Hello,
I had updated my C6802 to 14.2.A.1.136 someday through my Xperia Update Centre(in-built mobile app). But I wanted my mobile rooted. I found this thread(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2630781) which explained how I can root my mobile. I passed up to fifth step under "Coming from stock 14.2.A.1.136 or 14.2.A.0.290 with locked BL" part. But as soon as I realised the links of sixth step are dead I rued myself because of what I did.
Now I have rooted mobile but, first, in it's "About phone" under "Model number" C6833 is written while it's not my actual phone model, second, the mobile is not able to update and remained stuck at 14.1.B.1.532, third, it's not able to repair through Sony PC Companion, fourth, I can't go back to version I want with "Factory data reset".
1. I want my mobile back to what I bought in terms of it's software. I live in Iran if it matters for the firmware or other things.(Official software would be more favourable!), Is it possible?
2. Is it possible to convert these to FTF files?
3. If I could succeed going back to my default factory mobile software, is it possible to first root device and then update to 14.2.A.1.136?
I should thank you in advance, I do thank!
restore the TA backup if you made one this will relock your bootloader and get you the DRM keys back then download the ftf file for your device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921 then use flashtool to flash the stock rom you want !
---------- Post added at 12:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:34 AM ----------
if you want to root 136 then you should stay with the unlocked bootloader so skip the restoring TA backup part ! after flashing the ftf you can use this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2631866 its short and easy

All's not lost
"in it's "About phone" under "Model number" C6833"
Don' worry when you flash the correct firmware it will go back to c6802
" the mobile is not able to update and remained stuck at 14.1.B.1.532"
"it's not able to repair through Sony PC Companion"
"version I want with 'Factory data reset'."
All the same issue:
Once rooted we normally have to flash manually as Sony's software won't update modified firmware.
1: not going to happen unless you un-root etc, but you want a rooted phone yes?
2: No.
3: You are already rooted, and it depends if you have unlocked the BL (or if you want to) on the next steps.
And I have updated the links in the guide to point at the DIR not the file si will work even if [NUT] updates the file again

Hey mates,
Thanks again for quick useful replies.
I had decided not to have a rooted mobile, the third question was only for my information.
But there are some other questions:
1. If I flash an official ftf and don't root/unblock bootloader, will I be able to update my android through Xperia Update Centre?
2. Is it okay to restore TA which I backed up when I was using a rooted/older Android version? What exactly does the TA Backup do?
blueether, thanks for your answers and Guide Thread.
gcg000, thanks for your answer.
Restoring your TA Backup should be fine provided you do it through Flashtool, then if you wipe cache and dalvik then flash a stock ROM all should be well. If you restore back to stock as in Bootloader Locked and NO root then your phone will update through Update Centre and PC Companion as normal. Follow the instructions carefully when restoring your phone too!
Good luck and happy flashing!

Hi guys im following this guide;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569904
Im planning to install Paranoid Android on there.
Everything went well including,
1. Downgrading from .290 to .532
2. Rooting the phone.
3. Backing up TA Partition.
I encountered a problem when it came to unlocking the bootloader. I typed in *#06# to find out my imei and was greeted with a line of zero's?
All the threads I can find say that updating to the latest version which for me is .290 again will recover my imei but although I can download the firmware on the phone via wifi it fails to install every time i try.
My baseband is still showing up on the phone its just the imei which has gone.
I cant download any files on the ftf deposit section either as all the links i need for the eu are missing?
Any help would be much appreciated Thanks.
Flash 290 using Flashtool. You'll have your IMEI back, and then unlock the bootloader.

have you rooted / backed up the TA yet?
Don't worry about the imei for now, get the two above steps done the flash a .290 or .136 ftf from flashtool to get on the latest firmware, then flash recovery, then the PA Rom.
You dont have to use a CE/EU ftf just any of the generic ones will do US or asia.

Hello.
I know that i am a newbee, but that's it.
So my device story is:
I upgraded it to Last 4.4.2.
I decided that i want to root it.
I search here a way to root it.
I read a lot of threads about it
I doungraded it to 523(somethink like that).
I rooted it with vroot.
I backed up my TA partition with a special program.
I unlocked bootloader.
I upgraded it to Last firmware(757)
I flashed a kernel with 2 recovery
I installed SU with from recovery(i precopied su.rar on sd card).
It's done.
Now my questions are:
1) if my Phone wasn't root, The program for TA shoud show me an error , or it look like it worked? On my device showed exactly like in hamdogg tutorial.
2) how can i check if my bootloader is locked or unlocked?
3) after i instal a costum rom, how can i come back to stock rom? Stock rom is in The hamdogg ftf file?
4) if rom isn't in The ftf file, where can i found it?
My device is c6833 and i started root actions ptwo weeks ago.
Ps: after i rooted with vroot, in my device i don't find a shield( app icon) like in hamdogg tutorial, but i find another one or two apps(i don't remind). Maybe it hapens because i used a New version of vroot and it has another icon.
Thanck you.

