My hobby is photography and I like doing panorama photos by stitching 5+ normal photos to one panorama. Without manual shutter speed or exposure lock on the camera, I can't do that...
My question is - Is there a way for this on Samsung Galaxy S2?
Sorry but photography on a smartphone camera? Really?
There is a panorama shooting mode in the camera app...

AFAIK there is no option for manual shutter control. And for panorama, it's there in the camera settings.

Sorry if I'm being a "****", but I agree with him. Phones are not for this. If your hobby is really photography, you don't do it with a phone, unless you're a hipster, or you can't afford a good camera. Yes, when you need a quick pic, it's okay, but that's not the real thing :/
Also, ICS should have nice panorama feature, let's just wait for it.
Hello again
I have DSLR, but I'm not that much into photography to bring it everywhere with me...
Here is some samples with my old phones (first from Sony Ericsson K770 3,2MP, others from Samsung Omnia 5MP)
I try the panorama on Galaxy S2 (also other panorama programs), but they DON'T have AE lock, and stitching its not good (for example, try do panorama in dark room with one bright window...)
So, is there hope for some software developing on Android, maybe for ICS?
Hello again, just want to say that I found some kind of solution, if someone other than me is interested
Fast Burst Camera app (in beta for now) have some AE lock and I can take photos for panorama, thats GREAT, but the app can take max resolution of 800x600 ...
Also if there is other program... PLEASE let me know about it, I'm interested in paying for it
no need to pay, use fireworks mode,
stock cam app extends shutter speed to 1 second.
here's my sample

Hello again
I've found the perfect camera APP and its called Camera FV-5 !
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.flavionet.android.camera.pro&feature=search_result
V1.1 supports AE-L (AutoExposure-Lock), but only for ICS devices. However, it's not working on custom ROM's, that's what the developer of the program say'd to me, when I ask him "why does AE-L not working with me". I'm ont Lite'ning V2.6 ROM (ICS 4.0.3 based).
The developer say'd that this future works only ot original ICS releases (for now), it has to do something with the camera driver/apk (I don't understand that much)
Could I flash from somewhere original ICS base on this ROM, the only thing I want is to work AE-L on my phone

I found out how to lock the focus (it's the last option in the Focus menu), but how do you lock the Aperture?
Also, I tried the Exposure Bracketing and took 7 shots, would anyone recommend a free software to make an HDR picture out of these?

good/expensive equipment might give you clearer pictures with higher pixels but it is also not wrong for anyone (including photographers) to use their smart phones for photography, as the matter of fact capturing photos at the right moment is the most important factor of all.
many of my photographer friends enjoy the photo taking capability with today's smart phones for several reasons: 1. it's very handy because people carry their phone on them all the time. 2. Easy-Quick to use 3.picture quality is good enough in most cases.
Hi to all,
I would like to know if there are same way to improve camera quality. I can see my photos often are blurry.. a little bit...Although I use the focus with the touch.
Is there any setting, or build.prop modding to improve? Or any other apps...
Thanks a lot

With my previous HTC desire HD pictures quality was very very better than this...
I don't see anything wrong with this picture.
What you can do is try a modded camera.apk that has 100 compression on JPGs instead of 95, or just use a thirdparty app like Procapture.

anyways... the camera of i9100 likes good light conditions. a lot. The more light, the better photos.

I can't see any macro settings... But low quality is for jpg compression... I like to have 100%...
There is a crop (100% zoom... 30cm away from phone). Poor jpg quality!!!

Macro focus is for closeup shots. Given how far the bottle is away from the phone, it wouldn't be suitable for that particular photo.

Your photo is good... but if you see my crop, is very very poor! I can see too much jpg artifacts
1st. Find out if its Macro or Not. Try Autofocus if its not on.
2nd. Did you buy it as a new phone, or is it 2nd hand? In 2nd hand case it could be that the phone was opened previously for a repair or something, and the lens or the lens cover got dirty.
can someone extract your own camera.apk and share with me? could be my app corrupt...
I've ICS stock LP7

IMHO the picture quality is very good in this phone its a matter of how well you can play with your settings in there! One suggestion would be that don't take the pictures with auto flash! but if you still looking for other options then I think you should look to the third party app like "Camera Zoom FX" and its on sale at the moment as well!
here is the link
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=slide.cameraZoom&hl=en
It has more options plus excellent other settings and added frames etc as well, which you may find useful if you're a picture enthusiastic!

