I need to get my S4 working on Metro PCS and I was wondering if anyone could guide me on that? I searched around but couldn't find much. I need to know exactly what settings to change to get it working and also if Metro's 4G will work with the bands available on the Verizon S4. I'm on ME7 at the moment, so I'm not sure if I have to update to 4.3 to make everything work okay. Any help is appreciated.
bump. Anyone know where I could go for more information on this? Would calling Metro PCS even be worth it?

I have a samsung captivate that is unlocked and rooted. I put a net10 card which is the one that uses att's network but can't get the apn to change. I used the one net10 sent me but still nothing. Not sure if I am doing something wrong or if I just will not work. I am looking for any sugestions or if anyone else has done it. Please any help will be appreciated.
I just bought a brand new Verizon S4 that has never been activated on Verizon for $125. I am trying to get it working with a prepaid carrier in the US. I have been reading that it can be done with T-Mobile and ATT but am not sure where to start with this thing. For starters, the Android OS version is 4.3. I know there is an update out for it through Verizon. I can't do the update OTA with no Verizon service. I'd like to get this thing as close to stock Android/Samsung as possible and kill all the Verizon BS and then get it working on StraightTalk, Cricket, SIMple Mobile, or MetroPCS. Can anyone give me a good place to start or any tips. I've flashed ROMs before, changed PRLs, etc, so I'm no dummy when it comes to this stuff. The terminology/technology has changed some since I was messing with Boost Mobile phones. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Try searching.
You will need to ODIN to 4.4.2.
You will then need to root with "towelroot".
The phone should work with most any GSM carrier with the right setting. (T-Mobile, AT&T and Metro GSM).
Which will give you LTE, I can't answer.

I have used ODIN before when working with my Samsung Galaxy Prevail through Boost Mobile so I'm sure I can figure it out. Thanks for the info. I tried searching and found all kinds of different terminology such as SafeStrap and talking about the different bootloaders. It's a little overwhelming, but I'm sure I can figure it out. I did all of my original stuff through AndroidForums and there as a root section with all kinds of guides, FAQs, etc. Is there a beginners guide or FAQ for the Verizon S4?
I have read where I need to change the APN settings to get HSPA+ or 4G LTE with the different GSM carriers. It seems like HSPA+ is the best I'll get and that's through ATT. I'll keep digging! Thanks!
I have mdk Verizon s4 rooted and custom recovery. i'm looking to switch the phone from verizon to at&t will i be able to just flash a rom that has at&t pack like hyperdrive and get an at&t sim card. is that possible? is there any other way i can do this while still getting 4g lte? thanks in advance
The ROM and recovery do not matter. The VZ S4 is unlocked already from Verizon.
I don't know about ATT specifically, but I am using a straight talk plan with the ATT SIM card and it works fine. You just have to update your APN settings but they tell you exactly how.
The only drawback is you will not get LTE , at least not in NY where I am.
I get HSPA+ speeds which seem fast enough for anything I use including streaming video etc.
If you can get LTE to work, let me know.

Got my Verizon phone rooted and up and running on the Metro PCS network using helpful guides here. I'm on MK2 4.3. I'm a little bit in the woods as what to do next. I want to install a custom rom, but I don't want to lose my services to Metro PCS. I had to put in the APN and other information manually. I'm just wondering if it is ok to install custom roms now or will it mess me up. Any nudge in the right direction or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I can send/receive calls, texts, and gps works fine. Not sure about the speeds yet, but every looks fast so far.
Hello i am relatively new to this, i'm having a hard time getting my verizon i545 to connect to the metro pcs network which runs under tmobile.. im assuming theres someway to get it to work since it can work under tmobiles network.. please help
Never tried it myself but there is post around here, that i seen and cant seem to find, that says you need to be rooted and use RegionLockAway. You might be able to find it better than I.
