Vote for that issue! I would use Cyanogenmod, but I can't hear a damn thing!
Pointless.
I can hear just fine, and you're obviously not using the DSPManager.

DSP Manager doesn't affect the phone speaker volume, only the headset (headphones), external speaker, and bluetooth.
Cyanogenmod has a horrible issue with volume, so don't try to tell me that it's right.
I can only hear in a quiet room on Cyanogenmod.
Now I think your post was pointless, sir.
I also have no problems hearing calls using cm7. The volume is a little low, but its crystal clear. No problems talking on the phone at work (noisy) or in my car on the freeway. I thinking raising the max incall volume would be nice, but not necessary to be able to use cm by any means.
Edit: one thing I noticed that is too low is when I call someone its hard to hear the ringing. But once they answer all is well.

It seems a little low at times for me...but not unusable.

[Q] Microphone volume low / muffled sound

Hey guys,
When I speak through the loud speaker, people say they hear me fine, otherwise, they say they can't hear me well and my voice sounds muffled.
This started recently (past month and a half, maybe after ROM upgrade - not sure though).
I am using [AOKP(Jellybean 4.1.2) | Task650 & Ktoonsez (10/17)
Thanks for any help !

have you been flashing a kernel? If you are you have to use micswap.
Nope, I haven't changed a kerrnel -using the one that comes with ktoonsez

U mean AOKP. And it isn't a problem with the kernel, must be on your end.
But since the mic is ok when using loudspeaker, I assume the mic isn't the problem.. what else can it be ?

[Q]Too loud speaker during phone call

Hello, I have just installed BiParanoid ROM, and everything works fine, but the phone call sound level is extremely high, so I can't talk privately - everybody around me hears who I'm talking with. The decreasing volume on slider doesn't work.
Looking for your help, I can't post in ROM threat because I haven't got enough posts...

THAT Kitkat Audio Bug - Hissing/Crackling.

As i am sure most of you are aware a lot of D802 users are now receiving kitkat updates. It doesn't seem to matter what version/country this bug is definitely present. Currently you will have to downgade to Jellybean if you can't live with it. I want to gather some info so here we go.
What is this bug.?
A crackling/hissing noise most noticeable in the left ear when using headphones. It isn't present until you actually play something.
How can i reproduce this bug?
Easy plug in some headphones and play some music. When music is playing the noise is most noticeable for me at LOWER volumes below the 50% mark. Easiest way to hear it is play the song even if it's just one second and then pause. For at least 5-10 seconds after pausing it the hissing will continue.
How can we fix it?
It is definitely a software not hardware issue as the noise was not present (or at least not as prominent) in Jellybean roms. I'm not holding my breath for a fix from LG at all so we need to all dig together. For a start if someone is still on Jellybean i would appreciate a copy of your build.prop and /system/etc just so i can have a compare of those between JB and KK. If it's more related to the audio libs then i'm out of my depth!
Update. It seems that the issue is a lot less common when using the LG Quadbeat headphones that came with the phone.
LG UK tweeted a reply to this issue stating that they will pass it on to their R+D department and they will look after us as customers.
Please try and tweet LG in your territory too but please don't spam them.
Please if you don't have this issue on Kitkat can you post what model/variant you have D801/D802 etc...
I can confirm this bug on my Nexus 7 with 4.4.2 when i play music i press pause i can hear crackling couple moments after.
I was just tested my G2 (16gb) with D80220b and i can't hear it (original jb rom was 210e). I tried different volume levels and i can confirm i can't hear it.
Hi,
i was trying to reproduce this issue but i cant hear this kind of bug. or am i deat? xD
my model is D802 32gb
Using your Rom modded =P
EDIT: i try radio FM and no issues
play powerAmp and issues appears
weird.
I've never experienced this. I tried stock Kit Kat (20a), I'm now on CloudyPro II, and there's no noise at all.
I have a D802 16gb.
I'm using Sennheiser earphones, not the original QuadBeat 2.
edit: I'd be the first one to downgrade if the quality got worse on 4.4.2, but fortunately I really don't seem to have this problem. Listened to music for a few hours on KitKat, sound was great.
edit2: I've just checked it again, and I too have the hissing. If I'm not paying too much attention to it, I can't even hear it, so I can live with it, but still...!
I have noticed that the sound is worse or better with different headphones. Are you guys sure it isn't present AT ALL?
Hmm where are all the people with the bug ha ha. There are lots complaining and now this thread is full of people with no issue
Ahh yes make sure you are playing an mp3 and not fm radio!
YES i too have exactly same issue with left channel.
D820 - 32Gb - G Pro2 port ROM by Tangjun.
i once tried OptimusRs G Pro2 rom V3, it was even worse... hissing on both channel.
this problem is not present when i use USB DAC thru OTG
I dont get the audio issue at all, tested with different music files and videos, at a range of volumes. Nothing present at all that should not be there.
Flashed D820220B-EUR
im from UK, phone was bought here and is unlocked and 16GB
Using stock headphones.

I used the Vodafone 20A, EUR Open 20B and now currently on OptimusRs G Pro2 V3 and I cant hear any hissing or crackling when playing music. Have an unlocked 16GB D802 and using the QuadBeat2 that came with the phone.
I do NOT have this problem.
D802, suffix A6NLBK, on 3 KK roms: Vodafone German, another Vodafone and the Open Portugal.
I have D802 32GB german distribution and I can hear it in both sides, loud and clearly! But I tried the LG headphones and didn´t hear anything. Please, what should I do? The only way is to downgrade?
Hmm I've not even tried using the headphones that came with the phone...

