Which ROM should I choose to port.
I have read some posts and all refers a META-INF folder from base ROM. Where can I find this folder, because the base ROM is a system.img file.

@psild You should ideally choose a device with almost same specifications, screen resolution and hardware if you are starting as a beginner because it required a lot of modding & troubleshooting for different specs device choosen as port ROM.
first it is necessary to extract system.img file. You can use meta-inf folder of port rom also but you need to modify updater script as per your needs. Hope it clarifies.

The reason I want to port another ROM is that I have an unsolved problem with the proximity sensor. When making a long call more than 2 min, the screen does not wake up when taking the phone away from the ear.
I have tested the proximity sensor with some test programs from the play store, and it responds fast.
I made the conclusion that there must be some conflict with the JB dialer. I installed some other diallers from the play store, but the problem remains.
So I decided to port another ROM to fix the problem. I will try another model from the same company DG300 with the same specs, with only difference the screen. (ROMs: http://www.doogee.cc/en/gb/xiazai.asp?Page=1).
Which is the easiest way for a beginer to port a ROM?
I found a lot of aplications on the net, but I cannot decide.
Also the META-INF file from port cannot be found, because the port is also a system.img file.
Can you please advise me what to do?

If you want to flash the ROM via recoveries like CWM or TWRP then Meta-Inf folder is mandatory and if you are not able to find then use of any other mtk6572 device and modify updater script as per your need.
I think proximity problem can be resolved by build.prop edit. Not sure however

i have completly success to port other device which has same specs to my device.. but can u give me tutor that porting other device to our device.. i.e. i wanna port mt6589 or 6577 device to my mt6572 device?? can anyone help??
