Hello,
I bought gt i5500 knowing that its memory card slot isnt working (i just needed it for calling) but it turned out I cant make pictures even though there is like 150mb of space in the phone memory - when I turn camera on it always asks for memory card.
I have a question is it possible to change it and make the telephone use internal memory so that I can take at least few pictures?
Thanks in advance.
I haven't heard anything similar before.
I think it's possible.
Google it.
You may find something.

What you need is a modified Camera.apk & Gallery.apk to read/write in internal memory instead of SD card.

Before we start, I am NOT Criticizing this great ROM, I Love it...
Firstly, I bought a 4GB SD Card, which doesn't install App's on it (it does recognize 3990MB) it may just be my memory card is broke before arrival, if anyone has same problems please let me know as if not then i know its my new card...
Secondly, The <<<Left direction Key doesn't work at all! not in txts (moving back letters) and not in the Programs Menu (won't move left to program items)
These are not major problems for me, but though i'd shine some light on my findings....

That's definitely a hardware problem. Try taking your charmer apart and see whats going on in there. There's a tutorial in wiki.

Could you specify that a little bit more? Secondly, did you format your card card? It shouldnt be 3990MB but somewhere between 3,6-3,7GB.
thanks for quick reply vlodeck, OK I'll open it up and have a look to see if its plugged in (its a new phone), i have a couple of keypads coming tomorrow too, so i'll try those too if all fails. Now the memory card, after formated to fat16 or fat32 (which i have as default) shows total free memory 3900MB (sorry not 3990MB) I'll tell you tommorow if it works.

just incase people read this, it was my memory card faulty, so not a rom specific problem.
hi i just got a samsung galaxy s3, but there is no app 2 sd card function like on the galaxy s2. Can Someone help me out here, i have even tried app to sd apps but those don't seem to work either.
it has been already answered, learn to use the search button, it will be useful for you to solve your queries soon
and the answer is sgs3 uses whole internal sd for apps(11gb) so there is no need for app to sd
i thought it was possible to move apps to the external sd card because i remember doing that on the s2...i just came from and iphone...so bare with me...sorry about the search i thought it was a limitation of the s3 not android.

no worries learn soon
It is a limitation of S3, not Android. I read the OneX has that functionality.
bala_gamer, with all due respect the 16GB internal sd is not enough.
I managed to fill it the second day. I have many games and i use (used, not anymore unfortunately) Google Play Music, which is supposed to store offline music on the external sd, but couldn't do so on my S3.
Users MUST be given the option to move to sd as they were previously able to.
This is just a Samsung blunder.
One X has not SD card slot -> it can't have app2SD
Samsung could include it but for whatever reason they won't and just blame Google, so what I think is Samsung either leaves it out so they can start making more phones with different memory sizes and make more money from the sales, or they don't like the way Google has changed the file system to allow better ExFat support and Samsung left it out to highlight the problem and get customers on their side to get Google to change.
Hi can someone please help me out.
i have just inserted a new sd card in my phone,
ive already transferd a few files to it so i no its working.
well im using the application app 2 sd to move apps , well i have apps that it says can be moved but when i click on them there is no option for sd card and also i get a message saying: the device does not have a real primary external storage, or primary external storage is emulated
can someone help me please
anyone? :/
Could be a copy sdcard card, loads kickin around from China
Also why u need a2sd don't u have enough on phone storage?
No it's proper sand disk I think from ebuyer, well I have about 10 apps and I have around 250-300mb left just wanted to free some up as when I install n.o.v.a 3 it's like 2.gb and that installs to whine storage aswell not sd. I think I've read that none if the apps to sd work yet for sgs3 :/

There's plenty of open topics about this. Search for them.
Basically Samsung intended the internal, external cards and dropbox to work as one big storage for all apps, app data and user files... or something like that.
So they disabled the Move To SD option in the app manager. Unfortunately it doesn't quite work like they intended and the external SD is practically useless as most apps (99%) can't read or write to it.
I'm reading around now to see if anything new happened but it's looking grim.
This thread should be closed.
Any updates on this? I still want to move my App Data to the external SD card. In this way my new SGS3 is even worse than my Galaxy Y -.-
as far as I know it does not work with S3. maybe an update coming soon

It works. It requires some handywork though on the shelll.
maybe there will be a noob friendly mod soon for those that want to use .sd card for apps?

I'm just hoping for a custom Rom with App moving, UMS mode and fixed user dictionary so I'm not having to patch up the f**k ups that Samsung made and have it all built in like it should be.

Bought my tablet yesterday. While charging it before turn on I took my 64 Gb MicroSD out of my Galaxy Note and fitted it to the tablet. After turning on the tablet I get update notification. Upgraded to 4.2.2 and it had no problems recognising the MicroSD card. Maybe your card is faulty.
After the update, I was pretty excited to see the users capability. However, when I am on the secondary account, the SD Card is not shown under storage. Is anyone else seeing this? I also noticed you can't turn Stamina on or off from the secondary account, only from the Main User account. I'm assuming this has something to do with Administrator rights, but is there a way to change that so the secondary account can see the SD Card?
EDIT: It appears as though the SD Card issue is the SOP for multiple user accounts. This is why the recent Nexus devices have no SD Card slot. I'm going to try SwitchMe from the Play Store to see if that fulfills my needs.

The manual states that only one person can use the sd card and that is the primary account.

I didnt have any problem with my sd card which is 64Gigs when I had 4.1.2 although it wasnt Exfat though (not now either) but it still recognizes it as 64 gigs as its fat I cant copy a file that is bigger than 4gigs but I can have 32 almost 50 gigs of data there no problem at all.
Hello guys,
I'm absolutely furios right now... just bought a new SD card and guess what? Insufficient storage available.... I read like 50 articles, tried many ''solutions'' and nothing helped... I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace 5830i. If anyone can help me I'm even willing to pay. Just want to play games
Firstly, you have to check if the sdcard is fake:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=730285
You could buy a 64 GB card and have the same message. The message is about the internal storage, not the SD card storage. Most apps and app data do not automatically save to the SD card (for a variety of reasons). This is not an issue with the phone (other than the fact that it's a budget phone and all the downsides that entails), as it's only made to do so much. If you are rooted, there are some options, possibly, such as Links2SD, swapping the mounting points to switch the internal and external storages, or something like one of the CronMod solutions. If you aren't rooted or don't want to, then your options are severely limited to basically moving some of the apps to SD, if supported, but it's not a great solution as it does not move much of the data over and doesn't support all apps, meaning don't put keyboards, live wallpapers, home launchers, or widgets on the SD card.
Hi, i had the same problem with the same phone and as es0tericcha0s say root is the solution, then you can do what you want you will see. if you have question you can ask me.
