i think it does this with other roms as well even stock...it worked once for me that was it on carbon..think it was some notification or pulse notification light or unread email something that kept activating the screen...there is xposed module called disable dock rotate something like that (last link here but the first one is the framework you need first to download)

Do you know any way to do this?
It interrupts the music so I have to toggle the sound profile every time I'll start listening to music or watching a video (about 3 times a day). I'm looking for a way to automate it.
i just goto my quick settings bar and click the silent mode button. music continues to play but phone wont ring. just vibrate.
I'm specifically looking into a way to make that *automatic*!
And this toggle isn't available in my EVO 3D, I think Gingerbread had it but stock ICS update removes a lot of these toggles that used to be in quick settings. I'm even experimenting a notification bar toggles app from the market..
You could use tasker to set this up.

I was thinking this too. When headphones plug in, switch to silent, turn down media volume, etc.

Hi all,
Bit of a question here.
I've just upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to the Xperia Z2 and overall I'm loving it so far. It's just such a huge difference. Only thing I'm missing is a screen protector (As soon as I removed the peel from the one included in the box it just seemed to suck dust from the air and became impossible to put on without dust and bubbles being under it ) but overall it's a great experience.
The only issue I have is that, compared to my S3, and compared to the volume that games/videos can reach, my ringtone and alarms seem to be very low volume, even when the volume is turned up to maximum.
Is this something others have noticed?
I've tried several alarm apps, the stock one, Alarm Clock Plus and Alarm Clock Xtreme Free but all of them put the alarm at the same level which just isn't as high as I could get from the S3.
Does anyone know of a way to boost this? The alarm in particular is what concerns me the most, since I use my phone as an alarm clock to get up in the mornings for work. At the moment I'm a tad paranoid so keeping my sim-less S3 as a backup alarm to go off 5 minutes later

Not possible unless Sony updates their firmware.
Needs root to change the gain levels.
me to I've just upgraded from a LG G2 to Z2 and i have same issue the notification/ringtone very low
Hm. Well, for me, my alarm wakes me up just fine. I'm not exactly a light-sleeper, but definitely not a heavy one either.
As for text messages... I do occasionally not hear it.
Darn. Hopefully it's something Sony address in future updates.
I'm looking to avoid rooting at the moment given that I bought the phone Sim-free so am rather paranoid about bricking it.
Same thing for me.. Tried to play some music first then turn on the alarm and it's such a difference! I too use my phone as an alarm and I really can't be late for work anymore Tried several alarm apps as well but no luck.. Hope they fix it soon

Will check this option and share my experience
Thanks anyhow
Any confirmation?
I thought it was the volume security policy used by Sony like on their MP3 Walkman.
Anyone tried with Viper4android?

Thanks, tried it and its noticeably louder when receiving a sms
I haven't tried it yet, but this thread mentions another setting that might boost the volume of the internal speaker.
Will be testing it later today when I get home from work. Don't want to be testing my alarm in the middle of the office XD

Enable xloud as well
low ringtone for alarm
Hi,
In the sound selection menu for the alarm I have the possibility to replay a new possible tone. This is much louder than the alarm and it is much louder when the tone that is emitted when I pull the volume slider for the alarm to the right and keep pressed, which is too quiet for me. Currently, I find no way to set a reasonable volume. Currently, the vibrator is almost louder.
What have I done so far? I tried diffent sounds and mp3s. I have turned off all sound effects. No increase the ringer volume, no EQ, no Sourroundsound, no Clearaudio +, no normalization. The adjustable volume, is whe I use the side-mounted switches -> to maximum. Also the menu Sound settings volume - every sound slider is at max. However, the max volume is also different than the volume that is output when I replay this file in the menu where I can choose the alarm tone. The replayed sound is much louder and enough for me.
Please not a new ROM, I do not want to tinker.
Thanks for your help
Greetings
P.
This sound issue is already fixed on the new FW (.314).

No, the newest software .314 doesn't fix the problem. Without xloud and normalization(this helps the most I think) turned on I could barely hear notifications. Now they are the same level as when I play them from notification picker. Which all is kind of weird to be honest. Ringtone is normal when somebody rings me. But level of notifications when SMS comes or whatever is 2 times quieter than when playing sound from notification picker in settings menu.

