Can I plug in my Note to my bluray via usb and watch the movies off of my phone?

I don't believe your player will recognize your phone, the preloaded drivers in your bluray player shouldn't be those required to identify your phone as a media device...give it a shot though, who knows.

If you got a USB card reader, it should see the memory. If it's anything like a previous sony bluray player I used, it's so restricted and fussy about file types and codecs, that nothing really worked.

This isn't basic cable!
Where in the heck do you live that any kind of cable is free? I've never lived anywhere where any cable service is free.
I do know of one way, but you need aTV tuner card connected to your pc. Then you can use orb to stream recklessly to your phone. IMHO the better wow factor comes from the movies. You can easily convert your dvds and video files with handbrake. That's where it's at!

Apologies if this is a stupid question...
When I record a video on my phone, I'd like to be able to stream the clip on to my television through AllShare. Sadly, my television won't play the files. Neither will my 360.
Is it simply that neither will recognise the file format? Or am I doing something completely wrong?
I don't think the 360 supports the playback of recorded videos. I couldn't get mine to work when I tried.
It seemed to be pushing a 3gpp video instead of the mp4 when I did it. Maybe the fact that it was 1080p didn't help either.
Must give it another go at some point.

You can stream via allshare to the xbox, but the xbox has to be in media center mode.

I did the drag and drop thing but still will not play movies. The movies are digital copies that you get when you buy a blueray if that matters? Also I had to extract them from my Itunes library. which is the samething i did for my music and it workes fine. I am also using mobo player. it showes me the movie just can not play it

You might have to convert the files or download an app that supports more file ranges because stock only supports a handful. I'm not sure if moboplayer does this, but you can try vplayer which I believe does.. personally I have all my movies as avi files and use vitalplayer

It's the copy protection in the digital copies. I've never been able to play digital copies on any of my Android phones because of the copy protection. Try downloading a program like DVDFab and rip your movies into M4V format and they play on Mobo Player or even the stock player just fine. If you do a search you can find a post I made a few months back about what settings to use to rip them for best quality.

Is there a HDMI output on the Sony S1?
Getting one soon. And i want to connect it to my Bravia Tv.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
That would be a simple 'no' my friend. Unfortunately, there is no hdmi. The only ports on this tablet are a full sd card slot, and a mini usb. Hopefully, Sony plans on releasing a dock or something? But for now. No hdmi.

You can link it using DLNA or Remote Control
Both easy to set up
DLNA works for listening or watching movies on your TV, kind of similar to HDMI but wirelessly

use DLNA
i'm pritty sure that Bravia TVs support it
Yes dlna is great, but cannot compare AT ALL to a direct video hook up. Plus, you would need a dlna server ( computer) to stream your content. An hdmi would only require the tablet to view anything that's stored on it. Dlna doesn't stream content from the files located on the tab itself. Its completely different than what the op is curious about.

I suppose the microUSB port could also be an MHL>HDMI port. Can't find it mentioned in the specs anywhere though. My HTC Flyer's port is MHL, and essentially doubles as HDMI-out if you need it.
I've got an LG Smart TV above my home PC, and DLNA allows any of my tablets using the right app to send video/movies directly to it over WiFi. Not the same as mirroring the whole UI on the TV which you do usually get if a tablet has any form of HDMI-output.

Ok. You're right about that. However, not all dlna-certified devices support the same file formats. Like my bravia will play any picture or sound, but it will not play any videos from android. A samsung will because it has integrated support. So, an hdmi cable will 'obviously' play anything connected to it because it's a direct stream. Also, dlna is best used with a dmc server. Than it would allow any/most formats.

Hi
I have the sony s tablet, I want to push movies to my Sony Bluray player but my tablet can't find it. My PC finds the bluray ok.
Same here can't find Google TV or blue ray DVD

You have to be connected to the same network. Have you checked that?
If you are connected, then try to go music player, long press any song and options will appear, choose "throw", it'll search for device and should find your blu-ray player or TV

Does your google Tv support DLNA?
And which brand is your Blu-Ray or model?
I know silly question but it usually detects the devices immediately
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
I have the same problem:
the tablet keeps telling that no player has been found when trying to throw songs or pictures to my bravia kdl-40cx520 (ethernet connected). Does the tv need the wifi dongle to be scanned by the tablet? or dlna is independent and a complete different thing?
Thanks for your help
