I am now on my 3rd MT4G and I just had some problems in connection with Google Maps 5 and/or Latitude. I open the application and it freezes. The screen is unresponsive and I only can close the application via the home button. I cannot use the menu button, backward button neither the icons on the top for places, layers etc... this happens on wifi as well as on cell connections. I am not sure if it is a software problem or hardware problem because I never had this problem before on my other MT4Gs. I factory reset the phone and it still happens from time to time. Has anybody the same problems?
Every time I open the market my data connection drops while on cell data (not wifi)...
Goes from blue H+ to no data for a bout 30 seconds and comes back with the black H+
Anyone else able to reproduce this?
*edit* Should have mentioned this happens both with new market leaked apk and the stock 2.3.4 market
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Make sure that your phone is logged into Google Talk by following these steps:
Go to your phone’s app launcher, and press the Talk app
If you’re already logged into Talk, press Menu, and then touch Sign out
Launch Talk again to sign in
This is a known issue from the markets support page, I had the same problem and did this, it definitely fixes it but I think there are some bugs in this gingerbread update
Sorry to bring a thread back from the dead...
Is anyone else still having this issue? I've searched and searched and have not found anything. Whenever I go into Market, my data times out and I have to turn on then turn off airplane mode in order for my data to start back up.
Could not add google account > did factory reset > can not get through initial setup
Hi guys,
All was well except when I tried to add a google account this happened
screen 1
Just a sec...
screen 2
Add your account
google
sing in to get the most out of your device. i
Enter your email [I enter my email and have tried others for testing]
screen 3
Error sorry there seems to be a problem. Please try again.
For troubleshooting I tried
Disabled 2FA on google account
Removed account from other device
rest app settings
sign in via multiple apps, contacts, playstore, youtube, add accounts et cetera
Enabled Backup my data and automatic restore
Connected via VPN
Update system software
Nothing worked so I did a factory reset. Now the part of the initial setup that is supposed to add a google account gets stuck on
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
But I really mean stuck, there are no buttons on the screen, no possibility to slide down the task bar or go to home screen because this is happening as part of the initial setup steps. Volume and power buttons work so I can turn it off and turn it on again after which it enters the initial setup and the same thing happenes again as there is no option to skip this step or skip set up as a whole.
There are quite a few google results for
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
But they all involve interacting with options and settings which I can not do. How can I boot the phone without it launching the initial setup process?
Phone is E2363, the 16G dual sim version. Thanks if you can help
Did you restore via PC Companion?

Good idea! That allowed me to get past the initial set up and into the system. Now every time I try to add my google account I get
"Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server"
So far I have
Tride through different apps
Confirmed the clock is correct
Disabled 2FA on google account
Enabled Backup my data and automatic restore
Reset app preferences
Any other suggestions? The other option google finds is to root the phone and modify the host file as per http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kRmW2hO-4tk
I would rather not but if that is the only fix the question is how to root this device?
I would create another gmail account. And check internet connection (wi-fi or 4G).

Try tapping all four corners of your screen, in a clockwise motion (start top left and move to the right) make sure you hit the corner of your screen. it should skip setup, then go to app in settings and clear the data of all your google apps (playstore and google services ect) should work afterwards.

I am past set up and into the system (is it possible to edit thread title?) (the way to skip the add google account in setup was to not have any internet connection) but in the system the problem happens when trying to add a google account.
I have deleted all app data or cleared cache (whichever was available) for all apps starting with the word google including those you mentioned. No change to the problem every time I try to add my google account I get
screen 1
Checking info...
screen2
Couldn't sign in
Can’t establish a reliable connection to the server
This was fixed when I tried with a different internet connection/ISP. Its not that I was not online before but that my ISP has dumb protocols that were stopping this from working. Thanks for your responses.
Hello Bitedge,
And now google play store and other google services do connect via your own internet connection too?
I'm facing the same problem you described, just out of the box my xperia m4 aqua will connect to google on every connection except my home wifi.
Hello!
I have a Google Pixel XL running the latest version of Android Pie. Whenever I need to login to wifi and I click on the button, the web browser does not pull up. I believe that I disabled the internal service when it was freezing earlier and now can't figure out how to restart it.
Normally logging into the default gateway through the browser works, but not always. Is there a way to restart the internal service without resetting my phone?
I have used my phone to connect to Free Wifi in fast food shop, which requires me to click a button for Terms and Conditions.
In the past, the login page or notification will pop up automatically.
However, in recent days, even if the Wifi is connected automatically, neither login page nor notification pops up.
I try to connect that page through Chrome, by searching random words or type http://1.1.1.1
It did succeed once, unfortunately it doesn't work later.
Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
