I currently have a Galaxy S2 for almost 3 years it has served me really well, even after all this time i still enjoy it and it looks really good.
But 3 days ago i lost it. I proceeded to try to find where it was so i used Samsung's "Find My Phone", ended up not knowing where it was and i sent some commands to lock the phone up as soon as it connected to the internet.
So since i always have my Mobile Data turned off i googled, and finded an app (Android Lost) that can help me to turn on Data via sms, plus retrieve the phone's location. Ended up installing it via Play Store and sending an sms to register and enable mobile data.
Well i woke up next day and i finded out it was in a friend's car so i pick it up and it actually installed android lost, but wifi isnt working. I cant get it to work.
My phone is i9100 with 4.1.2 Stock + Dorimanx 8.43
Currently i have already done:
- Reflash Stock Firmware (I've flashed an European Version and my Carrier Version)
- Reflash Serveral Kernels:
--- Siyah Kernel (Cant flash via zip, i get status 7 refering build=i9300 + Cant flash via odin gets stuck at NAND Write(Ive already used Odin 3.07 and 1.3 but it doesnt work))
--- CWM KitKat Compatible
--- Dorimanx 8.43
--- Apolo 6.2b
--- PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSS-OXX
- Restore old 4.4.1 ROM with CWM KitKat compatible kernel, that worked fine.
I have already wiped data + cache + dalvik, plus i runned all cleaning scripts (GS2KernelWipe, GS2ROMNuke,...)
ROM's not working:
- 4.4.2 CM 11 Alpha
- MIUI v5
I can still make calls, send messages, use mobile data and use bluetooth.
The current problems i need to get solved are the following:
-- Wifi not turning ON
-- Can't flash ROM other than the Stock one, all Custom ROM's with different kernel's even after wipes get stuck at Samsung Logo
Honestly i've been searching and tried everything i found for the last 3 days and i still have hope because i saw someone saying that
if bluetooth works so may wifi because they are related in the same chip.
Can someone help ?
Ok Yesterday i was able to install MIUI v5 ROM after installing SpeedWizz Kernel 4.2 via ODIN.
Still no Wifi though !
Is it true the wifi and bluetooth module are the same ?

I've downloaded & copied the following file "miuiscotland_I9100-2.3.7.zip" from http://www.galnetmiui.co.uk/content/weekly-downloads to internal SD. Then, flashed it via CWM recovery after Wiping System/Data, Cache partition, Dalvik cache & Battery stats. Now, the Samsung logo appears again & again (BootLoop). I flashed Stock ROM to get the phone running (Recovery wasn't accessible before). How do I get this Galnet MIUI ROM working ?. I'm coming from AndyX ROM v5.0 (ICS) XXLPB with Kernel that came with it..
Need HELP !!! PLZ
Do a factory reset after you've installed GM. If it fails after that, do a 2nd flash without a wipe/reset.
Can't say I've ever had problems installing GM (P.S - GM is kinda taboo on XDA, might want to refer to GM forums in future).

I can't get into CWM recovery after flashing the zip, Just download mode works. Have to flash stock ROM again. Tried Siyah & Speed Mod kernel, doesn't work..
OK. So the process should be:-
1) Factory Reset
2) Install GM
If you end up with a bootloop, normally you'd go into recovery & wipe data/factory reset. And if that failed, you'd try a 2nd install without wipe.
And if that fails, which it obviously has for you, best I can offer is ask on GM forums. Unfortunately they lost their old forums recently (or decided it was too hard to restore them when they renovated their site), so a lot of good advice has been lost.
Someone in one of the few posts there now suggested installing Siyah to get CWRecovery then doing the reset, but you say you've tried that so that's a tough one.
Edit to add - Their old forums might be cached somewhere on the web, depending on how keen you are you might be able to find something that way.

Finally it's Working !!!
Flashed the wrong Siyah Kernel Before. Now, after flashing the ROM, switched off the phone & Flashed Siyah kernel 2.6.13 via Odin & Voila.. It boots !!! Thnx!
Heard about the Fluxxi kernel. Is it good in saving Battery Life ???
Glad you got it working You'll find Siyah 2.6.13 works really well with GM. All Siyah builds have.
Yes, I've heard of Fluxxi (I downloaded it), but I haven't tried it. I'm using CM9 at the moment.
No probs

Hi to everyone!
I have a Samsung I9300T (Australian version). A few months ago I flashed my phone through CM Installer from stock Rom (Vodafone's Android 4.1.2) to CM 11 M2. And there were no problems.
A month ago I flashed CM 11 M6. And after upgrading from M2 to M6 my phone started rebooting at random times. In these moments, the display goes black, then the logo "Samsung S3" is displayed for a few seconds, then reboot again and it lasts permanently. I flashed cm m2 back, but this problem not solved.
I've made full wipe, installed M7, installed GApps, made full wipe. And it's still reboots.
I've reinstalled CWM recovery through ROM manager. And it's still reboots.
I've made full wipe. installed another ROM (not CM), made full wipe. And it's still reboots.
I've flashed default stock and recovery from vodafone (4.3) through Odin, and it's still reboots.
Please, help me with this trouble.
Thank you.
If it is still the same on a fresh install of stock firmware then it is a hardware issue.

