If your phone warranty is out, than just leave it, right now there's no tool to reset it accept from SAMSUNG themselves. If its still under warranty than good luck to you in sending in for repair, they might honour it or maybe not. If they don't than just pay for their service charge and parts change.

[Q] Device Encryption & Warrenty

I was wondering if anyone's heard of encrypting the device voiding the warranty.
Also, if I lose the password and have NOT rooted the phone and have NOT turned on USB debugging, is there some way to do a factory reset on it? (I don't plan on rooting my phone anytime soon)
I have a Samsung Galaxy S II.
Thanks
You can factory reset the device from the bootloader. No need for rooting.
Thanks, however...
Thanks, however it appears that enabling the bootloader voids the warranty, making it almost as undesirable as rooting to me.
Is there a way to do the factory reset without voiding the warranty when I've locked myself out?
(Also, it'd be nice to have my other question answered)
Thanks again
P.S. I clicked on the "tip us?" link on this thread and it says I voted...I'm not sure what that means though. I had javascript disabled so that may be effecting it.

Shut down the device, then Volume Up + Power will take you to a menu.. You can factory reset from there. It won't void your warranty. Don't know whether encrypting would void the warranty..

[Q] How to UnRoot?

Hi,
I need to get my s3 unlocked quickly because i'm going away tomorrow.
I took it to a store and asked them if it would affect the warranty. He said that if it gets rooted, then yes. He said he would check and connected it to his laptop.
Before I knew it, the phone was rooted. He tried to cancel it but it appears to be too late. (and the simlock is still in place).
The phone has had problems and been repaired a few times under warranty. So I dont want to lose the warranty.
How can I unroot the phone back to how it was?
Also, if the phone gets rooted and unlocked, can I re-unroot it and re-lock it in the event I need to make a warranty claim?
Thanks
Dan
We have faqs and guides no need for this question .
See How to return to stock for warranty thread .

[Q] Root & Warranty

If I Rooted my Phone (Alcatel One Touch Pop C5) the warranty will be voided But if i permanently unRoot or Temporarily unroot my phone again because something happened to it and i want to use the warranty (and if i haven't use custom roms or modified my Phone) will the Warranty be unvoided or it will still be voided ?

Triggered KNOX without doing anything

I just found out my knox is 0x1 now. I did not root or do anything to my s6. Updated to 5.1.1 . But there is one thing I am not sure if that will triggered knox.
I set up Find my mobile and on the reactivation lock. After that I tried to boot into recovery to do a factory reset. But it shows the reactivation lock and wasn't able to boot into recovery. So I boot into my phone and turn it off. I was able to factory reset my phone again. After that I tried looking at the info, it says KNOX is 0x1. I am sure before that was 0x0 as I have checked it. Will trying to boot into recovery while reactivation lock is on trigger the knox? Hope someone have information about this. And hope other don't make the same mistake as I do if you do not want to tripped your knox.
You should just root the device now. Samsung will not be able to help you because the device is now considered OOW.
I'm getting my edge tomorrow from ebay seller...its brand new but just to be on the safe side, how do i check the knox count?

Rooting Status: Unknown

Can anyone provide the TA partition for the device? (Not sure if it can be used from other device)
Have the rooting status as unknown after official bootloader unlock. Flashtool relock not working and neither does flashing the stock software seem to help. Fastboot keeps saying command not allowed to everything.
Any ideas welcome.
hello i have same problem. did you find the solution for this problem ?
Not as of yet, Sony support responded to wait for next release, which apparently is supposed to have some fix to it, maybe.
any progress bro ?
because .260 is rolling out
beware of MyXperia!
Disable MyXperia before unlocking the bootloader!
It is in the SONY documentation (maybe you did not read it and just clicked it away).
Do not EVER enable MyXperia again after unlocking the bootloader. You will brick your device.
TA partition is lost for unlocked bootloader. No known way to recover it or to backup it before unlocking with Lollipop only devices.
Content of TA partition is device specific.
@DHGE are there any solution for this problem ? I already update to latest is by the xfirm and flashtools but my rooting status still unknown and when I start my tablet for the first boot I unchecked everything that have Xperia sign..

You need to send it in to SONY for repair.
Maybe they swap the board or can do some flash magic.
This will be no warranty repair.

I asked: could I pay for repair if BL results unlocked?
They replied: if BL results unlocked, the device won't be repaired in any way
