[Q] Android CAM/DVR devices - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am wondering if there is any android based vehicle security systems. My ideal would be the following...
- Under dash main unit with SATA HADD and SD, SIM and GPS
- Windscreen mount display with touch screen or side button controls
- Capability of 4 cameras - front, rear, dash, cab
- Motion sense to reduce power and space requirements
- Alarm system integration with Phone home capability
With SIM and GPS capability, this could alert me and send me location info and pictures from cams.

My mirror does a lot of that. I will send you a link. It has remote control access but only 2 cams, 12 inch touch screen, voice activated, GPS, hot spot, wifi blue tooth

[Q] HDMI output problem with bars on sides in portrait mode.

Currently, when you connect an external monitor to an Android phone that supports mirroring, the phone makes the assumption that the external monitor is set up in a landscape orientation. Thus, when the phone is held vertically (in this case, the Galaxy S III) in a portrait orientation, the video output on the display is portrait, but centered with black bars on either side. Of course, when the phone is held horizontally, the output fills the external display.
What I'm looking for is a way to force the Galaxy S III to mirror its screen such that when it is held in a portrait orientation, the output will fill the external display. It would have to work across Android - I'm not talking about a specific app in particular, it needs to work consistently across all apps.
The external display would be mounted vertically, so it's essential that the output from the Galaxy S III while in portrait orientation completely fills and has the correct orientation on the external display.

How to get Google Maps Navigation to display a larger area on a lower res phone?

Recently switched to a LG Tribute 2 as my Ringplus GPS phone device which I keep in the car, and Google Maps Navigation is terrible compared to my high resolution 1080p phone. Biggest problem is that everything is so big, and it displays only a fraction of the map when I am driving on the Navigation mode. This makes it difficult to anticipate directions, which lane I should head towards to because the map is so limited and literally displays only at most a few minutes "ahead".
Is there anyway to get Google Maps to show a larger/more map on the Navigation mode using a phone with a lower resolution? The damn words and icons are so big!!!!!

[SOLVED]Lollipop 5.1 - replace dialer with trusted one?

Hi, I'm on Lollipop 5.1(not rooted) on my FireFly Mobile Intense Desire, using Google Now Launcher and I think it's Googles dialer ver. 5.1
I'm missing an option in stock dialer's Recent calls, for sending SMS directly, the only options there is Redial, IP dial and Details - right now I have to press on the name, chose Details then the 3 dots in upper right, then choose Edit number before dial, then the dialer comes up and I have to press the 3 dots there and choose Send SMS - really a drag to have to do it this way, and what I call bad programming.
This is only when the number is not in my contacs. From contacts it's not a problem sending SMS directly.
So I'm looking for an Dialer app (only) I'm happy with my contacts as it is)) that works on 5.1 and can send SMS directly from recents calls - I looked through XDA and Playstore and reviews on the net, but I'm concerned that some of these apps has been sold to chinese companies and some send your call log to china - Zero Dialer seem to be one of these. Therefore I rather ask here, as I trust you guys more than I trust Playstore(there should be more security there, than there actually is).
And a small guide on how to replace my dialer app with the new one, without running into FC and crash.
My phone is:

RAM: 3 GB
ROM: 32 GB expandable via micro SD card slot up to 64 GB(not usable if using second SIM)
Back Camera: 13 MP Sony IMX 214 sensor w/ BSI auto focus and dual LED flash
Selfie Camera: 8 MP BSI
Battery: 3,550 mAh Li Pol w/ quick charging(non-removable)
OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop with Google Now launcher
Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, OTG, dual SIM (hybrid micro)

Edit: I decided to go with Asus ZenUI dialer and contact(I know I said no contacts) and its working just as it should. I had to take contacts because the stock would not work with other dialers.
