Guys, i need some help from you guys...i have messed up my E970 phone's network.
Actually, i messed up with its EFS parititon and now i am not getting any network in my phone. My phone is ON, everything working but it is not detecting any sim
i read on XDA forum and got that i need to replace my EFS paritions again with system actual EFS partition file.
Any user friend who has E970 and who is rooted, pls download below file and run in recovery to back up the phone's EFS parition, then pls mail me that backed up EFS parition file so that i can replace it to run my sim card:
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attach.../8/4/9/9/Optimus_G_Create_Flashable_EFSv4.zip
pls download, its only 1 MB file and it will create a single file of small size (in KBs), that file will be placed in /sd card/ EFS_backup
pls mail me that file to save my phone...pls help ppl...it will not take much of your time...help

It is possible to use DD to extract individual partitions from a backup file into seperate partition files. So in the case of bml3.bak my understanding is that it contains a copy of /efs and the stl3 data. If this is the case, then there should be a way to use dd and extract the individual partition data into seperate files so that the stl3 and /efs partitions can be recovered to restore an original IMEI.
The imei on the Galaxy S 4G is definately tied only to the contents of the EFS partition in the sense that I copied the EFS partition from one phone to another and ended up cloning the IMEI by accident. Now I would like to somehow extract my old data from BML3.bak and put the IMEI back.
Hi all,
need to ask a couple of questions regarding the EFS backup.
1) If i use the kTool for EFS backup and do a total wipe before flashing custom ROM, (mounts and storage>format system) will the EFS backup also get wiped out? My common sense tells me yes since the internal SD will be wiped out and kTool saves the EFS files on the internal SD but just want to be sure so that i can search an alternative method for backing up as i want to flash custom ROM with total wipe.
2) Does the EFS Pro app save the EFS backup on the internal SD only or does it have an option to save on ext SD card?
3) Do i just have to be rooted to backup my EFS files? Im just asking as im terribly obsessed my EFS files will get corrupt while rooting the phone! Is there a simple way to backup my EFS files on my ext SD card without root?
4) Can my EFS files really get corrupt just by rooting my phone?
Thanks in advance for any feedback

I know nothing about EFS backup but how about this. I assume you have access to a PC and the usb cable that came with the fone. Or else you do have a microsd card in the fone. Why don't you do the backup and copy the files to either the microsd card or a PC. That way you know you have a backup you can use.
In most cases, and someone can correct me if I'm wrong, the format system will not touch your backups.

Yes very true, i can also do that and it also crossed my mind but im afraid that by doing so, copying the EFS files and folders onto a PC or directly to the ext SD card will alter the files and folders in a way that they cannot be restored and i dont want to take that risk unless im totally sure of what im doing or if this can actually be done.
Thanks just the same for ur feedback
Ok so I just found out that with EFS Pro I can backup on my pc safely. Do I need to be rooted to use this app and safely backup the efs files?
Thanks
So, my phone bricked because of build.prop change, but before that, i downloaded a backup of my phone build.prop (S7 Edge) but in file manager of TWRP, it shows as if there was nothing, i can't check data in mount and internal storage is 0MB, there is no password (it didn't ask for one also) is there anyway i can retrieve my build.prop backup without erasing it?
Good day guys,
I just formatted my ZTE Nubia Z11 to factory settings and did a backup before that.
I do have the backup file both in sD card and phone memory in correct file path
nubia>PIM>(Name of Backup files)
but can not see them in Nubia Restore App to restore back to my phone.
Any help???
place a backup file in nubia>PIM>*place backup folder here* using a file explorer
you are supposed to paste the folder and not the seperate files..
Hey guys. My efs is corrupted after I tried to restore the whole system from twrp from my external sd card. I canĀ“t do anything with my phone (no format,no wipe...etc.)
Could anybody with a SM-G950f create a backup of the efs section with twrp and send it to me? This question may sound weird, but I really think that could help me to restore my corrupted/deleted efs folder..
Thank you so much