Camera fx is better app that I found... much better than stock camera.
Then compare yourself my crop ... the first with stock camera, the second with camera fx app. There is just no comparison!

Hi everybody, I'm testing the xperia z2 from 20 April and I'm waiting the safe drm keys backup.
Camera quality is great but the auto mode pictures need to be more detailed. Could someone develop a module for xposed framework
like the z1 mode ? Thank for your answers !:fingers-crossed:
If you have question about the z2 you can ask me here (I'm sitting hard exams during 3 weeks it could take time before I answer you):highfive:
Sony disabled this because different settings cause different effects
20mp is general there for fun
Sony has focused on making Superior Auto actually work and really good too, so those 8mp shots will be better looking than 20mp, 20mp will just have that high resolution
You can decompile the cameraUI.apk and modify the values your self but i don't recommend
Side note
I think the xposed module to enable 20mp superiour auto actualy works on Z2 but i have yet to test

To do that Doomloird would need a root exploit, with isn't available right now. And nothing seems to give hope that it will be released soon.
Hi
I have Sony Xperia Z2 and I know there have been lots of threads regarding this issue and i know that this camera lag does not affect the photo quality. However is there anyway to flash or install or modify the old camera app which was in 4.4.3? I hate how the camera is laggy and not as smooth.
Any help or reply is much appreciated. Thank you all.
If you use Existenz then the most recent version (4.5.0) has it.
Thank you so much! I'm currently using 4.0 and I didn't know about the 4.5, thanks for your help!!!

Hi I have updated to 4.5 and the camera view finder is still laggy.. Same as 4.0.

Has no one taken into account the decrease of refresh rate was intentional by Sony to save battery and reduce heating

+1 too, in a light scene, camera is smooth, but in low light, it's lag like the others, Z and Z1 still smooth.

Now in z2 , the camera is very laggy ...ok...but we have now a very good quality in photos! I try a photo with 4.4.2 and another photo with 4.4.4...same place, same object. The sharpness, colors and quality is very very very superior in 4.4.4
Infact in 4.4.2 some photos are with a strange blue bounce in objects, people and animals. In 4.4.4 the bounce disappear . I heard (but i'm not sure of this) , the photo quality with z and z1 is very bad with sony camera. Now z2 with sony camera is really ok in my opinion :good:
I agree with you that the camera is taking better photos, however don't forget that 4.4.4 exaggerates the colours of photos in album app, I don't know if you can notice that.. When you look at the photos on pc or print anything, they come out terrible. I was really happy with the old camera. I think would be great if someone can find a way to get back the old camera 4.4.3 running on 4.4.4.
Thank you

It's supervivid or (sometimes) x-reality feature on screen settings if you activate....it exaggerate colour in certain situations on phone...in PC, the photos are great for me... i test that i advice you to settings the white balance screen with : R=0 B=177 G=177 to have more natural colors on screen .Then use manual camera to take better photos Or 3rd party app (like snap camera or a better camera ). You can try :good:
Yes that is right. I agree that it does a decent photos but I think I was happy with a smooth camera that is all. No my pc is fine and I also tend to copy photos to mac and I use mac book pro retina. I want the 60 fps back!!

Apparently the guys from "DXOMARK" have gotten their hands on the Xperia z3+ and put it through their tests. To my surprise Sony seems to have finetuned their great sensor to the extent that an xperia device occupies the third place in "DXOMARK" top: http://www.dxomark.com/Mobiles/Sony-Xperia-Z3-Plus-review-Improved-rankings-for-latest-iteration
What are your thoughts on this?Is there any way to port Z3+'s camera wizardry to our beloved Z2? )
You can port the camera app but 70% of the features wont work and camera quality wont be changed.

Well the hardware doesnt change and nor does the camera driver in the kernel
Maybe some changes will happen due to FW/SW libs but at best we wont see much change nor improvement for quality
As for features working, Z2 doesnt have manual camera control unlike Z3+.
Camera from Z3+ is not better than one in Z2.Z2 can expand much for quailty in manual mode so finally results would be almoust the same like Z3+.
