I have the sch-i605 rooted with Adam outlers casual root... So I have super such, twrp, and boot loader unlocked. I made a recover backup in twrp and wiped the necessary files and flashed carbon job 4.2.2 ROM.. I got it all setup and it seems to be pretty stable so far. Downloaded additional apps that I want and thought to myself that maybe I should save a recovery of this ROM the way it is so that I could have two recoveries to choose from.. Figured if anything went wrongi could flash back to my stock rom or ifi wanted to flash another custom rom and then go back to my carbon rom setup the way I have iti could easily flash back to it.. So I did another backup thinking I would end up with two backups in my twrp/backups for but when I went there I only had the most recent one (carbon not stock backup)... It's not a huge deal right now cause carbon is working pretty well, but I feel a little in easy that I don't have my stock backup....
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... Could I use Odin and flash the stock image in download mode or would that in root me? Etc.
Did you backup the rom the first time? You say you backed up the recovery.

I made 2 TWRP backups and didn't see them at first when I pressed the Restore button, but then I pressed the "Storage:..." label under the screen heading title and was able to change the location. After I did that I was able to see my 2 backups. Maybe you'll find your first backup at some other location.

unfortunately this wasn't the case for me... i used file manager and es file explorer and i only have one twrp file and its the one that has the carbon rom backup not the stock....
so i remember i had a soft brick once while trying to get adam outlers casual root to work.... i downloaded a stock android 4.1.2 md5 file and .pit file and put the phone into download mode and use the odin app to flash those two files.... so i know if need be i could do that probably again to get back to stock, BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW IF I WOULD STILL BE ROOTED? (IE.. BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED, SUPER SU, TWRP, ANDALL THAT??)

If you have TWRP it will be the recovery that is there when you boot into recovery (ie. Vol up, Home, Power)
If you have root you will either see the root app in your apps or you can use the root checker app in the market.
If you use those files to go back to stock though you will not have root, be unlocked, or have TWRP. The only way to be rooted when going back to stock is to use root66 as the ROM instead of 4.1.2.

A friend of mine went aboard and had his SGS4(I9505) unlocked. He came back a few days ago and yesterday he came and the phone was not able to register on the network. His IMEI was 'Unknown', so apperantly I wm assuming that the flashing went bad.
Last night i tried:
- Flashed CM 11 official
- Flashed Google Edition 4.4
- Flashed Stock 4.3(H3G)
But nothing worked. I was getting some notifications from KNOX and remember reading that it sometimes it messes with flashing ROMs.
So basically my question is ehat can I do to get the IMEI back. I do not have an EFS backup (nor any backup in that matter). I am dont know what info should I provide to ease you guys in resolving this issue, but will do on demand(and eventuwlly with little info on how to get it ).
Any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

When I unlocked my bootloader I made a backup of the TA partition beforehand.
Everything went fine, I installed a CM12 ROM, no problem. Lollipop goodness! Yay.
Restoring the TA partition I left until this morning. The restore appeared to go successfully, but when I selected reboot device, it turned off, but not back on again.
When I hold on the power button. It vibrates, but does not turn on.. Nothing has appeared on the screen since I rebooted after the TA restore.
red reset button doesn't appear to do anything. I am fully charged. .... At least I think so. When the charger is connected, I get a red flashing light..
PC Companion will not connect to the phone.
I managed to unbrick it...

If you restore your TA, you lock the bootloader automatically, then you can't Boot a custom ROM

Interesting thanks.
So am I right in saying you only need to restore the TA when you want to return to stock?
And therfore you lose drm and screen quality when using a custom rom.

There is a short "return to stock" section towards bottom of first post in this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z-ultra/general/guide-everything-root-4-4-4-t2938098
Unless there is a copy of the TA partition backup somewhere on your device you will not be able to restore it to completely stock as it is device specific. The TA partition effects some Sony proprietary functions.
Actually after typing this I remembered the 4.4.2 GPe port was available for locked Bootloaders so your TA may be intact as unlocking is what causes loss of TA.
I do not know where to find the TA backup or if there is any in the phone.