This mod posted here.. Supposed to fix in call echo bug and give sound boost..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51079650
But with this mod, the hissing is even more noticeable..
(basically this mod is just 2 files from /system/etc/, media_path.xml and media_path_auxpcm.xml)
==EDIT==
OH boy.. This mod seems permanent. Reverting those files didn't seems to reverse the effects.

Hmm yes no hissing with the stock lg headphones but they are awful and tinny...

I have no hissing on lg headphones too but if I focus, I can hear a sound defect in the left headphone. On my Sennheiser headphones I get massive noise everywhere.
I rolled back to 4.2, couldn't be happier.. everything just works like intended.
Hmm its a real shame though. I may install a cyanogen based ROM once they iron out the few bugs now they have kernel source it should be soon ...

I have Klipsch IMAGE X10 and I won´t listen with LG headpones but what are the possibilities? Should I downgrade? Is there any other(official) way than throught some kdz file?
No official downgrade we need to make lg aware of this bug and need a promise to fix it.
For some of us we can't listen to music at all anymore.

I have this bug also with stock earphones.
Hmm first person to have it with stock earphones I think?

[POLL] Are you facing low audio on aosp? Which one is your variant?

Hi, most of you should know me because Hybrid Bootstacks. But today, I'm here to talk about something new. (or not so new.)
Some people are getting Low audio output when on CM-12.1+ or any other aosp based. (I'm getting too.)
The problem here, is that not everybody has this issue, so, I need to you guys answer this poll with your G2 variant.
But only if you are facing this audio bug!
Attention, it is only about output volume, don't answer the poll if you have only the low mic issue. (Just reply the topic, with infos.)
Thanks,
Daniel Stuart

I have d802 and i was facing this problem and all the people i know with g2 complain about that. I know that you need to change the mixer_phat to increase the volume.

Edit mixer paths or use Kernel Auditor. It's that simple.
Having issues, it's too darn low! Had to edit mixer_paths... d802 SEA Variant...

Yeah, seems that it is a d802 only problem. I'll wait a little more until start to work on it.
Can you just answer one thing for me? Your microphone is low too? (cm13.0, cm12.1 has a mic bug.)
Just increasing values in mixer_paths did raise the volume. Problem was that it started to distort sound on the highest volume step. The solution was to flash viper4android, it made it possible to use a high value and not get sound distortion. D802
Sure, no problem... My girlfriend has been complaining that she doesn't hear me loud enough since I flashed 12.1, will have to test it on my own though by switching phones with her and will let you know... Editing the mixer_paths is not the solution because of the distortion, as stated above, and also the volume isn't quite linear in the final 3 steps, it's like it is jumping over two steps... Or we can't find the correct setup for the file... It can't be that we need to change just one (or three) value(s)...
d800 5.1.1 while recording at times when sound was loud it would sound very low at that part when record was played.. also using whats app audio messages it will start high for a second then very low, but only my messages that i sent recorded with g2 phone, the other end or friend could hear me out clear and loud just normal. and i could hear they messages loud just normal. only thing was my messages recorded with g2.

Yes, we need to find the best editing mixer_paths + kernel audio driver gain.

Can you guys try cm13.0? Seems like mic has been fixed on it. (Here it's ok now, just a little low. On cm-12.1 it was trash.)
Will give it a shot tomorrow since I need a fully operable phone today for work...

I have an LG G2 D801. I flashed crDroid 6.0.0 a few day ago. Speaker volume is very low. I have no idea how to increase the volume!! Tried Viper4Android but I don't even notice a difference.
When I call someone, they can hardly hear me.
Does anyone know how I might increase the speaker volume for my phone? Any good advice will be appreciated.
I remember a time when people were helpful on XDA. They would share knowledge, help others who know less. Unfortunately, those days are long gone.
I have referred many friends and acquaintances to XDA Developers, telling them there are many very experienced guys - and girls - who are happy to help you... It gives many of them the experience they need.
But a number of these people would tell me that the people on XDA are, basically, jerks! Rather than complain along with others, I hope to get through to at least one of you.
XDA began as a site where anyone with a specific handheld device could ask any question in order to get help...with any problem they would encounter. It grew and added other devices. Now XDA has become the most reputable go-to site for help with any kind of phone. If anyone knows anything about phones they know XDA Developers.
Guys, this should not be a place to show-of, or to be rude or intimidating. Often, there are people with questions, or need help, advice...and they don't know anything. These are the people who need help the most. Your help. Please treat people the way YOU would want to be treated when YOU did not know anything at all. That is all I ask.
Thank you.
I have d802 and i had to change mixer_paths to hear voice navigation commands during driving my car. The speaker audio is low and changing paths was the solution. It is true that there is a little distortion but when you set CM built in Audio mixer properly then no issues.
@CiscoKydd
If you are using the CM then you could edit the mixer_paths to raise the speaker volume output (have no idea about mic) or you could install cutom CAF kernel for d801 and then change the speaker and mic gain via Kernel Auditor.
I have no knowledge about the d801 kernels because I personally have the d802 version.
Thank you, @sunekosuri. I increased volume by editing mixer_paths. Volume increased to the point of distortion.
As for the mic... Well, that goes on my To Do list.
Thanks again, Sunekosuri.
Now I used to live with this very low sound. Camera and sound are the only issues I think of going back to stock.
hey, i was facing the same problem using last nitly from cyanogem mod 13 on my lg g2 d802 32gb. the only way that seems to boost around 50% the sound ouput was with this app.
hope it help you guys too.
