Hi lately after rebooting my phone the battery will drain either between 3-50%. It shouldnt matter but i charge via external charger since port is broken. This is not just battery issue though as my wide has same phone and if she takes mine it doesnt seem to happen yet if i take hers it does. Any ideas as to what the heck is up would be nice
I have similar issue, it will say 70%-90% and then do a random restart and say 1% connect your charger, and sometimes it will reboot and be back up again, I tried flashing a different ROM but the problems carried over

This problem is getting out of hand, the Note will work all day plugged in, and say fully charged, but unplug it and 2 minutes later it restarts and says 1%!?? What gives?
Sent from my SGH-I897 using Tapatalk
I had this problem for a while too. I then downloaded a battery calibration app off the Play Store, and that did the trick. If not, perhaps try to replace the battery and see if it has the same results?
In recovery mode you can wipe your battery stats, then full charge.
I could not find the battery stats in recovery

Boot into recovery, then go to advanced and reset battery stats, then reboot. Use your phone until the battery dies then fully recharge. If this doesn't fix the issue, you may have a bad battery.

Have you Tried to Recalibrate the Battery?
Sometimes the phone battery monitoring gets out of sync and the remedy is to recalibrate the battery.
You can either try one of the available apps in the Android Market or you can do some manual steps available online(just search for Android Battery Recalibration).
Here is one example, scroll down to Battery Calibration section: http://www.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/guide-battery-life.2551/
I tried wiping the battery stats and calibrating as well but what worked for me was:
1. Charge for at least 4 hours to ensure a full charge
2. Unplug, turn off, and then pull the battery
3. While battery is out, plug charger back in and wait for the battery icon with the question mark.
4. Reinsert the battery (results will vary here, mine comes up as 5% for some reason)
5. Unplug the charger and then plug it back in, it should show as 100% now
6. Turn on while plugged in, wait until fully booted and then unplug from charger (it should read as 100% or 99%, depending on how your battery gauge works)
This is just what worked for me, I am running Navalynt's pi-crust (based on AT&T 4.5.91) so please be careful and research if there would be any issues with other ROMs

Im unlocked rooted running wetdream. Ever since installing it, the battery indicator wont show charge beyond 95%. When charging with phone off, it reaches 100% but as soon as I power on, it only shows 95%. I've done battery cal app, let die completely twice, charge overnight, pull battery while still plugged in (which I never got missing battery notice for) and wiped battery stats in recovery. Is this something I just need to learn to live with or anyone have any other ideas? Btw, im loving nottachs wetdream rom. I know this has been posted elsewhere, I've tried all those tips. Just wondering if there are any new tried tips I can look into. Tia

How did it fix it for you? I tried it last night and still only reached 95%
No need of any app. Just drain the battery till it powers off. Full charge without switching it on. Should get the 100% bck.

i had same issue too, tried a full wipe or flashed different sbfs, but it didn't work at all.i guess it is gingerbread's fault.this didn't happened in 2.2.

I never had this on stock, but with the 10% changes in battery, would I have noticed.
When you are installing custom ROM, this is expected. You can try this,
Steps:
1. Drain your battery till gets shut off, then charge it till it says "Fully Charged" irrespective of 95% or 100%.
2. Once charged, Reboot the phone in recovery mode, keep the phone plugged into charger
3. Start it in Recovery mode using CMW, then remove battery stats
4. Switch off the phone
5. It show battery icon with %, with plugged in remove the battery
6. it will show missing battery icon, then insert the battery.. it will show 5% or 20%
7. Charge it for 3-4 hrs, then reboot the phone, you will see 100%
This Fixed for me...
Hi I've been using Neutrino for weeks and have not been able to get past 97pc battery using all techniques on xda. I finally fixed it yesterday when I installed clamsysns 1.5 kernel and charged over night and it was back to 100.

