio active. I guess I'll just wait until it's on amazon since there is no hassle returns.

I would bet that the Active would not have this issue, as there is more between the magnet and phone. In fact, I will most likely try to get a refund for the surface, and be purchasing an Active. I have not found a better belt clip system than Seidio's which is why this issue made me angry, their stuff is usually top-notch.

You guys have me worried now, because mine is in the mail being shipping over as we speak. I didn't know there was a magnet in this thing...why is it even needed... =/

Another surface owner here. I am not having any issues whatsoever with the magnet. It does not interfere with the. S pen at all on my device.

I had the surface for the past few days and I haven't experienced any issue with it this far.

The OP's title says do not buy, but it would appear that others are not having the same issue he is.

I have had it for two days not and been trying to replicate this and I am still unable to see any issues with the magnets and s-pen.

Had the case for a couple of days with no problems, spen works great and NFC works great also if anyone was worried.

I recently bought and returned this case due to the bottom right side mic being covered by the case. I also didn't like the extra weight the case added to the phone, loved the kick stand however.

Swivel case

So I was searching for a replacement case because I'm really unhappy with my poetic slim case. I was searching on Overstock and came across this swivel case, and im in love. I've seen one similar for the ipad, but did not know one existed for the transformer. It leaves access for all ports, has a hard plastic back covered with that fake leather type feeling material. The transformer can rotate 360 degrees in the case as well as stand. The case does not add much bulk, but protects all sides, screen, and back. It closes with an elastic strap. I'm really happy with this new case!

Yep, I have about the same case, I purchased mine off Amazon. It's superb. My only complaint is that it's somewhat easy for the TF to fall out of the grooves when you have it propped up. Still, works great for what I wanted.

Glad to hear you like it. I just ordered the same one from Hand held items. They have it for 17. 99, and I had a $5 off cupon it was under $16. Shipped.

Yes, very good case. Most case has cut opening on the corner and the tablet will dent if drop. This case covers all corner and it is very solidly build. There is the two and three groove version, get the two groove one. Mine holds the tablet very well and doesnt came off easily.
We just received ours and I could not be happier. It's exactly what I wanted out of the case.

Thanks for the heads up on this case!
I have a couple questions. How easy is it to remove for those of us who have the dock? Also if you fold the lid back how flat does it lay like if you were to read with it?
Interested, may buy one.

It is pretty easy to remove the case. It holds the tablet very securely, but is easy to take out. And the lids folks back 2 ways. Either close to the swivel point, our in the muddle if the case. either way, it lays very flat.
Is it dockable? I only ask because the picture on overstock has a dock showing. If not its still a nice case for the price.

Not to bump an old thread, but is this case available with 3 angles instead of just two? How well does the plastic housing protect the tablet? I'm assuming is not removable like the RooCase as well.
Actually this case was the second one I bought..
I love this case... the TF is easy to put in it and remove it (while still being secure) and I dont own a dock so I cant say as to that, but other than it slipping out of the grooves sometimes its the best case I have seen... this is my new go to..
Are any of the cameras obstructed by the case? My original case I replaced (rooCase) had camera holes as small as those and the back camera looked like it had a circular vignette. The front camera only became affected when the case shifted a bit. Looks like this case would have similar issues, even though I love the rotatable aspect.

Seidio LEDGER View with Metal Kickstand

Since we are stuck waiting for Spigen to say yes or no and then waiting some more for them to actually make the Slim Armor View and then ship it (could be 1-2 months if ever) I went on and found another case that will do pretty much the same thing and do it quite well plus the added metal kickstand isn't a bad addition. I bring you the
Seidio LEDGER™ View with Metal Kickstand you can get it in Grey/Grey or Red/Grey and it will be shipping in a couple of weeks. Amazon.com also has it listed as shipping in 1-3 weeks http://www.amazon.com/Seidio-LEDGER...80763126&sr=8-3&keywords=Seidio+LEDGER+Note+3 and the Red/Grey combo ships in 2-3 weeks http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FFD611Y...TF8&colid=19FEXKB01KSRQ&coliid=I19D08TX7EL1G0
So I think its worth looking at, checking out and I am ordering mine asap since I can't wait any longer.

I'm still waiting for a battery cover only with kick stand. everything so far seems to be a full on case/bulky as thing..
I think this is the case I'm going to get as well. I just hope it offers some level of protection if you drop it. It's between this and their active case. I do like that armor case, hope they make it.

The big thing for me with this case would be the ability to stay closed. If it includes magnets that keep the cover closed, as well as having full sview functionality as well as a kickstand, I will be buying this case.