There's a mod in Themes and app section where you can get both speakers working for notification as stock Sony ROM only use bottom speaker for notifications. This might help a bit
One thing I've noticed with xLoud is that if I put the phone into vibrate/silent mode, then the xLoud setting no longer takes effect when I put the volume back up again. Even if I disable and re-enable the xLoud checkbox, I'm back to the volume I got without xLoud. The only way to get it working is to power off the phone and then power it back on again.

Yea I used the mod before but that doesn't change anything :/ Sony messed up firmware.
xperia Z3
I solved the problem. I downloaded the app Ringtone Maker, opened it in the desired mp3. Click on the Fade and volume and set to 4-5. Save as like new notification and add to the desired application. Done.
Hi guys,
I just switched from my Nexus 5 to S6 Edge. I noticed one VERY annoying thing: if I'm not on silent or vibrate mode while listening to music (I use PowerAmp) through headphone, both music and notification sound will be redirected to loudspeaker every time a notification comes. Everybody around me can hear the music I'm listening to + the notification and the speaker on S6 is pretty damn loud.
This gets even more annoying when I'm chatting with friends as notification sound will be played every few seconds. I had to mute notification sound. I did some research and most threads here on XDA said it's an Android bug, but I don't think so. My Nexus 5 never had this problem on 4.4, 5.0 or 5.1. Please help!
There's nothing you can do. Silence your phone.
Seriously? That would be damn annoying bug
Does anyone can confirm this? Ive experience it on my phone when it play games at 70% volume to max even headset are plugged and even its on speaker. It does not vibrate when its below 50% volume

I'm experiencing it when I'm watching a video on facebook and the volume is set to Max. I look into the menu settings there is no option to turn it off is that a bug?
Yes, it vibrates while watching videos in high volume. I returned it...
They have issued a patch. I think it's part of the 4d sound thingy from Honor Play lol
When you play music, slide the notification panel. There is an app notification which drains the battery with icon like vibration. Slide that to the left or right and setting will appear. You can disable it there. Now I don't know how to enable it again.
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
Download the latest patch via software update. It fixed my issue.
How to enable it back? i want to watch movie with vibrates
How to enable back the vibrate effect while watching movie on the honor 8x
Hey guys. I've been getting annoyed by the audio lowering itself when watching videos. Happens on any player, but especially on Youtube. Like I have the volume on about 60%, sounds great, and then it just cuts down the volume to let's say 40% while it is still set to 60%. Has anyone ever experienced this? It's extremely annoying and it happens after about a minute of watching a video.
Thank you!

I have the same on YouTube, just pause the vid for a few seconds and the volume returns..... it's a nasty bugggggg
Wait what ...! That's a bug i was tooling my self al this TIME ..i always notice that sound sometimes feels too low at max vol ...i though its surrounding noise marking sound less audible ..huhh i also blame doob settings ...lol
Awful bug with 9.1, on mine mate 20 x it's the same issue.
I reported this to Huawei months ago.
Experiencing the same(?) issue:
When my volume is set quite low and I play a video or even just music on the stock music player app, it plays normal for about 10 seconds and then the audio gradually (during about 2 seconds) lowers to less than half the original set volume and then it stays low like that.
The volume slider itself stays the same.
Like demon2112 suggested, pausing the playback for a short moment (at least 3 seconds) indeed fixes the issue but then again 10 seconds later the issue comes back.
I don't think the issue happens when the volume is set higher; only on low volumes levels.
Also, I'm pretty sure it is only the bottom speaker which lowers in volume.
If I listen only to the earpiece (by blocking the bottom speaker), it does not appear to change.
Is this the same for you guys?
Issue still happens on 9.1.0.323

Nope.
On Android 9.0 it worked perfectly
I face this bug also. It is very annoying. It's like the sound "moves" to the earspeaker. I am on .180
I have the same problem. 9.1.0.358. Maybe there is some system settings we could tinker with?

I tried everything in sound settings and settings related to sound or multimeedia in dev options. Tried both on android 9 and 10. None of that worked. I saw somewhere that it can be resolved by turning off stereo+ option but there is no option like that on this phone. When I was using beta of android 10 I reported this issue several times and as we can see with no positive resultat.
Fix for me

Where can I find sound+ option?
Any solution for this. Been having this issue since I upgraded the software.
I have EMIUI 10.1 on my Mate 20 pro and still no fix.
So EMUI 10.1 isn't a real update. Some cosmetic changes, thats all.
