Hey guys.
First time poster here.
I have a HTC one which just updated itself to the new HTC sense 5.5 with 4.3
Since then my work pc running xp will not recognize it as a usb device, and will not see it in HTC sync manager either.
I have updated to the newest HTC sync. Deleted drivers etc but still cannot get it to work
When I connect it just asks for cdc serial, looks for driver but can't find it
I use the phone as a camera for my insurance investigation and need it to work.
Any ideas
Thanks jake

Hey guys, as you can see im new to this forum, i have a G2 touch that isn't rooted or anything like that and decided to update to the new ROM on HTC site so i could get OTA upates for 2.1
So i've got all the right drivers for HTC sync (comes up as "ADB Interface - My HTC" in device manager) so that it stays connected when i launch the RUU on my laptop (running Win 7 64-bit), but then when it goes into the first part of the update where my phone is in the bootloader?? part HTC Sync decides to disconnect and the update says its not plugged in an cancels the RUU and im stuck with my phone in what i think is bootloader (it says RUU USB on the screen when plugged in then changes to RUU when i take the cable out)
Anyway, can somebody please shed some light onto what is happening and give me a hand on how to successfully install the ROM update or point me in the direction of a good how to guide
Cheers!
it's a driver issue, update your drivers AND make sure you have the latest version of the htc sync software.
If possible use a machine that isn't using Windows 7 as it's known to cause issues...
Windows 7 has no real issues, just does it differently. Just reinstall the drivers when in the fastboot bootloader mode. Fixed.

The common method of solving drivers issues involves rebooting Windows, testing if it works. Rebooting the device, testing if it works. Rebooting both, testing if they work.
Uninstall the drivers, reboot, reinstall the drivers, test. Reboot, test .. I think you get the general pattern. If there aren't separate drivers then probably replace the phrase drivers in my directions with HTC sync.
Also, there are some drivers which come with the android-sdk you should attempt to test with. I think they might work also with fastboot mode.
Personally, I'm in ubuntu and have no driver issues with the device. Plug in and it works! Hopefully that helps!
The driver install fails on the HTC MTP driver install...I cannot get by this. I am running Windows 7 64 bit...anyone else having this issue?
OMG I fought with that for HOURS. I never did get them to work. I installed htc sync, htc sync manager, and I installed the all in one kit drivers.. Nothing. Windows 7 64 bit too.
I assume you are trying to unlock the bootloader and root?
Do both things manually using fast boot commands and recovery.
Tl;dr you can root without MTP drivers

exactly like me, I have been fighting with this for two days now. Reinstalling htc sync, htc sync manager, cleaning out existing drivers reinstalling again. Removing everything that could be associated with htc at all, reinstalling android sdk etc etc.
Nothing makes my phone recogniced by ´adb devices´not even htc sync software recognice it.
Every time I plug it in, the device is recogniced and installed and it says under Portable Devices in the device manager ´HTC One X+´
Do you get the Choose type of connection screen on your phone when connecting it? Because I dont, is just says connected in debug mode, even if debug development tools is turned of and debug of. But it still doesnt show up in adb.

No, not on this phone.. I think it has to do with the MTP crap. You can read an informative post by Lloir in the dev section to find out more.

hmm.
went back to the store and made them try connecting the phone to one of their laptops, if course everything worked perfectly there
So now im back trying to figure out what to do. Going to find the post you mention and see if I get any hints there.
Did you notice my post above where you I claimed you can root and unlock without the drivers?
What do you need to do that you need them?
Hi,
I am reading this, it is exactly what I recognize with my new One X+ too.
BUT I am not wanting to root or something. I'd like the Navigon software to recognize my device and download the maps like it did on my Desire HD.
Any more hints to how I can get this running ?
regards,
Ruud
Hi heroes!
Ive recently got a strange problem with the HTC Hero gsm drivers, it was working perfectly alright but since last few day whenever I connect it to my laptop running windows 7, it installs some "HTC Remote NDIS based Device" driver and I can neither sync it nor i can open up the sd card on my laptop.
I've the latest SDK and Sync software's installed! I've tried deleting that device from devices and printers and then downloaded driver for windows vista and installed it but again windows somehow picks it up as the driver I mentioned above!
Anyone got a clue whats wrong??
Please help me out!
Thanks.
Thank you all for viewing it 55 times and not bothering to respond once!
Some of us have other issues then "omg lolz my drajvr iz not vorking pliz help" for gods sake google, i dont think you are going to make it work on win7. You can get Hero CDMA drivers that should help
So until maybe a day or two ago, I was fine using MTP on my HTC ONE, but today I went to use it, and apparently the device isn't recognized. I have tried installing HTC Sync Manager, as well as updating the driver using both USB MTP and HTC MTP drivers, and also reinstalling the driver. However when I do anything I get a timeout error. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Thank You