Has anyone asked them if the S View function works like the Samsung original?
I have no doubts it will. Seidio has always been one of the better company's IMHO. side note, I picked up Samsung s view for my girl, offers no real protection. Disappointed for spending $60.

YES, it can! My girl dropped it many times - nothing happened!
What do you think - will the S Charger Kit work, when the Note is in its Seidio Case ACTIVE® with Metal Kickstand? BTW - The Thickness of The Charger Kit is 2 mm larger, maybe it fits the case.
What is with the other functions as NFC, Beam - will this work with this case? A magnet and metal could maybe disturb some features.
If the Ledger have all the function of S View cover ... it's a MUST HAVE !
The kickstand is very important for me but only 2 dreams are missing : first not holster, i need to have a belt clip and second, the kickstand is only in landscape without portrait mode.
and still no cut out for the notification led. Sview needs a dock mode feature then I could live without notifications

So since this cover is dead now... any other replacements i.e. a slim cover with a window and a kickstand?

Easily removable case for swapping batteries?

One of my favorite features of the Note and S series phones is the removable battery. I'd like to be able to easily swap out the battery while still using some kind of case. I bought a SUPCASE Hybrid on Amazon, but it's so tight and difficult to remove that I'm afraid I'll eventually hurt the phone by taking it off once or twice per day. It's also pushing my screen protector up at the sides because it's so damned tight.
I had one of these cases for the Galaxy Note 2, and it worked very well. It was stretchy enough that I could take it off and put it back on all the time without fearing that I was going to damage the case or phone.
Has anyone found a case like this for the Note 3 that allows easy access to the battery of the phone? I'd pay $100 if I could get one of those Body Glove cases for the Note 3.
I'm considering buying a Seidio Surface because it looks like it might be easy to work with. (Top and bottom seem to slide off rather than needing to be peeled off.)
I have a feeling that I'm not the only one here who's particular about this, so I figured I'd make a post. Any ideas anybody? Thanks in advance.

Searching around on Samsung's online store and it doesn't look like they have them up for the Note 3 yet... shame.
The S-View case is the easiest thing in the world to take off in under a second really, also the other day I put my Caseology case on forgetting to put my battery cover on first and walked around all day like that without any problems lol. But umm yea the S-View if you simply pull on the case it snaps right off the back and it is very thin and light.

I went to a local T-Mobile store tonight and they had way more GNote 3 stuff in stock than I expected. They had a "buy two, get one free" sale so I picked up a S-View and two cases for less than $100. I really like how the S-View feels compared to Samsung's previous flip covers, but it disappoints me that the notification LED is still covered up. It didn't occur to me until after I'd walked out that this flip cover will also totally defeat the usefulness of the "Dynamic Notifications" app which I'm currently in love with.

Yup! Tech21 is one of the three cases I got tonight and it's the one I'm most happy with right now. It feels very solid, looks good and is pretty easy to slip off. There's just enough lip to prevent the touchscreen from touching my desk when I place it face down, but not enough to make it difficult to remove. It peels off way easier than the other cases of this type I've tried. :good:
I can tell you from using the flip cover for Note II, any Samsung official flip/s-view case is going to be the easiest option for wapping batteries, I do it every day and can't wait to get one for my Note III
Spiegen Bounce case is super easy to take off yet is still very protective.

I am very happy with the quality of this case. The one issue I had with it was that it had no clasp. I do not like the idea of dropping this and having the front flip open and it land screen down. That would kind of defeat the whole purpose of having a case like this. So I modified mine with a leather strap and button clip to close it.

It feels like real leather as I believe it is. Granted it is thin as they use hard backing to make up most of the thickness, but it is holding up very well and I am very pleased with the quality. I get compliments on it all the time when I go shopping or to the bank.:good:

Well that one looks nice to. I think they both use the same leather. At least that is what it looks like. The only reason I did not go with that one is that I wanted four card slots rather then three. I like the clear fourth slot for the ID so I do not have to pull out my DL all the time. But that seems to be the only difference I can tell as far as quality and function. At least yours comes with a clasp so you do not have to modify like I did.

So, got the case today. It's highly impractical for everyday use.
* It has VERY sharp corners so do NOT put it in your pockets.
* If you want to text, the cover part bends behind and is IN the way of your left hand while you text
* The cover doesn't close flush with the device screen when closed and sitting on a desk
* The material, while it seems sturdy, feels REALLY cheap and made out of cardboard. Just feels cheap.
* If you fold the cover back when you place this case on your desk, it sits VERY awkwardly on the desk at a weird angle.
* If you want to take a picture, HOW do you take a picture with the cover closed? The camera is exposed in the back, but how if you open the cover and it hangs down, it is just * impractical to take pictures.
* The inside cover of the case is cardboard. I would NEVER put a card (only room for one) in the slot. I would be VERY afraid of it ripping and the card falling out.
I'm not sure when this is meant to be used? If you hold the device in your hand and you are playing a game or texting, the cover is very bulky that makes it very difficult to use in your hands.
All in all, I wouldn't use this as an every day case. It's a LOT more bulky when opened back on itself for use.
The sharp corners are SCARY in my pocket. I scratched my leg at least 4 times during the course of 3 hours.
The case is now sitting on my desk unused.
Recommendation:
Nice idea. Bad execution. Impractical case.