Just an update. I installed the newest version of wetdream yesterday. Got it to charge to 100% then thru resetting up phone and such, dropped to 18%. Recharged but didn't make it to 100% this time. Got to 95% but 4200mv, so I assumed full charge. At that time it was bedtime, so decided to just plug back into charger for the night. This morning it read 100% again. So its basically getting its full charge, just not showing all the time. A glitch I guess ill have to live with.

i am trying to do this, but no matter how long my phone stays connected it never says fully charged, just keeps showing the animated goo at 90% on top of battrey, it can do that forever, should i try what you said even if it does not say fully charged?
Don't know what happened but the phone is fully charged, according to the charge thingy before boot. But I can't turn the phone on. It came on once this morning and said it had 4% then died. So I plugged it back into the charger and its still saying its charger. But when its charging I can't turn the phone on and once the screen times out I can't turn the screen back on. I have to unplug then plug back in. The cables are just fine. I've tested on 4 different cables and 3 charge wall ports

Can you get into CWM recovery? What ROM are you on?
I've noticed on ICS Roms that you can't power the phone on while it's charging like you can on TouchWiz Roms. I couldn't even press.the power.button to see how far it had gotten. It's like the power button is disabled when charging when turned off.
The only thing I could do was let it charge for a while then unplug it from the charger and it would power up.

That's what its doing. But no matter however long I leave it plugged in it still dies as soon as it boots up with a brief notice of a low battery. I changed out the battery and it still happens. As for cwm, ill have to check later. I'm watching a movie then probably going to bed. Ill mess with it tomorrow and see what I can figure out

Can you reboot recovery as soon as it boots up? If you can, flash http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2056318/update-template/bstats.zip to wipe your battery stats.
You don't need to flash anything to wipe your battery stats and furthermore wiping battery stats will do nothing to fix the issue. The stats file is simply a .txt file, the device does not decide that the battery is low based upon that...it reads the milliamp hour output of the battery itself. When the battery reaches that predetermined output level it shuts down to prevent over discharge and battery damage. It's similar to what you see in RC trucks and such when using LiPO batteries. They include a failsafe to prevent damage to the cells from over discharge. I would recommend trying a battery that you know is good (not just assume) get a cheapo off Ebay for a few bucks our try charging in an external charger OR if there is a US Cellular shop nearby they will swap a dead battery for a charged one. The mesmerize is obviously identical.
If all that were to fail try starting out with a fresh wipe and reinstall of your rom and kernel, there may be something funked up in there if you have "dirty" flashed at some point.
Just some thoughts...
Hi, I've got a quite common problem - battery drain. I'm not such a noob, so I understand the way how the battery drain works (I mean why does it happen). It happened after changing the sim card. My sim card stopped working at some moment, so I decided to change it. After that I noticed that my Droid does not turn on. I plugged it into a charger, it got charged normally to 100%. But the battery is draining now constantly. I Changed rom, I wiped all the data, I did even restore backup from march, when the device was 100% functional.
I'm afraid I can not have a replacement as it is rooted, and a repair is almost impossible (I live in Poland).
Any ideas? Maybe someone had similar issue?
PS I got smthing like 10h of standby. That sucks.
PPS It seems that the battery alone is ok, as the phone is heating (so it means that there is energy stored inside)
Have you tried calibrating the battery?
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
By what? Charging to full and then discharging to 0%? Yes, I did xD Smthing like 5 times this week
Wipe everything, clean install a rom, download a battery calibrator app from the market and let it charge to a 100% and then let it die to zero
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
As I said before, I already did that
But use the battery calibrator
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
Battery is calibrated. The problem is not here. The problem is that battery is drained and it seems that there are not many things left that could cause the drain. Please stop posting as I can see that you are not giving any new ideas.
your battery may be just degrading all of a sudden. does it die incredibly fast if you leave your phone in safe mode all day?
Yes, I tried safe mode, without success. It doesn't seem that battery is degrading, as the phone heats up (so the battery must have energy inside)

What temps we talking? Try temp monitor app also of its discharging improperly it will heat up. Get a app like gsam and have it record what rate it's discharging at, sounds like a bad bat though to be honest. EDIT just noticed your rooted. And that you don't want to replace because of jag options. I suggest of your up to it to open the phone and disconnect the battery for a while. Couldn't hurt.

