What do you mean by 'correct rom'?
if correct is another word for 'best' then sorry- no such questions allowed.
I may suggest searching in 'android developer' thread for the rom that serves your needs:

You have to decide by yourself what you need.
You have options : AOSP, AOKP, Stock.

Hello, sorry i did not explain myself properly. I am trying to find a rom that i like but as has been said & as i've found out, it's what you like & want. I am starting to wonder what other phone OS or featurs i can get into my S3 but some i get don't don't flash via zip even with CMW & CF Auto Root. I do the wipe & clear without touching the Delvik but sometimes to no luck. I am atm running i think Omega AOSP V20 which is cracking & i do like it but as i said i am wondering what else i can have

You can have whatever you like, try them all. Best rom threads are against posting rules.

[Q] Where do i find an insecure Kernel for 4.0.3

Hey everyone,
so i've rooted my phone once before, and after some time i decided it was time to install chainfire's rom due to my battery drainage.
so i went on over to chainfire's thread and read... and read.... and read... downloaded all the jizz. and eventually i got down to the odin part. it was hanging at a specific step. anyways i read... again and realised that my firmware supported a very old recovery tool that didnt work so great. so i got back down to the site and read some more, and eventually got down to installing a new firmware (still confused with firmware vs kernel... but anyway)...
i went down to sammobile. and voila got a 4.0.3 firmware nice! but then... root was gone, and like my rooted apps that installed requested it needs to be rooted first. so i was like (EFFFFFF) anyway.
so i began searching again on how to root, and yes i know i need an insecure kernel... but where on earth do i find this thing.
i noticed that on sammobile they have kernels (or is it firmware, jeez all these names )... and i noticed that some of them have hash signs (##) next to them, does that mean it's insecure? i read somewhere that the star (*) sign means incomplete (it's an update rather)...
so please, someone, anyone, please help...
all i wanna do is install chainfire's rom

thanks in advance guys...
Just download and flash via odin the cf root kernel for LPQ which is compatible with LP7 (use the latest version 5.4 referred to as proper it is a bug fix version). This will give you root and cwm.

[Q] What ICS Rom for my S2?

Hello guys,
I'm a new "rooter" and my English isn't really good. I think it's because I'm from Germany, not from the US or the UK^^. Atleast it isn't as good as I could find the answer to my question (I bet this sentence is wrong xD).
My problem is, that I want to use the Pure ICS Custom ROM from Spike. Until now, I only get Version 4.0 running on my Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 for which you need XXLP1/XXLP2. I want to run PURE ICS v7.2 oder v7.3. For v7.2 I need to get the Stock ROM of XWLP4 and for v7.3 I need to get the XWLP8 running. I tried many installation guides, but I just can't get those Stock ROMs running.
What are the requieremts to get XWLP4, XWLP7, XWLP8 (stock) running?
Thank you!
No requirements except to have a i9100 not G model and to follow the instructions .
Instructions in this post .
Stock Roms .and csc
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
LP7 and 8 posted in general section ICS firmware .
jje
I dont have the G model.
So that mean, i can flash every firmware I want? And the carrer doesn't matter?
Because i have problems installing XXLPQ, LP4 and XWLP7 etc. I always get a bootloop and theres no way to get into recovery mode. I just get the firmwares XXLP1 and XXLP2 running. the XXLP1/2 ROMs are 4 parts (PIT, PDA, PHONE, CSC) and the other i tried are only 1 part, the DPA part. is this the problem?
There is an LP7 rom which is euro wide - just means you cant use KIES to update and you lose your carriers branded material.
I loaded the LP7 onto my UK phone and it worked perfectly - just remember to wipe your data first - this could be the problem of the bootloops.
There is also the cfkernal link to get root and cwm on your phone.
Good luck in your search for the correct answer.

I have literally switched between 14-15 Roms, the one stood out for me is Resurection rom builds, great work by the Dev and it really is the best ICS experience,so go ahead flash the latest version it's stable and has the best battery flow,im using v1.4 though =D

[Q] Rooting Vodafone SII GT-I9100

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from vodafone. Here are the specs:
Android ver:4.0.3
Baseband:I9100BULP6
Kernel:3.0.15-I9100BULPC-CL332484 [email protected] #3
Build nr:IML74K.BULPC
CSC:I9100VODLP8
Now running on AT&T
I want to root this phone while maintaining the stock firmware or something better. Could some help me out I can't seem to find the right kernel to use. I appreciate it (p.s I did like to unroot at a later stage).
thanx
Since you're on ICS, just use this. No kernel flashing required.
There's a pretty good guide right here:
Your kernel: 3.0.15-I9100BULPC
Look for the LPC zip file in that thread, that is the kernel you need, be sure to read the guide well.
Good luck.