When I flashed a stock ROM, I found some files from CM ROM in phone memory. How can I make full format of all data in phone? I think some parts of old ROM make bugs. And maybe kernel was modified, may it cause these problems?
Hi, since some time I can't switch on WiFi on slimsaber 4.4.4.
Before I install slimsaber I make format of data, cache and system partition in recovery. Then I install slim saber, gapps and after that dorimanx kernel. During setup on WiFi screen I got message that I should switch on wifi. I skiped that and after setup process finished I tried to switch on WiFi from settings but it doesn't work. When I flash Gustavo_s kernel everything is OK. I've discovered that when I flash ROM as 2nd ROM everything works so I've cloned 2nd ROM to 1st ROM. After that WiFi in 1st ROM works. When I tried to update ROM to last one (26.07.14) WiFi stopped work again and I had to start everything again (2nd rom->1st). I've resized partitions some time ago but I don:'t think that it could be the source of the problem.I've tried kernel wipe script but it didn't help.
Does anyone have idea what is wrong?
Nobody to answer over a year????

Many people has same problem with kitkat(not all versions) and nobody from DorimanX team did not solve and answered that???????
Wifi problems are from the updated wifi drivers in the kernel. Your ROM is not compatible with the updated driver, hence you experience wifi issues. I'm still trying to work this out, usually this can be solved by further updating of wifi drivers or reverting commits.
Who do you mean by dorimanx team? Do you mean cybernetus, computoncio and dorimanx? The only active developers are chhapil and myself. Other dorimanx legendary users are m1trand1r and Troubadour666 (and few others that I haven't mentioned yet).
Help guys. So my problem is that, my SG3 I9300 is keep on rebooting. It'll just boot to my desktop for about 2-3 seconds then it will reboot again and again. I have to remove my battery for about half an hour and put it back on to reboot successfully. Another thing is that after it reboots successfully, when I use applications like FB / COC it also reboots on its own so as the stock camera application. Apollo is a system app like the camera right? But Apollo works without any problem unlike the camera.
I thought it is a bootloop problem, just like what I've said on my previous post. Sorry for that.
So here are the things I've tried:
1. Flash stock rom (from Sam mobile) thru Odin
2. Delete cache and factory reset in custom recovery
3. Factory reset on TWRP - Wipe everything including Internal sd - Flash Megawipe
4. Flash other custom roms thru TWRP/CWM
5. Flash stock rom thru Kies
The problem still occurs after everything I've done. So please help me
Thanks! :good:
Current rom: cm11 m12
Android version: 4.4.4 KK
Kernel: boeffla 2.7 NG

Try another battery if not it is a faulty power button or other hardware problem. I see you have tried other roms so this rules out a software problem....

I'm hoping it is a battery problem alone. I'll note that for now bud, thanks! :good:
so ive been out of the loop for a while (2-3 years) but decided to updated my old omega v34, boeflla kernel jellybean s3 to the one in my sig (essentially blisspop+boeflla 4 alpha 13+gapps lollipop).
i updated my boot manager to twrp as suggested. rebooted. i did a format data, folowed by delvik cache and cache wipe, then a system wipe. i then installed the rom and gapps, then rebooted. i was still on the old kernel at this point.
as i rebooted i experienced some hanging, and then after taking off the battery and rebooting and finishing the setup process, i rebooted and installed the latest lollipop boeffla kernel. i still got some hanging so i full wiped again and repeated the process of installing the rom/gapps. my modem as remained the same and i have not updated it since last i did 2012.
as of now, i am still experiencing some freezes, but not as frequent as before and some slowdown. is there something that i messed up or forgot to do in the installation? any help is greatly appreciated.
@rab1412000412:
1. TWRP is a recocery, not a bootloader.
2. Maybe, you should update your firmware 1st. What modem is installed?
ddlj1 from 2012. i changed my gapps and its much more stable now.
@rab1412000: then you had old 4.1-firmware and can be happy, that LP-ROM didn't refresh your modem. I recommend to go back to your old firmware. Make sure, that IMEI and net access are ok. Then update via KIES, OTA or Odin to newest 4.3. Backup this version and flash any ROM you want.