Maybe try the search function from a file explorer. If you type this *#*#7378423#*#* into the phone dialer then select service info then configuration you can check your bootloader status. Copy and paste will also work. The status will be "not allowed" if it is locked and is not unlockable "allowed" if it is locked and able to be unlocked and "unlocked" if it has been unlocked.Regardless you can return to stock but without the TA but xreality, bravia and some other things will not work. There is also a thread in the cross device section for a work around to restore those functions without TA.

I tried to flash (using flashtool) the latest MM firmware flashing went good until I turned on the phone.
I got a warning I thing it was (something (I fogot T_T))media has stopped then it started bootlooping. then I flashed back the N firmware found that it didn't erase what was on my phone like it use to do with the Z2;
So, is there any proper way to downgrade?
F5122 - 34.2.A.0.292 (unrooted//LB)
Try different MM FW , or try again same, I got bootloop also on first time, second time it worked and I was able to get DRM keys out. When you flashed did you checked eveything on Wipe Sin table?

When you do a downgrade you need to select everything in WIPE section. You can try leaveing the UserData unticked (hopefully it won't bootloop) but it would be safer to wipe it clean.

CONFIRMATION OF TA RESTORE!
- Ran tool on Xperia X
- Unlocked bootloader
- Flashed TWRP
- Booted to system
- Got nag about being unsafe due to unlocked bootloader and wanted password. I don't have a pasword?? (nevermind)
- Booted back to TWRP (Also wants a password due to encrypted data - ignored!)
- Pushed TAbackup.img (I renamed it) to /data/local/tmp and verified md5sum is same as original backup.
- Did
Code:
adb shell dd if=/data/local/tmp/TAbackup.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/TA
- Rebooted
- Everything back as it was. Original TA restored and DRM keys all active:victory:

there is xperifirm standalone app, download it and try it
downloading and flashing MM
i have checking the Xperifirm , and unfortunately it seems as though Sony have removed it. i did however download and try the MM from (for TA backup): xperiarom.com/sony-xperia-x-f5121-stock-firmware-marshmallow-6-0-1-34-0-1-277/4-0-1-277/
the flash went successful, (apart from one or two warnings or something in Flashtool).BUT, i had the same waring as you, something along the line of "your device is corrupt, and may not function properly. press power button to continue."
after pressing it, it just showed blank screen. i then tired flashing the official firmware (Nougat) which i made using the Xperifirm and Flashtool. the same things happened, i got the warning message and a blank screen. thus i used Sony Companion software repair to restore and i'm back to crappy Nougat.
it would be good if i could have some more information on how you flashed it, or if someone can tell me how to flash properly. Maybe when flashing MM, i didn't check the wipe boxes (like that other guy mentioned in the thread, which i will try once i have free time). And it may be that the Nougat software created, was improper.
any information would be great, thanks!

You need to check the wipes except the TA wipe, I don't have flashtool on my work pc so, I'll update this with a screenshot the things you need to wipe before downgrading to MM;
dont forget to add script =-= and you must wipe everything to skip bootloop.

how to downgrade/flash MM (Marshmallow)
Thank you algnerd & max26292 for your guys help! really i appreciate it so much!
Here's what happened, as you guy said to basically select everything in the 'wipe section', i did so. but when it flashes a messages pop's up asking "A FSC script has been found 34.0.fsc. Do you want to use it?" (this is the script algnerd was talking about (which i had no idea at the start)) . i clicked on no, so the process finished (within a short time) i did this twice, and, it basically did nothing, it booted to Nougat as though i didn't touch it.
the 3rd time, when that messaged poped up, i click on yes (obviously after selecting everything in the 'wipe section')........the result.................................................................................... it worked!!!
heres the image of what i selected in Flashtool:
i.imgur.com/8PWMn8Z.png[/IMG]
and the message (the script):
i.imgur.com/EznIw0h.png[/IMG]
so what you need to do it press yes, simple, but time effective.
thanks guys again, it means a lot .