Thank you for the link. I tried it out and it worked out well for me.
Hi,
I have the exact same phone as the OP:
PDA: i9100BULPC
Phone: i9100BULP6
CSC: i9100VODLP8
I've been trying to root my phone to install a custom ROM on my phone for the last few hours but I keep hitting hitches.
I've tried using the customer kernel posted by nawrejin on this thread, but when I boot up my wifi won't work (stuck on authenticating/obtaining IP); that aside I also have a problem with CWM ('cwm manager needs superuser access')?
If I flash the stock kernel for my build then the wifi problem resolves itself, but returns to being unrooted. I don't have a mini SD card so can't use the solution proposed by ctomgee (rooting without kernel flashing).
Can anyone propose a workaround or solution? I've been trying all night now with no success. And I am a newbie noob noob .
Thanks for any input,
Will
Buy an sd card for a couple bucks.
Try to get the sd card. I I hae found this method very effective. When done you could download neat rom lite by Sale and watch your phone fly.

You'd probably be slaughtered alive for posting this question. This is xda, mate. Search, read and try before posting questions. And even if you do have to post a question, find the correct thread for doing so.
Since you asked, look through this thread for all your rooting requirements. Me and probably a million others like you have read that and then managed to root their phones following the steps mentioned there.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
Dont forget to thank the contributor.
Yours being 4.0.4 theres a problem with an EMMC bug bricking the phone. again, read the forums thoroughly before going ahead.
Just flash a pre-rooted kernel.
I guess there is a thread discussing about rooting.

***** PLEASE read this important information*****
-You are running stock 4.0.4 ROM which it's known to have brick bug on it's kernel.
-after rooting, DO NOT factory reset/data or restore any backup without changing your kernel to custom one. Siyah, Dorimanx, Dream, and Speedmod kernels are known to be safe.
-You must change your kernel after rooting. It's better to be safe than sorry

Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
I have the same setup as you so I think you can look into my thread which i started yesterday and Jokesy took the time and answered all my questions there including linking to a guide (thank you Jokesy, fantastic). I did not use Odin, but i used CWM Recovery Touch.
After following Jokesy link i rooted my phone, i installed the latest siyah S2 kernel (no beta), i also installed Titanium backup and purchased the PRO key. After that i followed an external link of services and programs that i could safely freeze/delete.
It shall be said that i have been using SGS2 since last spring/summer and this was my first time modifying anything with the phone.
Here is my thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1841641
Frank
For simplest root just use method 1 from 1st guide in my signature. No CF-Root, no CWM needed. Just copy one file to external SD card and update from stock recovery.
- Thanks for the contributions... - there's a lot to take in -
- This 'Bricking Bug' is something of a concern... - so I'll be doing some more reading before I choose whether to proceed with rooting my SGS2 -
- Hopefully things will be simpler with the Nexus 7... -
- Understanding the various versions, terminology & methods etc. is giving me something of a head-ache today -
- But thanks again... -

different basband?
Hello devs,
I ran into a problem few hours ago and I am trying to work my way around and through it. I honestly did, I have already lost patience and feel like quitting life itself. I wiped my phone, installed a different BOOTLOADER, different MODEM, different CODE and different CSC. I did all this to install a new ROM, I didn't like the changes so I went for my backup and restored it. Everything was successful, except that the Baseband version hasn't changed at all.
What is a baseband? Does it matter if I installed a different one (it is supposed to be XXLPS-I9100)?
Thanks
Baseband and modem are pretty much the same thing mate. You don't need to have a particular one. If you find your signal isn't as good as it should/used to be, you can change your baseband at a later stage. It doesn't matter if you stick to the one you have. It won't spring up at night and chop your phone into two bits

And what is the stock rom download link for my phone?

And when I go to the device-info it says:
Android-version: 4.3

I think the recent CM11 isn't stable. Try AOKP-, Omni-, TW-based Roms instead.
Official firmware you get here: www.sammobile.com
Flashing this by Odin lets you loose Root and CustomRecovery.

Hi, what rom do you recommend for me?
And how do I install that rom?
I prefer TW-based roms without all the Sam-bloat, because camera- and radio-hardware are supported better, likes me. I prefer NanoRom, since yesterday developed in xda, too.
Read any tutorial (the search-button, you know ), how to install / flash a custom-rom and then play with their variosity...
Becareful to ask which rom to use as this is against the rules.
cm11 is very stable for me, haven't had a crash in weeks.