Talking about the opening of the phone, this is someting that I want to avoid. I can do that, after nothing works. Any ideas what could happen?
I've noticed it's happened to me but closing out processes and hard rebooting the phone seems to have cleared that.
Quick Note:
go to settings, battery, and uncheck Fast boot, then shutdown and turn back on. Let me know how that goes.

nope. No effect
1. What rom, kernel, recovery, and radio are you using?
2. I understand you charged to 100 and then let drain to zero, but did you reset your battery stats in recovery?
3. Do you have GSam installed?
1. Tried Supercharged, stock dna, hatka supreme (or something like that),
recovery: CWM
kernels: Blackout, crampler
Radio: the new one xD (The one that came with v2.04)
2. I charged to 100 and drained. During that I changed roms, did factory reset etc.
3. Nope, I've used (and still use) wakelock detector. The GSam seems to provide less data.
After all these weeks the problem is still present. I hope someone can help.
A Suggestuions:
Try an older microusb lead and slow charge from a usb 2 port, sometimes a battery has trouble with a charge sticking - try slow things down and slow charge the phone see if that helps.
I tried even the netbook usb port (350mah), still no luck.

but did you try it when the phone was at 0% and make sure your not using the fast ports, also try slowing it down further if you have any dvd players etc they will only push out around 100 to 200 mah may be worth trying.
Bar that i think the battery is naffed, i would say underclock but if you have tried safe mode its safe to assume itts not going to help..
The only other thing i have heard of but never tried is to keep drain the phone completely and then charge constanly by mains for 2-3 days. if you have tried everything else may be worth a shot.
What app or apps are draining the battery and how much time does it take?
There are no apps draining. The most impact (htc battery app) has got phone idle and wifi. After turning off wifi nothing happens, taking out the sim or turning on airplane mode does not help either
I'm on my second V10. The battery on both of these phones rarely charge up to 100%. It usually stops at around 94-95%. I'm not using the OEM charger as I have misplaced it. For those that have OEM chargers, do you get to 100%? For those that are not, are you experiencing the same issue as me? I have gone through many different android devices and this is the only one that seems to be really picky with chargers.
Let the battery fully drain to the point where you can not even turn on the phone, then charge the phone fully while it is off, that will calibrate the battery, worked on my note I had the same issue
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
A quicker way is to open adb shell and
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
But yeah, cheap charger can cause this
Sent from my A0001 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Thanks for the tips, but none of them worked. Still stopping at 94%. In the process, I did find something that does work. A battery pull. Once I do that, it will report 100%. Must be something in the battery's circuitry that does reset unless it's pulled because that 94% shows both in android and when the phone is off on the battery charging screen.
I use 3 different chargers with no problems
Sent from my LG-H901 using XDA-Developers mobile app

I presume you have already tried this, but change your charging cable and may be an idea to let the phone drain to below 3 % and then recharge without interruption with phone switched off. I had a similar problem and worked for me.

Mine was also the same condition. But once i changed the battery to a new genuine one it is charging to complete 100%. You can do the same thing.
Actually I charge it all the way and it will only say 83% maximum. Yes, I pull the battery just like you did, and when I put it back in, it then reads 100%. For that moment. But then later, when I go to recharge it, it again only goes up to 83%. I don't want to constantly have to pull the battery and reboot it, so doing that is not a solution at all. If anybody has any idea what you can actually do to fix this, please... because this is getting ENTIRELY on my nerves.
Sooooooooooooo........... nothing then.

This is battery issue, you need to replace it.
