I was installing cyanogenmod on my Optimus G.
I backed up everything and copied the backup to my pc.
When cyanogenmod was installed the storage tab said i had 10GB free out of 25 but i had nothing installed nor i could find any large file on the device. I figured the files i had when using the stock rom were in another partition so i went into recovery and formated the /data partition and got 24GB free. Then i did the most stupid thing i could do: i thought i might have deleted some important file so why not reinstall cyanogenmod?
i did a factory reset to reinstall cyanogenmod and of course the rom wasnt in the sd card.
Now i´m stuck in clockworkmod recovery (v6.0.4.5) and dont have any zip to install. And I cant get adb to work, it always says device not found.
Do you need to have a rom installed to use adb?
What can i do now?

Okay before posting i have spent the majority of the day on this forum, the net and just generally searching for a solution. I installed the latest Omega V18 rom today with the latest Siyah-Dorimanx kernal. No issues, installed and worked fine recovered all my data. I was having a problem with Omega files kitchen, so i decided to wipe everything and try and start from fresh. I did a backup with CMW and Titanium, then i put the CMW backup ontop my laptop and wiped the phone and reinstalled everything, i was still getting the same problem and i went into Titanium and deleted all my backups, why i never know! But i still have the one on the laptop. Went for a final reinstall and obviously Titanium has no backup but my CWM backup is showing but i cant restore it in recovery mode or when the phone is on normally.
The phone works fine running Omega V18 Rom and Siyah-Dorimanx V7.43. No problem with booting or going into recovery mode, when i connect the phone to the usb on the laptop it comes up with removable disc E. My back up is on there and i can see it and open the folder and view the contents. However when i try to restore the backup either through CWM (V3.15) or booting into recovary mode the phone cannot find the back up.
I have tried all the restore options in recovery mode and i get E: Can't mount sdcard. So i'm stuck i have tried wiping all my data and doing factory reset etc and starting from the start, but still no joy. I have also tried to follow another guide on here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238070 When i try to load the ED05 Froyo into Odin it fails.
Im desperate for a solution i just need my pictures back Anyhelp will be greatly appriciated, is there any thing i can do?
EDIT: I have just flashed it with Odin and a stock rom, now where do i go from here? Do i have to re-root the phone and install a custom rom again.
CWM and TB don't save your pictures! They are still there, on internal or on external SD Card, if you haven't deleted them by formating. Where did you save them?
I thought CWM did a full backup? Well atm the phone is running 4.0.4 ICS and when i go into stock recovery i still get the same cant mount sdcard!! Well i did format the whole phone and did factory reset so looks like i have lost them for good then? Now its back to standard why still cant it mount the sdcard?? I have placed the right Philz-cwm6 kernel onto the internal sdcard and go into stock boot and try to apply update and comes up E: unable to mount sdcard.

Do you have an extra sd card ? I am not joking I have realized last week that I didn't bother to buy one nearly 2 years ago :good:
If you have saved your pictures on external sd card you can always take it out, put it into your sd slot in your notebook or pc and copy the files to your hard drive.

I have a small external card, but i didn't save the pictures to it or anything. I just assumed when i did my previous backups that it saved my files. Anyways i learnt that lesson the hard way it seems.
I connected the phone via usb and it came up E: Removable disc so i formatted it in windows, the put Philz kernel onto it and when into stock recovery and then tried to update via externel sd card and it fails to mount as usual. So why is E drive coming up in windows but not in the phone? Im really starting to loose my mind over this now, how do i fix this on a stock rom!
EDIT: I have flashed the Philz kernel via Odin, now i can get into CWMR Touch 6.0.1.4 I can go into the mounts and storage menu and mount /emmc but i still can't mount the /sdcard. I can now however apply an ZIP update from internal sdcard so now im getting too confused and lost i have been working for at least 10 hours on this in total so im going to bed and will try again tomorrow!!
I am a complete noob and got my lesson for messing up with my phone. I have an already rooted SGH i777 and was trying to flash OMNI Rom for 4.4. I wiped emmc by mistake. Although I did back my stuff up, they are no where to be found.I get cannot mount SD card error through CWM v6. I read somewhere that this is resultant of having no operating system in my phone anymore.
My phone is not recognised by computer. But I can access an external microSD card while booting recovery using CWM. Please help me as I am completely lost without my phone. You patience is deeply appreciated.

