Problem with Samsung Galaxy S2 Cellular Data - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a issue where when I'm using Cellular data, it will just cut off responding for like 15 seconds and switch back to 3g then H even sometimes where the App itself is requesting data. Any reasons why it would do this? I've done flashing modems and changing the network modes but it doesn't help at all.
Specs:
Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 on Cyanfox 2.0.2 Nightly 4.4.2 Kitkat.
Kernel Dorimanx 10.43 V92 Compuntio
Running Optus network if you wanted to know (In Australia)
Sometimes even the cellular data connection would cut off completely and would require waiting for like 30 seconds or turning the cellular data off and on to fix it.

[Q] MODE/Radio issues - No data/No internet connection SamsungGS2

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.0.3 XXLPQ.
It's rooted and now has CM9 installed.
Unfortunately for some bizarre reason I have no internet connection.
I've installed a different modem and it hasn't fixed the issue.
APN settings are correct (I've spoken to my network).
Sometimes it works absolutely fine then after a few moments it just won't load anything and I get a 'No internet connection' warning.
Apps won't work either due to no connection.
However I do have a 'H' and sometimes '3G' next to the signal bars.
WiFi is working fine.
Have full signal..
Running out of ideas/options.
I've started from scratch and wiped everything several times and re-flashed xxLPQ but still nothing.
Help!

[Q] S3 data connection unstable?

Hi, got my Galaxy S3 last week and promptly rooted and installed Omega 5.2 custom ROM.
This morning I noticed the data connection is continually cycling through 3G, H and H+ whilst tethered to my laptop, connection speed is up and down in line.
Is there a way to force the phone to H+? I have tried the various options in the testing menu but can only force 3G.
Thanks
Phil

[Q] My phone drops tether connection because constantly switches 3G/HSPA/HSPA+

Hello
I have this issue with my Sansung Galaxy S3 I bought from my carrier one week ago.
My data plan is enabled to tether, I didn't have any issue with my Atrix 4G, connection was completely reliable on it, but i do have issues with my Galaxy S3.
It starts the wifi hotspot, my computer is able to connect, but after a few minutes, and sometimes just a few seconds, computer can't navigate, and the only possible way to solve it is by disconnecting and reconnecting from the wifi hotspot.
I have tried also with other laptops and is the same.
Now, I noticed it always happens when cell phone switches from H+ to 3G. It looses connectivity while in 3G, and it get connectivity when it gets back to H+ (but the laptop keeps without navigation although Wifi keeps connected to hotspot).
I have searched and couldn't find any answer here. Is there a way to force it to keep H+ or H connection? not 3G? (because the issue happens every time it goes to 3G). I think it is something related with the power saving features of the phone but I have no idea how to tweak it.

My device is rooted.
I am in HSPA+ coverage area.
It either drops back because the network has fast dormancy issues (you can try to disable fast dormancy through the corresponding app which requires root)
or because the network is instable.
In the second case you can't do anything at all except try another modem which might be less prone to the network stability issues.
Have you tried USB- or bluetooth tethering? If yes; is it unstable too?
I just disabled fast dormancy using FastDormancyToggle for i9300... I am going to be checking and if it keeps dropping I will try tether over USB and over bluetooth. I will keep you informed.
Thank you
Run ping from a terminal emulator and you will be able to see the dropouts

Since I disabled Fast Dormancy it has been working much better.
It switches from H+ to 3G from time to time but it doesn't disconnect when doing that.
Thanks a lot for your help. I guess it is fine to close this thread.
It WAS working better... now it is not... It is working almost the same, a little better, but keeps dropping, although Fast dormancy is still disabled.
So, I installed Foxfi, and seems it improves a lot, so it is a better Wifi tether option than the one that comes with SGS3

[Q] Phone looses data connection when on a call

I'm having this issue almost all the time.
After some minutes on a call (after 5 or more minutes) the phone looses data connection (either HSPDA or 3G or GSM).
As soon as I hung up the data connection restores again.
It doesn't matter if using Bluetooth or speaker.
Mostly it happens while I am driving and I have GPS turned on as well...
It did this since day 1. Have tested ALL modems so far and all ROMs (custom or stock). Nothing would fix it.
It's not that it switched from 3G to 2G, it is just loosing any kind of data connection/connectivity.
Is this an operator issue? Vodafone Romania
Any idea?
Thanks.
Hi
The same "problem" here Every time I have a call, the data connection is lost. As soon as I hang up, the data connectin restores again.
I had this issue also with other phones. Maybe it is a operator issue. To safe bandwide??
It doesn't matter if I have 2G/3G/GPS/WiFi on.

WI FI does not work on stock ROM

hi friends
i have a stock one max, it i locked and i use it with stock rom lollipop 5.0.2 international version. i have a 3G portable wireless modem and i can not connect to wireless even if i disable every wifi security ( WPA,WPA2,shared key etc.) i even cleared the password and set as public device but the result is same. it connects for 4-5 seconds and disconnects . data does not flow. from the recovery (stock recovery) i clear cache , after that it connects for 1-2 minutes and again disconnects. i have one m7 and iphone also, no problem with them with wifi device.
also i share my iphone's 3G as wifi (wifi hotspot), result is same.