Found a tough case at a great price

Got this case off of EBay delivered for $32. It's called a PEPKOO ULTIMATE. I think Love Me and possibly another company makes some almost identical. They are aluminum with Gorilla glass screen protector, screws together instead of snaps like an Otterbox and doesn't get all the dirt and trash around the sides of the screen. I've been using mine for a month now and thought I would share my review of it. It's tough, cool looking and I have no complaints. Don't forget it was $32.
uhm, good!

You could have gotten it cheaper too on Ebay. It's the same case as the Love MEI series. Those are $23 on ebay.
Also your cell reception just took a dive by half because of the aluminum. I only use mine when I go snowboarding. The extra weight adds to my balance, lol.
I saw after I ordered it about the s-pen complaints and I don't have any trouble. I'm always somewhere the signal is great so that hadn't been an issue. I would have loved the even cheaper priced one but compared to an otterbox, This case is king. I've had an otterbox for every phone I've had in the last 6 years, starting with a blackberry and had to constantly take it apart and clean dirt and dust out of it. I never have to do that with this one. I stand firm and recommend this case or an identical copy over otterbox any day. If I paid $ 40 I would still be satisfied.

Yeah I definitely recommend it to anyone who can put up with those things. I like the comments I get when I whip it out(no pun intended). People always ask in amazement if it's a phone and what phone it is. Then again I have the original model so it's even bigger than the new slimmer ones which I might get soon.

I just have a question, where exactly did you see this for so cheap? The only link I can find on Amazon is for $69:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00HFMUVG4/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
I got it off of eBay. I work in the oilfields of West Texas and we have some rough weather, especially dust storms. With the otterbox I was having to take it apart every couple of days to clean the dirt and dust that would make its way inside it. Then the abrasive dust rubbing against the plastic screen protector would have it scratched up in a mater of a month or so. I haven't had to take this case apart yet to clean it and that dust isn't going to hurt the Gorilla glass. I put a couple screen shots of the add on eBay so you could see the seller and the product.
It's awesome

Got this case off of Amazon delivered for $32.

Nice yeah like It .
I'm sure it's a great case if your going to throw it down a mountain, but in my opinion it's way too bulky.
Bulk
If bulk is an issue, then I would suggest an Iphone, I think they still small enough to fit in a matchbox. But all jokes aside, it still easily fits in my back pocket and as I stated before, I need my phone protected from the elements. I never said this case would suit everyone but if you wanted a case that was built for hard core protection, I recommend this one. I have now had it for two months and I hope I can always get one to fit future phones.
How heavy is this? Do you have issues with sound? Have you waterproof tesed the case and how did it do?
Same here,
If a case makes my devices useless, well then it's useless. I can see the draw to a waterproof solution as I hit the lake often during the summer months and don't do much out there other than check things on the screen from time to time. But for that there are cheaper solutions, none of which I trust completely anyhow.
Lets hope that they up the IP rating on the note 4.

LoL this in is not the waterproof version. Its the water resistant version. Love Mei adds some water proofing in there. There is a difference this one, Lunatak's and Love Mei's. I think they all have the same base manufacture. My Dad has the Lunatak's case for the iphone, his signal doesnt take a hit, also it makes the phone feel like a brick. AND I really mean a brick.
You guys want real waterproof head over to the red pepper note 3 thread.

I had purchased a similar metal case for my Note 3 from Love Mei. It looks cool but I dont like it.
1. I made my phone to look big, almost the size of Tab 7.0.
2. Its non ergonomic for long time use, you'll not be comfortable holding it while text messaging.
3. Not to forget that it adds weight extreme weight to your phone. Trust me, you can't answer calls for more than 20 minutes due to its weight.
4. Since its a water proof version, the sound ports and receiver speakers are covered with thin membrane of some material (sort of rubber or plastic). Thats make the sound to be scatered and unclear
5. The glass protector will have the rainbow effect on screen when it touches the phone screen.
These points are based from my experience. I sold my case to another guy.
Currently Im with Trident Kraken AMS, and I love it to the max. It saved my phone without single scratches falling from the height arnd 6 feet.
