[Q] HTC One GPE 4.4 Update Problem??? - AT&T HTC One (M7)

Hi xda,
I just learned that there is an OTA available for the HTC One GPE and checked for updates.... but my phone said that "Your system in up to date" so I used the manual install method. I entered into stock recovery and updated from internal storage.
Note: My HTC One is NOT a GPE edition; I bought the AT&T version, changed the cid, flashed a GPE RUU, and changed it into a GPE.
The problem is, the update went well (I think), but I'm not seeing much changes that I thought I was supposed to see.
I can't post any pictures because xda won't let me, but essentially the drawer stayed EXACTLY the same (not the clean look, it still has both apps and widgets in it), there is no Google Now side-page (you know, when you scroll to the left?), and the page indicator is still the dash line, not the dots. I did get the new dialer and the new status bar though.
Did I do something wrong? For all of you with GPE, is this what the phone is supposed to look like with the 4.4 update? I got the new dialer and all, but the app drawer did not change, I'm not getting the side scroll Google Now page, and nothing that I expected from the 4.4 update seems to be there. Is this a problem? If so, is there a way to fix it? Should I just go with CM and ditch this whole stock thing? Thanks.
EDIT: Here's the phone information.

You have the update installed correctly. I heard it's not like the Nexus 5 because it's missing the Google experience launcher and maybe some other things but they can be side loaded pretty easily. I'm trying to get mine updated to it. I need to flash the stock recovery back on it and change my CID. I'm going to do that now.

[Q] Over the air update?

Hi,
I have heard that omate features over the air update (maybe called OTA?), which I suppose should be easy to use. I want to ask - how can I check if a new OTA update is available? How can I check my current version?
Will such update preserve all my contacts and calendar appointments?
I have omate 8GB/1GB in Europe 2100. I have flashed it with firmware TEST_RELEASE_Omate_2100_TrueSmart_20140314.zip (btw, was there a new firmware released, and I maybe missed it?)

To search for OTA update go to settings/system/about TS/wireless update and click "check for update"
You don't have to check for (F)OTA, system will inform you if it discover update.
Over the air update or OTA is well known system of update in iOS and Android world and it's working quite good.
You won't lose anything, your data, contact, pictures and everything else will be preserved.
And no, even Omate promised to upgrade TS by the end of last month they didn't do that - why I'm not surprised?

The 'about truesmart' option is available in the original firmware settings.
your screenshot shows the default android settings menu, which makes me believe you are not on the official Omate Software, which means you do not get the official over the air update.

You are running some unofficial ROM. Maybe Dees Bluetooth Tether or Loki's Unified. I don't know. I think you have to get back to stock if you want it. I advise you not to, there's nothing that special in OTA. You are most likely safer now than with the update.
Hey,
got mine TS (1+8GB 2100Mhz) last week.
My firmare: Omate_truesmart_20140513.103530_V2.0.
No ota available? The message says no updates available?!
Latest Kickstarter updates says: Omate_TrueSmart_V2.0_20140527 were the latest update.
I am confused.
Any chance to get the firmware elsewhere?
There ate at least two different versions produced in May and they each have their own unique hardwares, which are incompatible with each other and both with any other firmware builds. The 0513 firmware on yours is the build for what is referred to as "third batch" and the 0527 is found on the last batch so far - 4th batch. Both are version 2.0 OUI builds, not OUI 2.1 and neither is any better than the other. Both have wide open insecurity and Bluetooth stack coding failures and so forth just as in the original firmwares from back in January. There has been NO progress made on improving the TrueSmart firmware so far.
Since these hardware revisions require incompatible firmwares (flashing the wrong one will softbrick your TrueSmart) and there is no way to tell them apart, development of replacement firmwares has pretty much halted.

[Help] SCH-I545 NK4 won't update to Lollipop (Strange stock rom issue)

I'm new to the forums, though I did look around for a similar issue before registering to post this. Hope this isn't redundant!
Anyway, down to brass tax: I have an SCH-1545 from Verizon, and at one time had Hyperdrive 20 running which required the use of Safestrap. For a number of reasons I eventually went back to stock rom and being new to Android may have may a few crucial errors, though I haven't bricked my phone. I believe I've somehow flashed an improper stock rom, even though it does 'work' for the most part. The only problems are a few GUI bugs, mostly delays when using the keyboard, and the fact that when I try to update to Lollipop from the popup that incessantly invades my homescreen it fails and boots back into 4.4.2.
If anyone has any ideas or knows what I should do, PLEASE ask me any other information you need and help me sort this out.

