What's it doing or not doing?
I had a problem with mine and user "simoncinis told me to go to:
Setting-
Connections-
Data Usage-make sure mobile data is checked
then press the menu key, and make sure the Auto sync data box is checked.
I hope this will help, but don't know. Good luck

Just to make sure that we are talking about the same email apk. The one im talking about is pulled from the nexus 5's gapps

If you have Sammy email in system and the EmailGoogle and Exchange2Google paired set, they can't coexist with the Sammy pair, as the system will read the name of the app on the manifest, which is simply email.
Only way to do both is to have the Google versions installed as regular apks (data apps).
Let me know if this addresses your issue.

Yep that's it running fre Rom. Want to replace Sammy email is nexus style like in maximus Rom.

You must move the 2 Sammy apps out of system, and replace with the 2 Google Apps. I have a folder on my internal SD card called NABD stock files just for that purpose. That way, I can put them back if needed.
While you're at it, you might as well do it beautifully and grab those 2 apks from Matt Booth, Kryten2k35, Ultima rom dude. Hit www.ultimarom.com, go to inverted apps, look for inverted AOSP email. Best you'll find. Just stunning.

So aosp inverted looks awesome. So when you installed this did you flash it through twrp?

No need. Just unzip, push perm. There's nothing but apks.

I'm not real sure how do remove Sammy apks. Just move them with a file Explorer? Or do I do it with something like titanium back up and freeze it? Sorry your having to explain this like I'm a newborn.

Please quote me if you want a timely response, as I get an email. If you don't, you're assuming I check your thread regularly, which is not a safe assumption.
Don't freeze it, at all, or you will have no email at all. This is one of those times where if you want AOSP email in system, you must cut the Sammy versions out first.
Do this,
1. Cut paste Sammy email and exchange apks from system app, to your internal or external storage, use root explorer or similar app
2. Reboot
3. Take the 2 apks from Ultima rom zip and push to system app, fix permissions
4. Reboot
5. You'll have an app called email (the same app name as the Sammy apps, thus the freeze warning). Launch email, set it up just like you did on Maximus
Good luck!

Just a shot in the dark (in not using this... I hate touchwhiz) but maybe push to system/app and set permissions to rw, r, r?

About to test, will try pushing to system/app and setting permissions as well.
Crashed when edited the permissions, lol resetting it and trying again since it was working fine before.
Okay pushing the app causes it to crash, best call would be to just install it, I'm assuming the options on it won't work due to the lack of the TW framework.
Found the widgets, but says it's not installed with the permissions needed to bind widgets, changed all the permissions, same thing, so conclusion is:
Only installable like a regular apk
Widgets won't work until we figure out what permissions it needs, though to be honest I think it'll require tw framework to full work.
That is probably why.

I would prolly push the apk to /system/app then tap the apk to install. There's a lib file that goes with it

WORKS!
Push the apk file to system/app then install, widgets stick and you're capable of changing your wallpaper as well.

Crashed upon reboot, fail, lol.
If you reinstall it again, it works fine, why does it fail upon reboot? After reinstalling it retains your set up, odd.

Keeps crashing upon reboot, only option is to reinstall leaving the APk file in system/app but its a tad bit annoying to do everytime you reboot.

Eww...not a fan of TW that's not meant for the device. Choppy and laggy...not for me. I need my Sense Widgets. Unless we get CM9

Yea thank you we are currently roaming at home (4G rolling in this month so hopefully that will change) and this makes so much less annoying.
-I bootlooped 3 times before I realized the ;MobileData; is CASE sensitive.

Credit goes to antiochasylm for this, original thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2677373 . So head there for detailed info and to give thanks.
I've confirmed it works on Sacs Rom V2 and on Fre3 2.0 beta 4. I'm 99% sure it would work on k3 as well. If you use a theme the toggle will not get themed.
It is a two part flash. Just download the files, flash part 1 then 2 and profit!
Download Part 1
http://d-h.st/b3n
Download Part 2
http://d-h.st/PKx
NOTE: This is a modded systemui.apk so it WILL break any theme or other systemui dependant files. So if you use sac rom you WILL lose 3minit and lidroid.

Howdy doo everyone! Does anyone knows if it's confirmed working on Sac's v3 by any chance? The rom has the S5 UI, settings, and icons.

Ya I flash this when I lose the toggle. If you move the toggles sometimes the flashlight goes away. Hit reset and it'll usually bring it back but then the mobile data toggle is way down and I like it to be first. Also, sometimes flashing a theme will make it dissapear. After flashing this it'll stick. Works on every ROM available to us. Even vision X.

Flashed and worked great, but it broke 3minit quick settings, icons all disappeared.

I flashed this on Vision X and it broke the toggle theme but did add the toggle but the toggle doesn't work.

Keep tapping the icon. It works. Then reflash the vision x theme.

Is this for the sprint version? If it is can we get it working with the lastest nc5 update?

It worked on the sprint version. Haven't tried it on nc5. Make a backup and try it. You can always revert back to your backup if it doesn't work.

I flashed it, works but it did make a couple of changes that are not for sprint. Like the updates, profile, prl , etc is not there anymore and no where to be found. 4g icon is completely different. Not sure if a moderator knows hows to make it completely compatible for the sprint variant.

If I can recall correctly this is because it uses a different systemui. You can look around and try to find different method. There are others but this was the only easy flashable way I found. It's been a few months so no telling what is out now. Most of the sprint roms include the flashlight toggle anyway.

S5 Mms

Found this in the international forum. I take no credit for this. Antt00 came up with it. Confirmed working on NAB K3 V2. Haven't tested on anything else.

IMPORTANT: Back up your phone before trying this. You won't be able to remove easily if you wanna go back. It changes system and data files. The messaging does work and it's kinda cool but mms doesn't work.

Pretty sure it says in the OP that mms doesn't work. (Read the *important* at the bottom of the OP.)

Camera, but I believe that a fix may already have been attained, and a newer iteration is in the pipeline.

Thanks for the info! I checked the OP of your ROM thread and didn't see it....is there anyway to throw together a package of your s5 sms stuff so I can just throw that on my phone? since you are from what I see the first to beast mode it into perfection.
Edit: ok I found the apks in your other thread. (I was originally looking in S5 port thread). Now have you changed those apks at all? cause the ones I grabbed a few weeks ago from international forums would install and work EXCEPT for mms. thanks in advance!
