[Help] Touchscreen lags when charging - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey there,
I've had this Galaxy S2 for 1 and an half year, and I've this problem since I bought it.
When I put my phone on charging, the touchscreen to lag and to become less responsive. I use an original charger, and I'm pretty sure it's a phone problem because with my previous Galaxy S2 the touchscreen worked fine.
Can anyone help me?

The easiest way to track these kind of issues is by looking at an actively generated log to see what happens when you plug the charger.

adapter issue change it.i had faced it b4

I've had this issue with one charger. Charge the phone from your PC, if the screen acts normally - you have to replace the charger.

Well, I tried another charger (not original) and the touchscreen works better, but still not as on discharging.

Random shut downs

My phone behaves very weird, initially I thought it's an issue of kernel or Rom, but after trying different ones I can't believe anymore. The randomly shut downs happens several times a day, it does not happen though when charging (never). By now I'm on jb leak and still have the issue. When it shuts down, the sreen dims a bit and then it's gone, the weird thing is that often I have to pull the battery or charge the phone before reboot is possible, the battery shows different values after rebooting, sometimes close to what was before (especially when rebooting on charger), and sometimes way off the values before. I came initially from slimrom with siyah or dorimanx kernel, I really hoped jb leak would help (also tried different kernels), but it didn't. It also seems to me that it happens more often with the sd card (32gb) and without the phone seems more stable, but still it happens from time to time. Once the screen dim (only one or two steps) and shut down even happend when in CWM recovery, is it maybe hardware related? It's very hard to find the source of the problem, anybody else experience similar issues? By the way the shutdown I have is not a proper shut down, the phone doesn't show the message "is shutting down".
Calibrating the battery didn't help either...I'm very happy for any hint, as I really don't know what to do anymore. It's it possible to log somehow what happens before lone of these shut downs?
My phone does this all the time .. no reason for it either that I can see. Have also tried a combination of stock and custom roms but it still happens.
I was hoping somebody could tell me if there is an app I could use that monitors what the phone is doing exactly before it shuts itself off ..
My issue is exactly the same as op's, my last resort is a new battery but can't do that for a few days :-\

In most cases new battery fix it.
Same Problem.
I have the exact same problem. I am arranging for a new battery to test this out. I have also noticed that a battery pull sometimes let me boot. But the phone almost always does dead towards the end of boot animation.
Please let me know if you guys worked out the solution.
I've not yet bought a new battery, cash flow problem.. But I have noticed that my current one has a slight bulge, enough to be able to spin the battery round on a flat surface. Be about a week before I can get a new one

Charge it via usb for about 3-4 hours and see what happens.
Battery Bulge
SO even i couldn't get my hands on a spare battery to test But after reading your posts, i checked mine and realised that it is also slightly bulged(based on the fact that it rotates on a flat surface). I did some research and found out the culprit. Its overcharging!! and also moisture!! as in my case.... here is why-
1. The cathode liberates lithium and which forms a metal oxide composed of another metal (commonly Cobalt - forming lithium cobalt oxide). When overcharging, lithium builds up faster than it can react and deposits on the anode. Cobalt oxide is thus formed and has a chemical structure radically different from the original lithium cobalt oxide. This weakens the structure and causes battery bloat.
2. Moisture reacts with the electrolyte salts (Lithium hexafluorophosphate) to form hydrochloric acid. It reacts with the cathode and anode sheets within the battery and causes gas build-up. This can cause the batteries to bloat
Also heat leads to gaseous expansion causing it to bloat.
I will be trying out one of my friends battery to check if the problem is resolved. I will keep you posted.
hey friends,
i had the exact same problem and getting a new battery really helped me out.
i bought the 2000mah samsung battery, everything is fine now, no random shutdowns at all now.
i hope thisnow helps you aswell.
Exactly the same problem here, below 15% its shutdown with no warning, this is also an overheat problem. My S2 is almost new, just 2 monts, what should i do? Claim a new battery at warranty?

[Q] Does this device have two mics?

Everything worked fine two days ago. Now, when I call with someone, I hear them fine, but they don't hear me at all. HOWEVER, if I put call to speaker mode, they suddenly hear me OK. Apps using microphone also work, I can record myself and it playbacks fine. I flashed new ROM trying to solve this issue, but it did not help. Only sense this makes is if this device have two different mics, but I can't find this information. Any ideas?
Yep. The main one on the bottom, the other on the top for noise suppression. Your theory makes sense because in speaker mode only the top one is used.

