Sorry to post this here but as new member I can't post in developers thread.
Have an issues where sdcard is not mounting in boot. I can sometimes mount it in recovery and it sticks other times it doesn't.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
If it is a cwm issue what version of cwm does the sdcard stay mounted in and I'll flash that.

I mean in cwm recovery as I boot.
If I turn the phone off to charge etc, when I turn it back on the SD card is not mounted therefore camera and any apps saved on the card won't work.
I then have to reboot phone into cwm recovery and Mount system, data, and sdcard as they have somewhere along the line become unmounted causing issues.

try to reflash the rom i had the same prob with the rom but after re flashing its better
So you mean normally, not in CWM.
If you go in CWM to flash zip do you see the files on sdcard?

to see files in CWM I have to mount the sdcard first.
but to access sdcard normally (ie camera app) after a reset/power off i have reboot into CWM and the mount the sdcard manually for it to take effecet
i will try reflashing the rom again as nagarjuna93 suggests even though i have already flashed it a few times.

Simple thing to do, flash stock, if the problem persists it's maybe a problem with the phone if not it's the rom, wait for another nighly build.

USB tethering
Same with me, can't post on the other threat.
WiFi tethering is an issue. Does anybody know whether USB tethering is working on a Mac/PC?

WIFI tethering is an issue with both cm10.1 and 10.2 that isn't resolved yet with the sony xperia p.
i have the "slim rom" on the galaxy s (running android 4.3) and it does wifi tethering.
haven't tried usb tethering so not sure with that one

In the main threat someone is saying, that USB tethering is not working with the latest ROM v15. I thought, it is good to have a confirmation.
Thanks percy for the milestone update.
I was hoping it fixed the mounting issue of the sdcard but no luck.

A note here. Wifi Tethering and Bluetooh are hard to fix. They might not even fix it.

You are saying that after mounting \sdcard in cwm, it works after boot, but at next boot it is not working. If it is the case, try following this. Once phone is booted and able to access sdcard copy the files from sdcard to your PC. once backup done, enter cwm, format sdcard. Now mount it and boot the phone. After that you can restore the data to your sdcard.

I recommend that you format your sd card, and see of the problem persists. I wiped the sd and it works very well...
PS: if you use a older ROM do you get the have the same problem? and if you had a 2.3.4 version of android and updated to 2.3.5 you will have problems, it's recommended to do a full wipe

Simple:
1. Reboot or boot into recovery, to do that there are 2 ways:
a) if the phone is off press the home + power button and the clockwork/amon ra menu appears
b)if the phone is on long press the closing button and select reboot and after that recovery
2.when into recovery you can do more than just do backups and flash new software, you can mount ext partition, mount sd card and a lot of things like that:
-So go to mounts and storage and select the last option: mount usb storage
-after that copy the content to the sd card and unmount the sd card and try to flash the new rom...I recommend to do a full wipe (wipe data + wipe cache partition + wipe dalvik)
you can reflash the elelinux rom or you can flash OMFGB if you want a stock rom.
Keep me in touch of you have problems,

Bluetooth problem
First of all: Thank you Elelinux for this fantastic ROM. It works like a charm and is the fastest ROM I have ever used with my Hero
However, I think there is a Bluetooth problem with v3.3
When I connect to my car's Bluetooth hansdfree (Parrot MKi9200) the connection drops after just a few seconds. In the Bluetooth settings menu (on the phone) I can see that Bluetooth is turned off and after a while it turns on again. It continues to connect and disconnect in an endless loop. A couple of times the phone has even rebooted.
I can connect to my laptop (with bluetooth) without problems (but I haven't tried to copy files or anything, just connected).
I tried to upgrade the radio drivers to v6.35.17.03, but no difference.
I also tried the Las_Venturax-0.6.2 kernel, still no change.
Then I tried the FlyKernel-13 Gingerbread but no success.
When I restored a backup of Elelinux-7.1.0-RC1-Hero-v3.2, the phone connects to the Parrot without any problems (Las_Venturax-0.6.2 and radio v6.35.17.03).
If you need any more info or need me to try anything just say so!

hey guys... i got a few questions...
Are the gingerbread roms nearly smooth now especially this one ?
Is there a big difference between the new 2.6.35 kernels (las venturas 0.6-0.62) and the flykernel 12 im using?...
Im currently on villainrom13 (flykernel12) i thought it was the best and smoothest combo on my phone, but a few days ago i founded this new kernels and roms and i was wondering whether it is worth a try to update to gingerbread or to the new kernels. So any experiences ?
Sorry for my english... im a german and its pretty late over here

VR13 and flykernel13 i think it's a best option, because the 2.1 android version with sense 1.5 uses .29 kernel source, so it's the most stable as far as i know...
The .35 kernel has some cleaned code but has some problems with some roms; it depends what you what from your phone......SalsaSense is GB and with sense 2.1 but it sill has some lag problems...
you can try whatever you want and suits you more

Might be a silly thought, but have you enabled the unknown sources option...?
Lee
yep thats been done,
under Security > Unknown Sources is ticked
doesnt seem to be anyother settings that i could've missed either.
Hmm. Odd bug then. I can't help (or confirm) yet as I'm doing a system dump before flashing (LPH to LPQ, full wipe + internal sd format). Copying everything from my internal sd to the pc takes a little while, it was nearly full...
You've tried the nasty shotgun approach of clearing caches and fixing permissions...?

Working fine here. I did a wipe before install as it wouldn't work the first time I flashed.
Working fine here. I didn't wipe.
The only thing I noticed is that some apps, previously installed, didn't work. I uninstalled them and reinstalled them from the internal SD Card.
Do you have Root? Depending on how you flashed your phone, you may have lost root access and thus some apps that require root may not install.
i agree it is an odd "bug" not sure why it would do this.
when the install application screen comes up, only the cancel button is responsive.
also i can confirm i have root - i flashed CF_root strait after.

