Slow charging - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Using original charger and cable, the tablet was plugged in all night and battery only gained 10% (31% to 41%)
any clue why that is ?

Strange USB charging issue

So I went out and bought a 2nd USB cable to leave at work to charge my phone. But for some reason the USB cable I bought doesn't charge the phone...instead it drains the battery..??? The light is on and the icon shows it is charging when I have the USB cable connected and I can even mount the SDcard with it. But the battery percentage slowly goes down. The USB cable that came with the phone works fine without any issues.
Is there something special about the stock USB cable? Do I have to buy a certain type of cable to make charging work?
I bought another two cables, even used a Motorola USB cable but never noticed that... it never happened to me.
My guess is:
Fact:
- charging through the pc USB port is so slow, to get full charge you need 6-8 hours compared to 1.5-2 hours through the wall..
Scenario:
You are using your phone or running heavy application while charging it so it drains more battery than charging ..
Just a guess.

[Q] Battery Issue When Charging using Laptop & Wall Charger

Hey guys i just wanted to knw if ur phone lasts the same when charging using the laptop and using the wall charger bcoz mine is nearly 60% ie. lasts 40% less when i charge using wall charger.
Does anybody else is facing this too ??
That's an interesting observation, ill have too check. Though the laptop would be a slow charge and a cleaner regulated current due to the power regulator in the laptop's charger

yeah laptop charging is nearly half or less than half speed of wall charging ..
there is no difference between AC or USB power from a PC, but charging it with a PC takes a lot more time, because your USB port has not the power/current
i usually always use the wall charger it came with. But i remember that sometimes when i use any other charger it either wont even recognize the cable or not charge at all specially car chargers

Incipio battery mod not charging

As the title states my battery mod fails to charge on charges other than turbo charger, has anyone had luck with working with a different charger?
Mine charges fine on a generic USB-C charger. It's obviously slower, but it works.
I thought I was having the same problem a couple of days ago. It looked like the phone was only charging and the Incipio power pack wasn't. The internal phone battery reached 100% but the mod was showing 0%. I decided to just leave it and surely enough it was charging, just really really slowly. I was using a normal portable charger with a USB-C cable as I was away from home. It takes a very long time to charge both using this setup. Then again, I've found that the battery pack in general takes a long time to charge in comparison to the phone even when using the supplied turbo charger.

I wonder if anyone else has this issue? I have the Tumi power pack wireless charging battery mod and it charges extremely. I'm using the stock 30w Turbo charger that came with the phone. I loaded up Amphere and the rate I was getting was 290 mah.
I've noticed that while using the phone while charging, when the phone is @100 & [email protected], every time the phone drops to 99 it stops charging the pack and then charges the phone. So, I will just pop the battery on a wireless charger or not use my phone while charging the battery. I have this cool qi/qc3.0 hub that makes charging my phone AND battery a breeze, so that's what I will often do.
Hello I have Moto Z and the Incipio power. It was charging before with phone with the type c charger which come with box but now I don't know the reason the Incipio doesn't charge !! when connect the Incipio give me notification with 97% and after 3 sec it is 0% and not charging from the power or charging the phone same also when power off the phone !! Could you please advise?
Using the official turbocharger provided by Motorola, the Battery pack and the phone battery will both charge at the same time. I have noticed using a generic charger/USB-C cable via the PC to charge, it charges the phone battery first and then only will charge the battery pack (once the phone reaches 100%). That is my experience...

Question Issues charging?

Anyone else had issues with their device not charging sometimes when it's plugged in?
I noticed my phone was rejecting basically every USB Type A cable and charger I had, but it also didn't charge using my Type-C PD charger a couple times as well.
I ended up turning off Adaptive Charging, and with it off I haven't had any charger be rejected, unlike before.
Adaptive Charging turns off charging during bedtime. It will turn charging back on about 1 or 2 hours before you wake up so that you have a full battery without it charging all night. I turned it off to because I just plug in, get a good charge and then unplug when I go to sleep.
What charger is best to use? I'm currently using a generic 30w QC3.0 . Guess i need a PD? Will any do or is a google one better?
Pixel expects a PPS charger with specific voltage profiles but PD will work fine if not slower.
I doubt it was "rejecting" the charger, but as noted Adaptive Charging will greatly slow the charging speed down so that a charge that normally takes 1.5 hours might take 8 hours. All of this is dependant on what time you plug the phone it to charge and what time you have alarms set (or not set) for in the morning. The idea behind adaptive charging is that the phone will slowly charge the entire time you are asleep and it will only hit 100% right before you wake up.
Personally I don't like this feature as I would rather not charge the phone over 80% whenever possible. So I will charge the phone normally to 80% and then remove it from a charger while I sleep.