Battery Charger

Heya,
my Honor 7 is about 3 weeks old now, but my charger went up in smoke after about 2 weeks of usage.
It smelled horribly and there was literally smoke coming out of the charger itself. Luckily I was right next to it, when it happened and the phone didn't take any damage.
I was hoping to get a new charger from Huawei and so I wrote a mail to customer service. After 1 week they answered me, that I have to send in the charger PLUS phone, which will be factory resetted.
This is a no-go for me, since I sold my old phone and wouldn't be reachable for god knows how long.
Did anybody else experience problems with their chargers? (The model was HW-050200E01, white, with 2 Ampére)
Since that day I am afraid to use quick-charge again. For now I'm using a noname product from amazon.
The reason they want to have a look at both charger AND phone clearly is that it might just be something wrong with the phone too. If you are unable to send back the phone, at least disable fast chargeing in the settings. I have that exact charger and have had no problems, but I would never use fast charge with any phone for just this reason!

Yeah, my exact same thought. I don't use fast-charging any more.
Hopefully it doesn't kill my other chargers :-/
Be careful out there, people!
btw: phone is rooted (even though I doubt that it's related to root)

I don't think so either, but higher current (as with fast charging) puts more strain on the charger so better to slow charge.
Skickat från min PLK-L01 via Tapatalk
To be fair, phones and chargers of all types have gone up in smoke plenty of times before fast charging existed so the odds of it being some inherent problem with fast charging nobody has noticed yet is unlikely.
Like with all things, sometimes stuff breaks. It sucks, but it's unavoidable.

Anyone experiencing touch screen issues while charging?

Touch screen does not work properly while charging, no matter what charger or usb port from laptop I use.
It seems to be "over" reponsive, not really possible to scroll and use it because screen takes every touch like a touch "to open" an app or something.
Really annoying.
I am on MIUI V7.1.3.0LHPCNCK, but problem was there on other rom as well.
For me too

Me too, can anyone fix this?
I don't have this issue. Checked on PC, Xiaomi powerstrip and original charger - screen seems to work as intended.
Some people on the webs said that replacing power souce helped.
As you can read in first post I used different power sources, and low power charging USB....
Same issue in my case, the phone is kind of unusable while charging! Hope it will be fixed in the next MIUI updates

Im having this issue also, but doesnt bother much now coz i only charge when i was a sleep. The battery gives me juice all day long. Good to know it has been fix in 7.2.4 at the moment im still stick with tampered rom that came with the divice but im waiting the Global Rom #will this be real
use other wall charger
iam notice when i use asus zenfone 6 charger this issue can be fixed. so i think use lower amp will fix this. but charge time will slower than original charger
Had this issue on 7.1.1. Now, on latest developer build, all works fine, and on stable 7.2.+ I heard this bug is fixed too.
Yeah when on 7.1.x, for me it's the opposite, while charging screen becomes less sensitive and I have to push harder for it to register. It's mostly fixed in 7.2.4, runnng ok in 7.2.6 now.

The first rule is you don't talk about when pointing a problem is always use default setting, so you should. There are two version of digitizer for this phone, most likely yours is the same as mine, the other one I think is sold only to European market. And always use original wall charger.

Phone Battery drains even when completely off

Hello. I have replacemented my phone's screen. Because the original screen cracked and phone got become too hot as if it'd be exploited. But after replacement the screen the battery drains even the phone is completely off.. The draining is like %30-40.. Do you have any advice for this?
I've bought a new battery but the phone service doesn't change it.. They say there is risk the screen may be cracked while pulling it off... :/

this is true. i broke mine by pulling it off, even though i used a heatgun. next time this wont happen again.
what kind of phone service company can't pull a display safely?
i would expect that a professionel service-technician has no problem pulling a screen off without breaking it.

Well they simply said there is risk. Because in Turkey there isn't this model officially and if it cracks it's hard to bring a new screen from China..
the screen is cheap and availabe on aliexpress. can be long delivery times from china of course. ordered mine 2 weeks ago for about 20€. I'm sceptical about the quality, will report when it arrived.