1/ not quite sure what you are asking here
2/ dial *#*#7378423#*#* and look in the service menu for the bootloader status
3/ Just flash a full FTF normally in the FTF thread in the dev section
vroot is evil - you should have read a little more and used either bin4ry's or [NUT]'s tools. but what's done is done.

And one more question:
When i flash a stock ftf file i lose the root?

Android 4.4.2 .757 IN
C6802
I have the boot loader unlocked and on DoomKernel v20.
I want to go back to stock Kernel and only have it rooted.
Also have TA backup.
Best way to proceed would be helpful as per the relock thread I need to update kernel.sin first from stock rom.
"before u relock bootloader u have to be on pure stock kernel (flash only the kernel.sin using flashtool), else the device WILL NOT BOOT after relock"
1) When I try this option in flashtool, there are 3 files which are being installed. Kernel.sin, rmp.sin and loader.sin. How do I exclude rpm.sin and loader.sin?
2) Once I relock, do i flash the stock rom using flashtool and than restore TA using backupTA or is there another process.
I searched but could not find an appropriate thread with the steps.
Regards
Charles

I would doe it this way
Download the latest india FTF (the one you have?)
Restore TA (this will leave the ZU un-bootable)
Start Flashtool
Select Flashmode
Select the FTF
Uncheck the Wipe DATA (leave checked if you want to have a clean install)
Select only kernel.sin if you want to keep your stuff on the ZU (Don't worry about the other images that will also get prepared, they will only get flashed if they need updating)
Select everything if you want a clean install
Start the flash
Restart ZU in Flashmode
Thanks Blueether, this was pretty simple
Cheers

What about me? I don't have a backed up TA partition. How do the steps go for me?
Same for me here, I didn't back up TA partition but i want to re-lock Bootloader. Is it possible or i am doomed now?? I need to send my device to a Sony Service Center, for replacement and i need to revert to full factory condition otherwise my warranty is void.
I thought that unlocking bootloader doesn't void warranty since it is officially provided by Sony and they don't mention anywhere during the procedure that you loose your warranty but their service representatives have a different opinion.

Voiding the warranty
If you unlock the boot loader, you may void the warranty of your device and/or any warranty from your operator. See your device’s warranty statement for details. Additionally, due to the modified device software, Sony’s repair network will likely have to replace key components before it can properly test, repair and verify your device using our repair tools and software. Consequently, if Sony performs a warranty repair, Sony will likely charge you a significant service fee for the additional costs caused by your modification of the software.

Mate, that is the Bootloader unlock option which I had used to unlock the bootloader initially, I'm not sure it will lock the bootloader mate.
I have another offtopic question for you mate, can you how the memory configuration of a device? I am asking this because, I restored my rom+apps from a nandroid backup which had all my apps and games, and approximately about 5 GB. Naturally, after the restoration, I saw that the internal sd card memory had reduced in size by about ~4-5GB. But the issue is that when I checked the folders from the internal SD card, it says that all folders are only a few mb in size. Where are the files getting restored to and which part of memory is it getting restored to. How much is the phone memory and how much in size is the internal storage[internal sd card]. Where are my apps going? I know their location in root, but I would like to know how where they are mapped from.

It should lock it as well when in an unlocked state - I have done this many times when testing root methods pre towelroot

Is there a way to restore DRM keys from TA backup or any other method after unlocking the BL?
Go here This tool will back up as well as restore
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598
So today I managed to root my Z2
Following advice from o0 Matt 0o in another thread, I downgraded from 4.4.4 to 4.42 using flashtool, then using the rootkitXperia_20140719 install.bat the phone is now rooted (for some reason it would not find adb even though running adb from a cmd prompt worked!)
Anyway, now I am on 4.4.2 with root, if I upgrade back to stock 4.4.4 rom will I lose the root?
EDIT: I have installed dual recovery, is there a pre packaged rooted rom for:
Android 4.4.4
23.0.1.A.0.167
United Kingdom - 3 - 1281-2574