If that's the case, you should be able to put a rom on the micro SD card and simply flash it in recovery. You may have lost your backups, but if you can flash a rom via the SD card you ought to be fine.
Let us know if you need any more help,
sent from the i777
I'm not clear what you mean by "I wiped EMMC." Can you please describe exactly what you did, and describe the options you used if it was through recovery, which I assume it would have been.
If you put the phone into download mode while Odin3 is open on the desktop, does Odin3 recognize the phone?
FYI: TWRP file browser sees internal memory as "emmc". From the advanced wipe menu of TWRP, exists the option to wipe internal memory.
edit: really annoyed that I am limited to eight thanks at a PC, which has a much more comfortable interface than the XDA app, where I have unlimited thanks to offer my peers.
This is what happened
Dear all,
Thank you for your help. This is what I did. I tried to install Omni ROM for 4.4. I I downloaded the .zip file for the ROM and Gapps package zip and SuperUser zip. I went to CWM based recovery mode and wiped data/factory reset and wipe cache partition and in advanced wipe dalvik cache.( I did not run any wipe script as mentioned in this forum. I would have avoided all this if i actually paid attention and read the correct way of flashing here.)
I then went on to mounts and storage and did format/cache , system, data and preload. But also format /emmc
After that no ROM could be flashed and I could not access any recoveries. I realised my error when I saw the log that No files are found and couldnt open directory.
Update :
My phone is not recognized by Odin v1.85 and I also put a SAMSUNG_UCLE5.zip for SGHi777 given by a friend on to a microSD card and tried flashing that ROM from external microSD.
The log says:
I:Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
I tried to partition just to see if it works. This time the log says
I:Can't format unknown volume :/external_sd. I never had an external sd card, but I gather that the system was partitioned in such a way that one chunk is considered external_sd.
Odin doesnt recognise it in download mode. I tried every USB port, changed data cables, tried different drivers available on Samsung website.
Please tell me I didn't ruin my phone. Any help is deeply appreciated.

This is beyond my level of understanding. I'm not sure what block 1p1 is. All of the partitions are designated as 0px where x is a number 1-15~.
I assume you've tried all the variables to get Odin to recognize the phone in download mode. Since Odin doesn't recognize download mode, I don't know of anything else to do but send it to someone with jtag equipement. It'll cost you maybe 40 or 50 bucks, but at least you can get your phone back. The person most trusted in the forums here for this sort of repair is Josh at Mobile Tech Videos.
I used ODIN to flash my tab and installed TWRP 2.2.0 on it, but the i accidently wiped enerything from the internal storage and lost the flashable_superuser.zip file that is needed to. Now I can't access the sd card or internal storage to put the file back. So what do I do? Through the damn thing in the garbage... i just want a working tablet....:crying:

Did you wipe system as well? Seeing that you wiped internal storage it wouldn't hurt to reflash stock ROM with Odin since there's nothing to lose. You can also use adb to push the file to the sdcard.

Hi,
I'm using an LG Optimus G E970 with E971/E970[Actually my friend installed it & we both don't remember] Kitkat 4.4.2 ROM installed in the device which was working fine until it went blank & deleted all my data including the ROM. So I tried to install the ROM with the TWRP recovery in it. But when I open it the internal storage display as 0MB instead of 16GB & Unable to mount System, Data, Cache, Boot . Then I used LGNPST to use the .bin file to copy but I get an error that Failed to Write Primary Partition GPT, 512th Sector. The Master Bin copies until 85%, Instead of rebooting I get this error. Can someone help me with issue?
Files that I used for LGNPST:
LGNPST_LS970.dll
LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013.bin
LGNPST_2.2.3_ACG.exe to execute

i've done this LGNPST thing many times but i dont remeber if it is suppose to show a write primary partition error. it does however stop at 85% everytime. then youd just go to the stock recovery (volume down and power button) and do a factory reset and all is well.
Restore EFS Partition
Hey you can restore EFS partition and then do LGPNST again.

I too am facing exactly the same issue. Can anyone help with this
Same issue here. The phone just crashed in the middle of the night, everything gone.
Tried LGNPST, restoring EFS (script fails, using adb works but doesn't change anything).
Seems like the phone needs to go to the trash...
Bummer.
I'm hoping to get something clarified when it comes to installing ROMs. My phone was working fine for a couple of months since I acquired it, I started getting a bootloop yesterday, and I decided to use TWRP to do a factory reset. Still bootloop. I did another factory reset + wiped out internal storage, and reinstalled the ROM. Checked file manager in TWRP, and saw that internal storage is still empty, with the exception of the TWRP folder, and the ROM zip I transferred back on using my laptop.
I tried booting up anyway, and still have a boot loop.
Is it normal for a successful ROM flash to have an empty internal drive? Are the folders Android, data, DCIM, and the rest all populated on the internal drive upon successful bootup? Or is it something that's supposed to be there right after a successful ROM flash?
I'm having a had time figuring out what I need to do at this point.