Flashing back the stock kernel will actually solve the problem. For the case of rooting your phone, you can use:

Got stock kernel on, and rooted my phone using that method. Everything works fine.

There is not USB Storage Option in GS3..I don't know where you used it before.
Edit
ive used it on S2 , for sure
thats too bad , its a useful feature.
I've used it on LG O2X :/
If you want USB Storage option you will have to install a rooted app from here..it will only mount your Ext Sd Card (not in recovery though)..
By the way..did you really see a "Mount as a USB Storage" option in CWM Recovery??
Maybe I am getting a bit rusty..
Yeah i did, it was a gr8 option cause if was in cwm and suddenly remembered i needed to transfer another file then i would use it rather than booting and then going back to recovery
also if your system crashed or something and couldnt boot to the rom and only to CWM or DOWNLOAD mode then this way you could at least backup your data before trying anything else.

Hello there guys so I'm here because I did a very silly mistake related to the CWM for the Galaxy Player 4.2 (Or at least that's what I think I did ).
Related to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39344227
Anyway I'm not familiar with CWM since the Galaxy Player 4.2 is my first Android device ( And is not like the device has been easy on us right ), my device is rooted and the problem is that I already got the Kernel on my device and as expected I'm without WiFi. How can I configure the CWM Recovery without WiFi, if not, how can I get WiFi back?.
Sorry for bothering with dummy questions/mistakes and thanks in advance .

Can I flash the fix without CWM, for example with Odin?. I'm having a really hard time here, since I was dumb enough to install the Kernel without configuring the CWM before or at least making sure I could do it without the WiFi. Now the problem is when I want to flash with Rom Manager it says I need the recovery since I'm not a premium but again in order to get the recovery I need WiFi internet :/.

Wow it's the first time I see somebody having more problems with CWM than odin (no offense). Actually all you need to do is to put the patch into your device and then boot into CWM. Once into CWM, go into install zip from sdcard, then chose zip from sdcard and chose your patch zip. Once you choose it, you will see a bunch of no and one yes, check yes and it will patch it. Once it's done, reboot your device.
Hope it helps.

You're right, it works fine ! Now I have a question : I tried a backup in CWM, system and data have been backed up, but neither applications nor cache.

Backing up cache...

Any idea ?

Man, I feel so stupid right now . I managed to run the CWM boot now when I try to install the zip the update. Says:
"E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed

Maybe I should tell you everything I did just in case.
I had the device already rooted.
Flashed the kernel
Installed the CWM v5.0.2.7
Transfered the Fix zip to sdcard
then I did everything you said and also tried to disable verification and still failed.
Sorry to be bothering U_U.

No any work around found. Tryied all workaround like installing init.d toggler also no use. So i, flash my cm11 backup. Using cm11 now. (between i dont like lollipop visuals and stock rom is no extra features, not even xposed will work so i use cm12 only when arrive)
After flashing Cm11 i found on the Web that in twrp recovery go to advanced and select fix permission and try mounting link2sd but before you do take full nandroid backup.. If brick happens....

I just installed the latest link2sd update. It first shows partition not mounted then shows an error message and shows the option to recreate mount scripts or quick reboot because the mount script is loaded after system startup and after quick reboot second partition is really mounted. I think after every reboot this quick reboot is necessary , but at least its now working.
And apps2sd is working for all the apps.

It still doesn't automatically mount the second partition. Boots up, shows the error, after quick reboot, it then starts working. I guess init.d scripts aren't working at all. They are not at all mounted at boot no matter what. Tried init.d toggler, enabler and what not, nothing works at all. Problem is with lollipop probably.

I am using ext4 . And yes I can link apps now. I didn't do anything special. Its just like after booting once it needs to quick reboot once again to mount the second partition and then the linked apps appear. Its still not perfect but its working. I would not suggest to link any important apps , I am only linking games and theme apks etc. so that if something goes wrong it doesn't matter.

After flashing Cm11 i found on the Web that in twrp recovery go to advanced and select fix permission and try mounting link2sd but before you do take full nandroid backup.. If brick happens....

What do you mean by this? Are you trying to say that after we have lollipop, we have to go to twrp recovery and fix permissions and then try back link2sd and it would work then? Where did you find this info? Can you please provide the link?

Thanks but I dont think it's gonna work. Problem is not with permissions, problem is that init.d scripts are simply not run at boot at all and until and unless tht happens, nothing can be done. I used a test script which supposed to run at boot but it simply didn't run. I dont know whats going wrong with lollipop. I hope some senior member throws some light upon this issue and I hope the creator of link2sd is also listening.
[solved]
I confirmed that in lollipop build link2sd v4.0 released yesterday only work..
But one roblem there that after reboot u have to quick reboot everytime. This is I think bug in the init.d of the ROM not the link2sd fault...
It's up to mfn subscribers to report this bug as soon to make sure final build will come buggless........
If I am wrong..correct me.
Don't use cracked plus version it won't work

I tried with ext4.. On thing is after restart dont creat another mount script.. simply go to reboot and chose quick reboot. .. .
But my phone restarts itself outta nowhere in every ROM! There was no Xposed module installed nor any other apps who want root permissions (I installed fresh KitKat 4.4.4 but still)
My main point is, it doesn't soft reboot, which makes all linked apps disappear after booting up. Any fix for this? (My phone was fell on the floor once which made it's screen cracked and I can't hear any audio anymore. I put the new screen but... :/ I don't think it'll be related to all of sudden reboots)