Dont really want to create a rooted package myself, the steps can be confusing
Thanks!
Since you have dual recovery on 4.4.2 you can use the pre-rooted package by niaboc79 (can be found in the Android Development section) or any pre-rooted stock based ROM based on 4.4.4. It is all down to your preference.
I doubt there will be a 3 branded pre-rooted package either.
Actually you're right I should just get one of those roms which is not branded which would look better anyway
One last thing what is the steps to backup ta partition? At some point I will unlock bootloader but don't want to lose the dry keys
Cheers

In the Sony cross device development section there is the backup TA tool, simply use that. Also, make sure to upload your backup to a cloud service or something like that, in case your hard drive goes kaput and you need it to relock your bootloader.
Please remember that unlocking the bootloader wipes the internal SD card (not the user one). Also, restoring the TA backup relocks the bootloader so make sure you are on a stock ROM and kernel when you restore the backup.

Hello friends
I need to find important information about the Xperia Z2 D6502!
D6502 not support LTE! But other models are support.
1--Does LTE support software or hardware?
2--D6503 ROMS (23.0.1.A.3.9,France - Orange - etc. OR 23.0.1.A.0.167,Canada/USA,France,Germany etc. ) upload to D6502??? Is this happens?
3--And does LTE work?
OR
LTE support is not work. Let's say D6503 is working ROMs on D6502.
4--An advantage or good changes on d6502???If everything would be the same?
LAST
5--When installing this ROM on FlashTool,Is there a possibility of deleting IMEI?
6--And OTA update income ?
7--Can we, when we want to install the original version d6502 (To avoid problems with warranty service)
Very Thanks. English'm less. gtranslate
backup your original rom and after that try to flash d6503 roms to your d6502. I think the rom should work but 4g will not work. and this can't change the imei. I think that the only difference is the 4g. I have a d6503 so I can't try it but good luck

For rooting you need to downgrade to 4.4.2 and than root using toolkit, than you can backup your TA partition just in case you want to unlock your bootloader later and lose your DRM keys. D6503 ROM can be flash in D6502 but the network functions like calling and texting wont work, you need to flash D6502 modem for that, most of the ROMs will already have that as a separate flashable ZIP, search in the respective ROM thread. After flashing the ROM you might get update notification but you wont be able to install them as many of the system files will be modified so for getting official update you will need to flash back stock FTF with flashtool which will remove all your data, and if you had unlocked you bootloader you will have restore you DRM keys also after flashing stock ftf. for backing up data without root try helium app. works for me.

Depends on what ROM you want to flash, there are different ones available in the forum, some AOSP or CM based which will require unlocked BL, or stock bases, like existenz or Moonwalker which are stock based and dont require unlocked BL. but i would suggest you hold on for now as there are some news about Lollipop being release in next few weeks and you will need to flash stock ROM again for updating to Lollipop. or you can later wait for someone to make a lollipop ROM later and get done with the rooting process now itself. also to download ftfs i would suggest use xperifirm and create the ftf using flashtool, you might not find your specific regions ftf through flashtool, but i'm not entirely sure about that, you can try either.
Also please press thanks button if i helped

first backup your data (you know how to do it?) and then backup your rom with this method:
3. how to backup your original firmware customization
a) if you do not want to lose warranty of your phone, first thing you have to do is to backup your original customization
b) download Sony PC Companion and connect your phone
c) select update your phone in Sony PC Companion
d) application will prompt you to disconnect your phone before starting downloading firmware, just make it (remember - dont disconnect your phone when update just start...)
e) after finish downloading firmware cancel the update
F) after that, go to C:\ProgramData\Sony Mobile\Update Engine\db\some number\blob_fs, there you find 3 (maybe 4) files, which names start FILE
g) download and install latest Flashtool
h) paste the three files, which names start FILE, from blob_fs folder to folder „Firmware“ included in the XPERIA Flashtool
i) open the Flashtool, click on Tools, then click on Bundles, choose decrypt files and put all three files from blob_fs folder to the right columm
j) click ok and after approx. one minute a pop up Window will appear via Flashtool
k) mark all files except simlock.ta and transfer them to the right column, than fill in a box in the right upper corner (fill in what you want, it is just for you)
l) now click ok and Flashtool will create backup of your original firmware customization, that you can anytime flash to your phone
(I copied this from a website)