If your phone doesn't update to lollipop then you are very lucky man. You should never update to lollipop because your bootloader will be even more locked with "Secure Download". This is mainly why i hate lollipop and all samsung lollipop smartphones.
Your Kitkat is very good i'm sure you do not want bugs so you would not like to update to lollipop.

Making sch-I545 fully work on AT&T network

I recently took my GS4 to AT&T to get service. It is unlocked and I have it rooted. Everything works fine on it except text messages fail to send. I can receive text messages and picture messages, browse the internet, make and receive calls. Dialer codes do not work on this phone as I'm sure lots of you know already. I have scoured the internet but have not found any answers that work. I'll list my specs of my phone so you all know what kind of build I have. Could me issue be in the imsprofile.xml file that is in the csc folder within the system folder?

I'm hoping someone has come up with a fix for this before. Also does anyone know if it's possible to make it stop displaying the red verizon screen when it loads up.
Thanks for any input.
I believe the bands are different, which means you will only recieve some services.
As for the boot screen, you will have to get root(I'm pretty sure OF1 now has root), get SuperSU and Flashfire, and flash Stang5Litre's ROM. It's a modified ROM that has a host of improvements, and also gets rid of that red verizon screen upon bootup.
Well I got it to fully work on the AT&T network. I had to access some hidden menus with a dialer code and ws able to change some things to make it work. I'll create a new thread explaining how.
Help me pls

Can you tell me where this new thread is? I also have this phone and i am on t mobile but they both use gsm. I am also having this text message problem and also I cant seem to use my mobile hot spot. I have read on line that it has something to do with the messaging centre number but since it is a verizon phone and they use cdma it does not have one on lolipop. I was wondering what you did to get it to work

I'm at work currently and haven't been able to make the new thread yet. Will be doing it tonight when I get home. I can give you a heads up by saying you will need to root your phone in order to do it if you are not already rooted.

I received this as well. I went ahead and accepted it. I know they are working on root, but I am probably going to replace the V10 with something else soon anyway. Update went smooth and no issues after. as rsswga stated it looks like it is just a security patch.

I went ahead and updated as well to the new software. Two updates in two months. At least they're paying attention to this phone. For the most part.
I am from India and has LG V10 H961N dual sim verizon model. I don't get any OTA and I used kdz file from link below to update to recent patch.
I flashed using uppercut and it works fine. the build number MRA58K is same for me.

So:
Given that the likelihood of root not being achieved, I'm wondering the following:
If this update is more specifically related to security, is it conceivable that it could be taken on my rooted phone, or is it tied to a specific version of Verizon/Android OS?

HELP!! Need Root / Custom ROM assistance for GALAXY S3 SCH-R530X!!!!

Hello! I am one of many of the SCH-R530(X) users and I would like to upgrade to the best available ROM Kernel & Firmware for my device. I am unsure of what carrier it is on, the device does not have active service, and I bought it for $20 USD about a year or so ago
There currently is no SD card installed but I do have 16GB internal - it is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with developers options enabled -
I'm running Baseband Version R530XWWUBMK4 with build number JSS15J.530XWWUBMK4

Now that the nitty/gritty is posted above, I would like to figure out the easiest way to get this ROOTED and have it completely up to date! If I can get Android Pay working with the NFC reader that would be stupendous! I almost installed a malware riddled version of towelroot 4.3 from one of the similar threads, seems this device has been deprecated for a few years now, however I loved the S3 and personally owned an SCH-I535 which lasted me for a good year and a half, unfortunately a friend has taken this device, and installed the guts into another phone for his dad.
I'd like to get this up to date, and try some new apps on it. Any recommendations, or information pertaining to my model would be certainly useful!
Thanks so much XDA and I hope to get some responses!

Your phone appears to be very similary to the i747.
You can probably flash ROMs from that device.
You will get better replies if you posted here https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-all

Is there a safer alternative? I have heard that KingRoot may contain adware/spyware and that's the last thing I need. I'd also like some instructions/information as to perhaps the latest ROM, hopefully working with Android Pay (I know it's possible!)

Not KingRoot but Kingoroot. Both are different.
I've found a cheap alternative solution to broadcast FM radio to bluetooth headsets. Here is the Link
