[Q] Max Recording Limit Video? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Has anyone tested the Max recording limit size?
I have a 64 gig card installed and I can't seem to get beyond 4 GB.
Any ideas?
Please forgive me for my ignorance but i didn't have this restriction with my EVO 3D with same card.

Another Android noob question......

Ok so see if anyone can figure this out:
While listening to music on Poweramp, the songs play ok but every once in a while, they stutter or skip like a broken record played real fast and stuck on one part of the song.
Is this a RAM issue? Something else causing a conflict that is using too much memory?

Ok well.... I have ckosed all apps and used PA at maximum RAM savings, still does it. I even OC'd the processor to 1.83 and it still does it. Anyone else have any bright ideas? I also uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared memory and still does it.

I have music stored on internal memory or external SD?
If so, is it a cheap SD card, or at least a class 6?

Stored on external which is 32GB class 2. However, I've read that even class 6 and 10 also exhibit same issues.

I haven't noticed this issue on my Note. I have a 32gb class 4 microSD card

How do I tell SD speed?
AnTuTu said it was sd card.
Didn't know it was my internal.

It should give you an option on initial startup

Sdcard/ext_sd is your micro sdcard

Idk what happened just now. Set AnTuTu to test sd ext. Ran benchmark. Bam, all my pictures got deleted off my sd card. Even looked for them with ES file explorer. All of my other files are there. Nothing in DCIM or camera folder.

little above 5000 with quad
i think if we root/custom rom/kernel tweaked/oc'd we can surpass the asus prime.

One thing I do in my spare time is install Android/dual boot) on HP Touchpads. For that, I always install an OC app for the people that's free in the Play Store called "No frills CPU control" which is found here:
http://goo.gl/EfKBi
It allows me to OC the (rooted, of course) non-custom kernel TP to whatever I want. Haven't tried it yet on the EVO, because I haven't had the time to sit down and root it yet, but that might just work...

Does sd card effects the performance of the phone??????

Hi guys I'm planning to buy an 32gb class 10 sd card and want 2 know that does this effect the performance of the phone in any way ?????????
And any suggestions for the best sd card????????

It affects the performance this much |_| ...you decide.
Your card might be a class whatever. The output of:
/sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:0/read_ahead_kb
and
/sys/devices/virtual/bdi/179:16/read_ahead_kb
affect the read ahead performance however. The card by itself is a load of old ****.
Ignore the people who have bought themselves a big waste of money.
Huge difference. Stupid serial access synthetic benchmarks as detailed above are of no relevance. Of course faster access medium is better. Like the difference between an HD and an ssd. Anyone saying otherwise has no idea what they are talking about.

Balls.
Proof of any measurable positive impact on an SIII from such a card? Not waffle... proof.
Good luck with that. I have a 32Gb Class 10... no difference whatsoever from a poxy class 2 2Gb card.

Don't be ridiculous. Why not go on and argue that a 2mhz processor is just as good as a 1.4ghz quad core one? Simple logic and a very minor understanding of science will confirm it.
I edited my post as you were posting...
Where is your proof though
I'm not holding my breath though.

Rubbish. Of course a class 2 card is slower than a class 10. Proof? Look at any benchmark or try it yourself. Your argument is akin to arguing that a car with a top speed of 100mph and 0 to 60 of 20 seconds is just as fast as one with a top speed of 200mph and a 0 to 60 of 5 seconds. Get a grip. God there are some muppets on this forum....
It was to my understanding that a class 2 means that it will at least write at 2MB/s. It is by all means not limited to 2MB/s. Am I wrong?

The card doesn't control the read-write rate. The ROM does.
You are correct though. Example: A Lamborghini will do, let's say 180 mph... but the driver may never go above 50.
EDIT: I'm looking forward to seeing Dr Pepper's stats and data though.

Anything above class 4 is a waste of money for me. (class 4 is sufficient for HD recording.)
So in between this argument what do u guys think what should i do should i go for class 2 card or a class 10 ????????
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It doesnt affect the performance because all if the phones data is stored in its internal Card which is much faster than any external card

See.. Cards performance will only be affected if you store game Data on the extsdcard.. Even then class 4 would be good enough.. If you don't want to buy class 10 buy a class 4 sdcard.. You won't notice any major speed differences

If you're recording hd video onto your card then you'll be better off with a class 10. Other than that, it won't affect the performance of your phone at all if you get a slower card.

I've had lags+stutters while recording video at 1080 and superfine quality directly to my class 6 SD card. Those videos were quite long (10-15 min).
Changing storage location to phone memory removes all the lags. I'm planning to change mine to class 10 soon.
Other than this, I don't see any real performance issue with lower class sd card; at least for me anyway.

Memory sizes

Hey, concerning memory
Normal 370MB
XL memory 392MB
Big Mem 402MB
I know big mem 402 breaks the 720p video recording, because that is where it pulls the extra mem from...
where does the extra mem
in the xl 392 come from???
I tried looking but i don't remember where I've seen it

Issues recording video on MM

Anyone notice a shortening of the maximum video length on MM? it seems like all video recording modes limits the max time to 5 min. I've tried 60fps 1080p, 30fps 1080p and 24fps 1080p. Before the update there wasn't any limit before as I have longer videos recorded in those settings on lollipop.
I've heard 1080p at 60 was maxing out at 5, but not other modes.
Can anyone who has take the MM update chime in on limits to other modes?

Saw that no one did a reply on this, MM recording for HD doesn't have a time limit. Only UHD has the 5 minute record time

Actually, mine does limit 1080p at 60fps at 5 mins, but 1080p at 30fps has no limit. Not a big deal to me since even hdx movies are only 24fps.
