Trying to upgrade to 4.3 with root - Xperia Tablet Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a US SGP312 and am using this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48904390
I've installed the dual recovery on 4.1.2 and have root. Now I need to get the stripped FTF and flashable zip but cannot find it anywhere.
I did find a full FTF here: http://d-h.st/users/lcammilletti/?fld_id=24128&s=file_name&d=ASC
Anyone have links to a stripped FTF + flahsable zip of 4.3 for the US SGP312?
The MEGA link for the SGP312 GB Generic 4.3 linked in the guide does not work for me, I keep getting download errors.
Edit: I saw the guide to making the files myself (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=42135099&postcount=1) but the VM image says it;ll take 2 days to download. Guess I'll just try downloading the GB Generic files from MEGA later.
Edit 02: Found links to the files in other forums.
Unbranded UK: FTF ZIP
Spain

Get to 4.2.2 root it and stay there! Way too many issues with 4.3 and besides 4.4 is rumoured to be released next month.

You can make your own stripped ftf just flashes ONLY baseband and kernel

Yes I'm using older version. It fails to flash any system.sin when flashing FTF, and when flashing kernels it says the device must be rooted first. was on cm13 and when I wanted to revert back and flash older Android version it fooked up. I have other 3 or 4 xplays and they reverted back from cm13 custom partition just fine..
second on reup request if possible
Sorry for the late response, i never deleted it from my Mega account and i was not aware the links where broken.
I moved on from this phone long ago so i don't check the forum very often, but the file is now available once more for those with bricks.
Thanks, i think this can be very helpful
Thanks for this. Needed to do a reflash to stock as something had become corrupted with mine and wouldnt load any apps. Havent used flashtool for years and was surprised that I managed to flash with windows 10 64 bits too which I wasnt expecting.

I do not have a copy of the Tmobile FTF, however since your device is a r800i ReFlash should work for you and changes it to a non branded Xperia Play.

AOSP vs STOCK

What's pros and cons of AOSP and STOCK sony rom?
AOSP: (Can it be rooted by the way?
http://developer.sonymobile.com/201...ject-aosp-4-3-now-running-on-xperia-tablet-z/
+
-
STOCK: (What's issues of rooting 4.1.2 or 4.2.2?)
+
-
PS. Can someone please flash latest AOSP for XTZ and dump whole System folder for me? PLEASE!
Refresh!
You can build it or download of for yourself and extract the system folded yourself, you don't have to flash the ROM to extract the system file. If you want to extract it from and FTF there are guides for it on XDA and of its a simple flashable zip all you gotta do is unzip it.
As for AOSP being rooted, yes it can be rooted easily. There is already a guide in the the Xperia Tab Z Android Development (or Original Android Development) section and if you don't want to do it that way you can put preroot the ROM before you flash it (there are guides on how to do that as well).
As for the downsides of using AOSP, well you lose all the Sony exclusives like the Bravia engine and the Small Apps (and a few other miscellaneous things). I know when the story about 4.3 for the XTZ was posted there was quite a lot not working like WiFi, GPS, etc. When running AOSP you lose your DRM keys (TA partition), you have to make a backup of them (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598) before unlocking your bootloader or you will never be able to go back to 100% stock for warranty claims.
The best way to find out exactly what issues there are with the Sony AOSP build is to go to the Sony dev site and see if there is an updated post that lists all the bugs.

[Q] Which file should I flash first?

Just downloaded 4.4.2 for XZU C6802, it has 2 files:
C6802 4.4 IN 757 odex ROMflash01.zip (1.02GB)
C6802_14.3.A.0.757_Generic IN kernelonly.ftf (11.3MB)
Questions:
1. Is this a official release? why not in ftf?
2. Why there is a extra kernel there?
3. Do I need to flash both of them? which should flash first?
4. Will it automatically in rooted state after flash?
5. Any other things need to notice?
Current State:
C6802_14.2.A.1.136, Rooted, Unlocked, CMW and TWRP both installed.
THANKS!
You've apparently downloaded a CMW file of the latest update. Why is there a stock kernel in the package? I don't know, but it doesn't hurt to have it. Just flash the ROM, and not the kernel. I assume the ROM has a kernel with CMW/TWRP, but we can't be sure until you try.
Is this the DL that came off a .cn forum?

Thanks.I found a explain and managed.
List for others:
1.Flash .zip (don't reboot after finished)
2.If want to keep recovery and root, flash FIX_Z1(ZU)-lockeddualrecovery2.7.115-BETA.flashable.zip (http://pan.baidu.com/s/1kTDiMiz).
3. switch off, enter flashing mode.
4. flash that ftf kernel.

4.4.4 FTF file for Z2 tablet 521

Anybody still have a 4.4.4 FTF file for the 521 model? All links are dead on here.
I updated using a new FTF file, but would like to downgrade again so I can install custom recovery again and flash a pre-rooted OS.
Thanks
