Disabled: The hardware capacitive buttons on the bottom do not respond at all.
Enabled: They work like normal.
This has been tested with AOKP, but it should also work with CM9.
Please note that this does not change the Navigation bar in any shape or form... it only disables/enables the capacitive buttons.
Flashing Instructions:
BEFORE DOING ANY OF THIS, make sure that your nav bar is activated and usable.
1. Download the file that you need and put it somewhere on your phone
2. Flash via CWM (no need to wipe any caches)
3. Reboot
Same instructions for both zips.
See second post for downloads.
Enable capacitive keys
Disable capacitive keys
So, disabled = ics on-screen controls only and enabled = hardware buttons?
(do the on-screen buttons show when hardware buttons are enabled?)
Are you planning flash instructions? I guess you're expecting plenty of failed installs either way?

EDIT: and you have to enable/disable the nav bar manually... this only changes the actual hardware buttons.

1. Yes. Exactly what you said.
2. Yes, but you can always disable them from settings. These zips do not change the state of the onscreen buttons; they just change the state of the hardware buttons.
also I clicked thanks by accident. lol.
Wait, was this supposed to go into general?
Idk? Mods please move it if it's not in the right place.

Sorry i'm a noob, I tried multiple settings and none worked. I had a look at the louder volume hack config file but i got a
bit confused at what to edit. I tried other apps like volume+ but they just make the phone sound bad!

The first question would be, why would you want to. The TW features (s voice, gnow, multiwindow, blah blah) are written for the hard keys.
But if you really want to try this. It was written for the S3, But may still serve your purpose.

I know why I'd like to have the AOSP Navbar in TW on my note 2. Because i love to use my stylus, but its a pita to have to use my fingers to go back, home etc. with the Navbar I can strait use the stylus without the hassle of using the hard keys with my fingers or holding the little mini button on the stylus to draw an arbitrary design i create to do what the navbar can do natively.
But alas i've come to find somethings in aosp just dont work right in TW. and i tried the navbar on the note 2 awhile back but I just wasnt impressed. got some FC's here and there etc.
good luck and post up your results. would love to hear if it works for you.
cheers
Thanks Works on Note 3 9005 Android 4.2.2

As noted, the S4 started on Jelly Bean. Also, unless you're running the MDK build, you will have very limited ability to flash custom ROMs.
Ok thanks. I know this has been asked over and over. Is there any way at all to use bluetooth controllers such as a wiimote on my phone?
My phone is already rooted and on a custom rom.

Thanks for the fast and useful replies. Its great to know that I can use some kind of wireless controller, guess I'll go and buy a ps3 controller.
I got the netgear screencasting gizmo. and it don't work.
I tried a bunch of devices they all connect but then disconnect. I determined its likely that I am rooted (not optional so unrooting is never going to be an option)
I determined this because the only 2 devices that will work (unrooted s3's) are unrooted. every rooted device fails.
this is BS and should be illegal for them to do this. SO how do I get around it?
either software or hardware solution to getting around this immoral and in my opinion illegal restriction.?
is there a device out their without this crippling built into it? maybe hacked firmware for one of them or something?

See link below; I kind of dig that you're frustrated, but there are solutions out there, most of them provided by the very devs that enabled you to root your device in the first place...

You should be able to use the Xposed patch library file in the link on your S3 ( libwfd_engine.so).
Don't know which file it is for the Note 3.

I have the same problem and have been looking for an answer. I have seen some fixes for the S3 and Note 2 but not the note 3. I have a Tronsmart 1000 and I have been trying to get the mirroring to work. The EZ Cast program works but I need the mirroring to work. If you find any more information please post it here and I will do the same.
Cheers!

I limited my answer from the jump to the Note 3. After reading my comments, I may have been unclear on that metric. However, if you read the posts I've made in this thread, they've all stated overtly that the Xposed app to which I linked will work for the S3, and not for the Note 3.

Yup. I was specifically saying only that a solution existed for your S3 and perhaps others here whom may have a Note 2.
But...that library file must have its counterpart for our phone under a different name, or that library file resides elsewhere from system, library, as those files are everywhere, not only in system (look at Google Now for the quick search box, for just one example, it has two in /data).

I know with the official Samsung Allshare cast module you have to be on a stock kernel. I would say to try that. I am on Jellybomb 3.2 and screen mirroring works perfectly.
